You might want to play a game you got that’s all brand new,

But best friend Sue would rather skate then sit and play with you.

So now you’re not quite sure, of what you ought to do,

Why not go and skate with Sue cuz that would be fun too.

Acceptance means that you’re okay to let Sue have her way,

Cuz you know you can play your game on any other day.

A rainbow in the sky, or flowers colored bright

The beauty that we see in these fills us with delight.

Beauty may be all around, but lives more than outside,

What kind of beauty might you have that lives in your inside?

When you have a loving heart and know how to be kind,

That’s the best thing beauty is that everyone can find!

You got a little brother who often takes your stuff.

Then goes outside and hurts himself from playing way too rough.

But if he really hit his head and cried with great big tears.

You would hope that he’s okay and help to calm his fears.

That’s because you care for him, he’s really not so bad,

He’s the one who makes you laugh whenever you feel sad.



D is for DD is for DD is for DD is for Dreamsreamsreamsreams

A dream's a story, but too a wish, tucked deep inside of you.

That fills your heart with hope at dawn; your wishes might come true.

You may dream of what to be when you grow big and tall.

Perhaps you'd like to sing and dance or maybe play baseball.

I know life is rough sometimes, but dreaming helps you through.

Let no one take your dream away, its place is just with you.

Your Mommy made you ice cream cones to eat in your backyard,

But Billy caught you by surprise and sneezed on his too hard!

Down it went, splat on the ground and melted from the heat,

“On no,” he yelled, “Please make it stop,” then jumped and stomped his feet.

You know just how Billy felt, and gave him sympathy.

Cuz when you know how someone feels, you call it empathy.

A thought rolls round your head, a tickles on your tum.

Feelings are inside of you, maybe lots or one.

A feeling can be scary or make you think you’re sad.

Or fill you with excitement that makes you feel so glad!

When Mom or Daddy holds you close with a hug or two,

You’ll get feelings warm and fuzzy deep inside of you.

You get gifts at birthday time; eat cake that Mommy made.

Rode the brand new bike you got, then Mom made lemonade!

But if you think of someone else and what makes them feel good,

You might know just how to give, please tell me if you would.

You could give your old bike away to a child in need,

Or for a child that has no books, give them yours to read!

Sometimes schoolwork gets too hard and you might get upset,

Til someone comes to help you out so you don’t have to fret.

How might you help someone, it could be Mom or Dad?

Maybe you could clean your room that sure would make them glad!

You could help some critters too by doing one good deed.

Just ask your friends to donate food for all the pets in need!

Maxwell had a birthday party and asked your sis not you,

To come and share in all the fun you wanted to do too.

Your big sis is in his grade, that’s why Max did not include you,

But still it hurts you not to go, cuz you play with Max too.

Now you know what include means, please keep it in your heart.

The next time you might be the one to ask who will take part!

If Mom or Dad brought home a pup, what would you feel inside?

Or if you went to some street fair and rode on every ride?

I bet you’d be excited about the things you’d get to do.

Your little heart would leap for joy as it danced inside of you.

You could give someone some joy with what you do or say,

Just put on your big smile then spout, “Hello, have a great day!”

There is a boy in your class, who’s different, not like you,

Little Tim has special needs; some things are hard for him to do.

He tries his best but often times takes longer than the rest,

To understand what teacher says or even take a test.

Some kids laugh and some complain and some act very mean.

But what do you think would be kind, instead of acting mean?

If you were kind and thought about how hard it is for Tim,

Rather than be like the rest, you could try to help him!

When something tickles you inside and your tum-tum starts to wiggle,

You find yourself all giddy so out comes a big giggle.

You laugh at silly monkeys as they play ‘round in the zoo,

Or at your crazy uncle who makes faces just for you.

So if you like to laugh, it’s good for you to do,

Laughter is the medicine whenever you feel blue.

After clouds have wept the rain and sun comes shining thru,

The magic of the rainbow appears for me and you.

In a blink a tiny bud becomes a rose of red

Like magic, plants and flora spring up from flower beds,

These magic things we see, they fill us with delight

What magic do you see, in daytime or at night?

Where trees grow tall and rivers flow and mountains touch the sky,

This is the place of nature where critters prance or even fly.

A world of wonder, still and clean, untouched by humankind,

It’s where you will see bugs and birds or a bunny you might find!

Outside your door nature thrives with unmatched life and beauty.

We must take care to keep it there, a human's noble duty!

A puppy might pee on your pants and poke you with his nose,

Then turn around and laugh at you then start chewing on your toes.

When you put words into a verse and rhyme not one but two,

You create a poem to read that’s fun for me and you.

A poem can be short or long, wacky, weird or wild.

Can you write a poem for me that’s mighty, meek or mild?

A question is what is it is, what is that it does?

It tries to find the answers to what the question was!

How tall are trees? How blue the sky?

The earth spins round, can you tell me why?

What are clouds and snow and rain? Where do tear drops go?

Do you have questions on your mind? What is it you’d like to know?

Reflect is when you think about a thing you see or do,

Or wonder what might happen if you decided not to.

If you went to a party and ate way too much food,

You might not feel so good and get in an awful mood.

So next time you partake of eating party treats,

You might want to reflect upon just how much you eats!

A surprise could be most anything you don’t expect to get.

A poke, a pool or brand new pants or even a new pet.

What surprises do you like, what kind would make you giggle?

A little bug that climbs up your leg then makes you start to wiggle?

The best surprise I like to give to someone who is sad,

One great big, fat hug and kiss so they no longer feel so bad.

Today is not what just did pass and not what next will come,

Today is NOW for everyone, too soon it will be done.

I like it when I laugh my voice gets large and snappy.

I'll bet you've got some wishes, maybe two or three.

Do you know how it is that wishes come to be?

See your wish, then let it go to float up past the sky.

Beyond the clouds and to the stars is where your wish will lie.

Your wish is waiting there for you, just give your star a winkle.

A doctor's eyes can't see a bone underneath your skin.

An X-ray must be taken to see your bones within.

Thank goodness X-ray looks inside so the doc can see

Where to place the cast to mend your broken thumb or pinky

But what about that nickel little Nicky tried to eat?

Could X-ray see it going down and landing in his feet?

Why not ask the doctor what else X-ray can see.

Next time you go visit, would you ask him that for me?
