1.ความงดงามทางกายภาพของเรอนแถวไมโบราณ 2 ชน The Aesthetics of Physical Environment ในเขตเทศบาล อายราว 50 ถงรอยกวาป ทมขนาดสดสวนสมพนธกนกบถนน จำานวนมากกวารอยหอง โดยเฉพาะ

เรอนไมโคงแถวคบรเวณสามแยกดานในตลาด มลกษณะเฉพาะตวไมเหมอนทอนและมสภาพสมบรณ สมควรอนรกษเปนมรดกของ

เมองหลมใหลกหลานไดชนชมตอไป

Ancient two-story wooden houses in the municipality are fifty to more hundreds years which

have the match proportion related to the road. There are more than 100 rooms particularly double row of

curve wooden houses on the junction road in the market area. The wooden houses have the unique charac-

teristics which are different from other places, and the whole structures are in perfect condition. Thereby, they

should be preserved as a cultural heritage of “ Muang Lom ” for descendants.

หากสามารถสงเสรมใหคงสภาพและผลกดนใหเปนแหลงเรยนรทางภมปญญาจะเปนตวอยางหมบานทคง

เอกลกษณชาวไทหลมลกผสมไทย-ลาวไดเปนอยางด

Thai-Lom Vernacular Village still have the traditional structure of communities as can be seen

in the past that the temple was the main center and the agricultural area was nearby to the communities.

Wooden houses contain simple beautiful architectural elements of intellectual knowledge following ancestors

who immigrated from Luang Prabang.

In the municipal area have the same characteristics of 4 communities as follows :

1. Wat Tarn Community 2. Wat Srisumang Community

3. Ban Pruan Community 4. Wang Wern Community

If we can maintain wooden houses to remain in a good condition and also can be the intellectu-

al knowledge for studying , this would be an example of a village that still preserve the identities of Thai-Lom

people who are half Thai and Laotian.

จรงอธยาศยไมตรดตอแขกผมาเยอนอยางยง ถอไดวาเปนเมอสขาวทแสนสงบเสงยมแหงหนง ถกรบกวนจากสงเราภายนอกนอย

มากหากเปรยบดงผากสามารถพดไดวาเปนผาสขาวบรสทธทยงไมมสงแปดเปอนใดใดเลย

Lom-Kao is a small peaceful town owing to its hidden in the geography which is surrounded by 3

sides of hills. Therefore, by naturally, the local people will not much get involve with outside people. Easy life-

style with few works and having the modest enough commercial areas, the town condition of the municipality

is calm since 7 pm in the evening. Commercial stores ( Two-story old wooden houses ) will be closed. Lom-Gao

people do not like vices. There is no entertainment venue. People here are greatly sincere and amicable for

visiting guests. This is considerable to be the serenely pure white town.

นามเรยกกนวา “ชาวไทหลม” มสำาเนยงภาษา ศลปวฒนธรรมทมเสนหเปนแบบฉบบเฉพาะของเมองเลกๆแหงน

อยางแทจรง และสงทแสดงตวตนและความมากเสนหของเมองหลมเกา มดงนคอ

List, there will show a short description of Lom-Kao in two lines “ Lom-Kao appeared since King

Rama I which was called “Muang Lom-Kao”. During Rattanakosin period, Muang Lom-Kao became

the town of Laotian groups. When many people immigrated from Luang Prabang, the new town

located in the south of “Lom-Kao” was erected which is called “Muang Lom-Sak” nowadays.”

From a database, “Lom-Kao” was the important town during Sukhothai kingdom. Laotian

people immigrated from “Luang Prabang” which is in the north that they moved to settle down in

the south. Since the town is lowland, and in the past was called “Muang Loom” or “Muang Lom”

, the cultural foundation of Lom-Kao people have the mix between Thais and Laotians.

Lom-Kao people have agricultural life especially doing rice field. Rice field is the original

workLocal Rice Varieties : Kao Muk , Kao E-Tub , Kao Homtoong , Kao Huajook , Kao Dorche , etc.

In conservation methods , if we conserve a group of buildings such as two-story old wooden houses, it would be

a spot in the town which will create less important power. In contrast, if we enlarge the boundary to other important areas

and also having conservation together, this will have many conservation areas. Furthermore, the more connecting every area

together, the more charming power of the town. This power will lead native people and outside people absorb the touch

and being more conceived. The technique will conserve the strength and better linking stories.

The community is located on the beautiful location and

surrounded Lumnarmpoong River. The structural characteristics of

the community along Chaiyaphum can be a landmark to support

the outstanding landscapes and sceneries. Furthermore, creating

activities to relate with Wang Wern Relics Building Water Festival.

Ban Pruan Community was assumed a word “Pruan”

derived from “Puan” which is a location of Thai Puan People or

Lao Puan People. They are immigrated from Puan Town in Laos

more than 10 houses. The important thing is structural environ-

ment of community planning which still having the same condi-

tion. The proportions of circulations, fences, terraces, rice barns

, and sceneries , especially rice fields which have beautiful view

that visitors can see the real rural environment.

ใหญถอวาเปนพระศกดสทธ ลกษณะชมชนมโครงสรางเกาะขนานกบลำานำา

พง มบานเรอนทยงคงความงดงามทางสถาปตยกรรมพนฐน เขาชมชนโดย

จกรยานจะพบวถชวต การทำาผลตภณฑพนบาน เชน ไสอว การทำายาสบ

เปนตน ถอวาเปนอกชมชนทควรสงวนไว ใหคงเสนห ความงดงามสบไป

Both two communities have the temples to be the

center , especially “Wat Tarn”. Luang Por Yai is the most oracular

monk. The community characteristics have the parallel structure

with Lumnarmpoong River. There are beautiful vernacular archi-

tecture. By bicycling , visitors can go and see life-style , crafts

such as Sai Aua (Northern Thai Spicy Sausage) , Tobacco Curing ,

etc. Therefore they should be conserved to have lasting charm-

ing and splendor.

Two-story old wooden houses dominantly stands. When coming to Lom-Kao Municipality , it can be compared to the

first impression of all visitors. Most of wooden houses are in perfect condition like in the past more than 80 percent. There

are few of concrete building restoration. Particularly double row of curve wooden houses on the junction road in the market

area have the distinguishing characteristics. All wooden houses should be conserved and improved to be a stable condition

which related to the commercial activities , and to preserve the sustainable heritage of Lom-Kao Town.

In conclusion , all this is the purpose and the intention to inculcate an idea of

sustainable development to architecture students and young participants. The purpose is local

communities which is driven from the bottom (residents) as well as the upper level (District

organizations) to collabolate the contemplate doing. The conservation of the heritage of

the dominant cultural values can be living in the present and future social situation. This

activity sparked stakeholders at all levels. The power of VND.THAILAND to local communities

which its greatness and important nation of Thailand is a long civilization of our Thai people.
