Judge Wayne Alley Advocacy Award Awarded to the competition team that demonstrates superior writing excellence in a moot court brief.

Henry Kent Anderson Human Service Award Awarded to a student in his or her last year of law school whose leadership, creativity, and vision have been demonstrated through exemplary accomplishments that showed an appreciation for history, culture, welfare, and economic development of our nation’s first people. Preference is given to a member of a federally recognized tribe.

Kelly Beardslee Criminal Defense Award This award is presented to a student who has completed at least two semesters in the Criminal Defense Clinic and who demonstrates a commitment to providing quality representation to those accused of criminal offenses.

S.T. Bledsoe Memorial Prize Mrs. Adelaide Bledsoe Kingman and Mr. Virgil T. Bledsoe offer as a memorial to their father the same prize offered by him for many years. The award is based upon all elements of merit in the student’s record for the entire three-year curriculum.

Court Call Law Award This award is made each year to two outstanding members of the third-year class who demonstrate skill in Moot Court, Mock Trial, or Trial Advocacy Programs. Criteria include the dedication of the student to the overall success of the team performance, including quality of work on written briefs and oral presentations, ability to work together as a team to accomplish goals, as well as attendance and preparation during the practice rounds of the competition team.

Paul K. Frost II Memorial AwardThe Paul K. Frost II Memorial Award was established in 1979 in memory of Paul K. Frost II by his family. This award recognizes a student who is a resident of the state of Oklahoma and holds a distinguished rank in his or her second-year class. Prior academic achievement, strength of character, sense of serious purpose, leadership ability, and promise of future involvement in the governmental affairs of the state of Oklahoma are also considered.

James F. Hawes Memorial Cup This award is made each year to the outstanding member of the second-year class. The award was established by Mrs. James Hawes in memory of her son, who passed away while a second-year law student at the College of Law.

Joel Jankowsky Award The Joel Jankowsky Award was established to recognize a member of the graduating class whose combined leadership, scholarship, and selfless service to others, exemplifies a standard of overall excellence deserving of the highest honor, and who has committed to future service to the state and nation as he or she leaves the College of Law to embark upon a professional career. The recipient’s name will be added to a bronze plaque to be displayed in a prominent place in Andrew M. Coats Hall.

Nathan Scarritt Prize The late Nathan Scarritt of Enid, an alumnus of the College of Law, offered annually for many years a gold medal to the student who graduates with the highest academic record. His sons, Nathan Scarritt, Jr. and Richard W. Scarritt, continue this prize in their father’s memory.
