Grammar : gerund vs. infinitive Gerund คือ รูปกริยาชองท่ี1 เติม -ing เชน running , eating , playing ทําหนาท่ีเหมือนคํานาม จึงเปนดีท้ังประธานและกรรม

ของประโยค

กริยาที่ตามดวย gerund

Avoid หลีกหนี enjoy สนุก risk เสี่ยง mind รังเกียจ

deny ปฏิเสธ escape หนี finish ทําเสร็จ admit ยอมรับ

practice ฝกฝน suggest แนะนํา prefer ชอบมากกวา stop หยุด

consider คิด, พิจารณา resist ตานทาน/ยืนยัน

ตัวอยาง I prefer swimming to walking (ฉันชอบวายนํ้ามากกวาว่ิง)

I stopped eating junk food for a long time. (ฉันหยุดกินอาหารขยะมาเปนเวลานานแลว)

I decided to save money for buy a new car. (ฉันต้ังใจจะเก็บเงินสําหรับซื้อรถยนตใหม)

Infinitive with to กริยาตอไปน้ี ซึ่งมักแสดงความต้ังใจ แสดงความประสงคหรือกริยาท่ีใชแสดงการสัง่หรือขอรอง การอนุญาต

หรือหม กริยาเหลาน้ีจะตองตามดวย to+V1 เพ่ือแสดงการกระทําท่ีจะเกิดข้ึนตามมา ไดแก..

want ตองการ hope หวัง wish ปรารถนา decide ตัดสินใจ

intend ต้ังใจ plan วางแผน agree เห็นดวย/ตกลงท่ีจะ ask ขอรอง

order สั่ง allow อนุญาต would like ตองการ beg วิงวอน

ตัวอยาง He agrees to work on this project. (เขาไดตกลงทําโปรเจคน้ี)

I want to study English language. (ฉันอยากเรียนภาษาอังกฤษ)

We like to eat in a small restaurants. (พวกเราชอบกินอาหารในรานอาหารเล็กๆ)

คํากริยาที่ใชไดทั้ง gerund และ infinitive

มีคํากริยาบางคําสามารถใชท้ังกับ gerund และ infinitive โดยแบงออกเปนสองกลุมคือ กลุมท่ีมีความหมายเหมือนกันหรือ

ใกลเคียงกันเมื่อตามดวย gerund และ infinitive กับอีกกลุมหน่ึงคือ เมื่อตามดวย gerund จะมีอีกความหมายหน่ึง และตามดวย

infinitive จะมีอีกความหมายหน่ึง

คํากริยาท่ีใชไดท้ัง gerund และ infinitive

1. try to do something หมายถึง พยายามทําอะไรบางอยาง

try doing something หมายถึง ลองทําอะไรบางอยาง

เชน

I try to make things right. ฉันพยายามทําสิ่งตางๆใหมันดี

I have tried playing extreme sport which I’ve never thought

to do.

ฉันลองเลนกีฬาประเภทเอ็กซตรีมซ่ึงไมเคยคิดมากอนวาจะเลน

2. stop to do something หมายถึง หยุดทําสิ่งหน่ึงเพื่อทาํอีก

สิ่งหน่ึง

stop doing something หมายถึง หยุดการทําบางสิ่ง

เชน

I stop towatch DVD. ฉันหยุดเพื่อที่จะดูดีวีดี

I stop texting him. ฉันหยุดสงขอความหาเขาละ

3. mean to do something หมายถึง ต้ังใจทําอะไรบางอยาง

mean doing something หมายถึง มีความหมายถึงการทําอะไร

บางอยาง เชน

I didn’t mean to look down on you. ฉันไมไดต้ังใจจะดูถูกคุณ

His acting means refusing me. การกระทําของเขาหมายถึงการ

4. regret to do something หมายถึง เสียใจที่จะตองทําบางอยาง

5. remember to do something หมายถึง จําไดวาจะตองทําอะไร

remember doing something หมายถึง จําวาไดทําบางอยางไป

6. forget to do something หมายถึง ลืมวาจะตองทําอะไร

forget doing something หมายถึง ลืมวาไดทําบางอยางไปแลว

เชน

Grammar : Review of passive voice Passive voice คือประโยคท่ีประธานเปนผูถูกกระทํา หรือประโยคท่ีอยูในรูป Subject + Verb to be + Verb 3 (Past

1.รูปประโยค Passive โดยปกติเนนผลของการกระทํามากกวาใครเปนคนกระทํา

Rice is grown in rainy season. ขาวถูกปลูกในฤดูฝน (ใครปลูกไมสน สนแตวาปลูกเมื่อไหร)

A cat is being hit. แมวตัวหน่ึงกําลังถูกตี (ไมตองการรูวาใครตี ตองการรูแควาแมวโดนตี)
