一 . 过去进行时　　过去进行时表示过去某一时刻或者某段时间正在进行或发生的动作，常和表过去的时间状语连用。   构成：

肯定形式：主语 +was/ were+ V-ing

否定形式：主语 +was not (wasn't)/were not (weren't)+V-ing

疑问形式： Was/Were+ 主语 +V-ing 。

过去进行时与一般过去时的区别

• 过去进行时：表示正在进行的动作。 I was reading a novel last night. 昨晚我在看小

说。（可能还没有看完）• 一般过去时：表示一个完成的动作。 I read a novel last night . 昨晚我看了一本小说。

二、 when 和 while 引导的时间状语从句1) 延续性动词和非延续性动词 延续性动词指动作可以延续一段时间，而不是瞬间结束。如： work 、 study 、 drink 、 eat 等。 非延续性动词指动作极为短暂，瞬间结束。如： start 、 begin 、arrive 、 jump 、 go 、 finish 、 borrow 、 knock 等。

2) when 表示“当……的时候”。它后面既可跟延续性动词，又可跟非延续性动词 .

3) while 表示“在……的时候”、“在……期间”。 While后面必须是表示动作或状态的延续性动词。
