Dictation Scientists make a difference by showing us new ways to look at the world around us, explaining how things work, changing the way we think and developing theories and technologies that can improve our life. Scientists use scientific methods to solve problems, observe the world around them, make a theory and test to prove it. Great scientists teach us the importance of curiosity , the importance of creativity and the importance of belief.

Stephen Hawking is now one of the leading scientists who have achieved a lot in science. But we can hardly imagine an incurable disease has disabled him. He has to be sitting in his wheelchair and speak through a computer.

But his disability did not ruin his life. He went on with his research and his exploration of the universe and travelled around the world to give lectures. His famous book, “A Brief History of Time” became a best-seller.

He has continued to seek answers to questions about the nature of the universe since the early 1970s. He believes science is not necessarily about “true”facts that never change and even the best theory can turn out to be wrong.

The great minds seemed to be unique at an early age, and Thomas Edison was such a case. As a school boy, he was curious about the world around him and kept asking teachers questions that had nothing to do with his lessons. What’s more, he was not satisfied with a simple answer and was always seeking new questions, which his teachers were unable to answer. He was disliked and unfairly treated at school. There did not seem much point in staying at school, so his mother took him home. He never gave up his exploration of the unknown world. At the same time, by selling newspapers he made some money, with which he set up his own lab. He used to undertake experiments alone. He turned out to be one of the most creative inventors in the world.
