This is in honor of the 150th an-

niversary since St. Joseph was

declared Patron of the Universal

Church. The Pope has given a Plenary Indul-

gence to anyone who visits our church and asks for

St. Joseph’s prayers in the form of a pilgrimage. See

the Back of the Church for Pamphlets for more infor-

mation on how to gain the plenary indulgence.

Brothers and sisters, I am so grateful for your

response to our Thanksgiving Festival.

Thank you to all who came to get the food

and thanks especially to those who volun-

teered to make it possible. Many people came to volunteer

the day of and others spent a lot of time setting up the

booths and hanging the lights. There were new people who

helped and people who have been such a part of the com-

munity for years. Thanks to Anahi Gonzalez my business

manager who coordinated it all. Thanks for those of my

staff who were there to help as well! I am very grateful for

all the sponsors of the raffle prizes whose generosity ena-

bled us to have a successful raffle. I will share one neat

thing that happened. One man bought $3000 of tickets the

day of and won and is giving the gift cards back to the

parish! The love is palpable and multiplies. So those prize

sponsors helped even more than they thought. I am grate-

ful also for the sponsors of the bazaar itself who gave to-

ward it so that we could really make a positive change in

our parish’s Social Ministry. Thanks to the hard work of

those who cooked to provide people a reason to come to

the festival and those that helped with the Loteria. Thanks

to the waiters, runners, order takers, the raffle ticket

sellers. Lorenza who sold raffle tickets every day in front

of the Church for weeks. Thanks to those who cooked be-

fore the event during our Sunday kitchens. I am grateful

also for the DJ who volunteered his time. He did excellent

and I heard many positive comments. If anyone needs a

good DJ we can make a reference. Even though the online

auction is still going on until November 29, I would like

to support that so far we made $31,858 in profit! This ex-

ceeds last year. Jesus calls us to be a Church that is holy,

that reflects his light. While I am giving thanks I would

like to add that many have given for social ministry di-

rectly for a new commercial freezer. Someone donated a

conference room table to our office and another the gold

missal stand that my book rests on at my chair at Mass. I

am grateful for everyone’s constant support of the parish.

Let us continue to reflect his love and generosity and love

our neighbor as He loves us, especially the needy whom

our parish is committed to serve.

Hermanos y hermanas, estoy muy agrade-

cido por su respuesta a nuestro Festi-

val de Acción de Gracias.

Gracias a todos los que vinieron por comida

y gracias especialmente a aquellos que se ofrecieron para

prepararla y hacer esto posible. Muchas personas vinieron

a ser voluntarios ese día y otras pasaron mucho tiempo

montando las cabinas y colgando las luces. Había nuevas

personas que ayudaron y personas que han sido parte de la

comunidad durante años. Gracias a Anahí González mi ge-

rente que coordinó todo. Gracias por aquellos de mi per-

sonal que estaban allí para ayudar también! Estoy muy

agradecido por los patrocinadores de los premios de la rifa

cuya generosidad nos permitió tener una rifa exitosa.

Compartiré algo que pasó. Un hombre compró $3000 bo-

letos el día de la rifa y ganó, ahora él está devolviendo las

tarjetas de regalo a la parroquia! El amor es palpable y se

multiplica. También por esos patrocinadores de premios

que ayudaron aún más de lo que pensaban. Agradezco

también a los patrocinadores del bazar que con esto hacen

posible que podamos hacer un cambio positivo en el Mi-

nisterio Social de nuestra parroquia. Gracias al arduo tra-

bajo de aquellos que cocinaron para ofrecer a la gente una

razón para venir al festival y aquellos que ayudaron con la

Lotería. Gracias a los meseros, corredores, tomadores de

órdenes, los vendedores de boletos de la rifa a Lorenza que

vendía boletos para la rifa todos los días frente a la Iglesia

durante semanas. Gracias a los que cocinaron antes del

evento durante nuestras cocinas dominicales. Estoy agra-

decido también por el DJ que ofreció su tiempo como vo-

luntario. Lo hizo excelente y escuché muchos comentarios

positivos. Si alguien necesita un buen DJ podemos hacer

una referencia. A pesar de que la subasta en línea todavía

está en marcha hasta el 29 de noviembre, me gustaría de-

cirles que hasta ahora hemos hecho $31,858 en ganancias!

Esto supera al año pasado. Jesús nos llama a ser una Iglesia

santa, que refleja su luz.

Mientras doy las gracias, me gustaría añadir que muchos

han donado para el ministerio social directamente para un

nuevo congelador comercial. Alguien donó una mesa de la

sala de conferencias a nuestra oficina y alguien más el

sostén del misal de oro en el que mi libro descansa en mi

silla durante la Misa. Estoy agradecido por el apoyo cons-

tante de todos a la parroquia. Sigamos reflejando su amor,

generosidad y amemos a nuestro prójimo como él nos

ama, especialmente a los necesitados a los que nuestra pa-

rroquia está comprometida a servir.
