PERK PERIOD SELECTION INFORMATION

Students will select their Perk period classes on Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 22 during second period. On these days, students will report to their homeroom class (Period 1, Day A) classes during second period.

It is important for students to remember their own Skyward login and password as their parent’s login and password will not allow selection of Perk period classes.

Please review this catalog and use the template that is located at the back to record your preferences for the second semester of Perk period. Please note that is extremely important to record the name of the course in addition to the course number. This is because the courses are listed in alphabetical order in the actual Skyward selection screen.

It is also advised that students log into their Skyward account prior to the scheduling days to see if they have been pre-loaded into any classes. These additions may take place up until the day of scheduling so it is a good idea to check back when planning your choices and again prior to the actual selection.

PP1550 Mindfulness Interest Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) is best described as a moment-to-moment awareness that is intentionally non-reactive and non-judgemental. The program will help to foster a habit of mindfulness practice where the reports of improved self-esteem, well-being, and possible changes in attitude, habits and behaviors that ultimately improve health can be achieved. Students who would like to participate in learning and practicing mindfulness in hopes to help them find an additional path for stress reduction, improved mental clarity, improved sleep, and an increase in self-esteem are welcome to attend. There will be several different techniques learned during the sessions. A permission form must be returned to the main office and a questionnaire will be completed on the first and last day of the mindfulness program. This course will meet two times each cycle (days 1 and 4 or days 2 and 5). PP1560 Relaxation and Meditation Interest Join us for some relaxation strategies and mindful meditation.
