What’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText?

I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition.

My wish would be for ImageReader to work with other scanners so I don’t need to go to the expense (or waste) of buying another one when I already have a HoverCam.

I would like to see ZoomText compatible with Dragon Naturally Speaking.

One simple thing I would include in the packaging is a nice big cheat sheet with the keyboard shortcuts. I know this information is in the book that comes with the software, but I always end up making cheat sheets for clients. Thanks!

Ability to have PDF image files read to me. Many of the PDF documents sent to me are in “image” format and I cannot read them using ZoomText now. I realize you now have the additional Image reader software, but don’t want to buy that for this one feature. Right now I have to print the document off, scan it in u and read using OpenBook. Sometimes I can do a “Save as Text” from the PDF document, but often this doesn’t work either.

I wish more than I wish for anything else that ZoomText would read Adobe files. My work has many files that are in Adobe and I can't access them with ZoomText :-(

The one feature I would like to see added to ZoomText is one that existed in a hardware-based (ISA card) screen enlarger from around 1999:  When a certain key combination is held down, the mouse can shift the display widow without Windows knowing anything about the shift. In other words, the mouse cursor did not move and Windows was not informed of anything changing, yet the enlarged portion of the screen could move around. This was

Page 2: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

extremely useful for reading at high magnification things that only pop up when the mouse is hovering over them, like toolbar button tooltips, expanding menus, etc. Many times I would like to keep the mouse cursor exactly where it is but see a little to the left or to the right, etc.

The feature of which I was thinking would allow the mouse to become "unlocked" from the mouse cursor so moving the view window can be done more quickly and parts of the screen far away can be rushed to quickly. An example of this would be when verifying that the status bar at the bottom of a custom window reflects the correct status when the mouse is hovering over a selected menu item:  I would like to be able to press this special key combination and then slide the mouse down and left to read the status bar quickly.

I would add a feature consisting of tips/hints from users of Zoom Text to aid others....

Long ago I used a program on the Mac called Quick Keys. You could program any key or combination and any mouse click combination to do just about anything. Even complex strings of keystrokes, mouse clicks, and other activity. You could even start it recording and perform and task and assign that to a keystroke to be replayed. It brought the power of creating macros and scripting to an easy to use level. Even if it were not as extensive as that, I would find some level of keystroke customization very useful in ZoomText. This capability could also be added to the ZoomText Keyboard. You already have similar capability for the custom keys on the keyboard. Why not make any modifier keystroke customizable?

I would like to see full support for Windows 7 Aero and font smoothing. Most of the visual appeal of Windows 7 is lost without Aero. And without Windows font smoothing enabled text is distorted at 1X zoom level and when ZoomText is disabled. I know these issues don’t apply to a lot of ZoomText users because their vision is past the point of Aero and 1X level being useful. But for many, such as myself, whose vision is not so impaired, we would still enjoy

Page 3: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

these features.

I think a good feature for ZoomText would be to able to use your android phone or tablet with a ZoomText app feature that helps you be able to see all your contacts in your cell phone or tablet.

App for Kindle Fire HD.

Add a camera that will be able to read everything.

Make Zoom Text available on ALL cellphones.  The other packages just do not do it for me!

I have a couple of requests that I would like to see in future releases of ZoomText.

o When in Web Finder and a search is done, the search term is highlighted on the web page. When the Web Finder window is closed, the highlight on the web page is removed, will it be possible to keep the highlight even after the Web Finder window is closed?

o Will it be possible to make the Doc Reader text based so that text can be copied etc.

o I think that a feature such as a Text Editor, with basic features similar to Notepad, will be very useful. Features of the Text Editor could include, changing background and foreground colours, zoom functionality that is different from the magnified screen. This could maybe assist with removing the formatting etc. from copied text and making it easier to edit the copied text. It would be nice if it were possible to select some text from a document or web page and open it directly in the text editor via a shortcut key or the like.  It would also be nice if it were possible to append text to the Text Editor if it were already open e.g. if I were in a document and would like to extract relevant paragraphs, I would be able to highlight the paragraph, press the “Copy to Text Editor” shortcut key, move to the next relevant paragraph and repeat the process, after which, I would have all relevant text in one document without having

Page 4: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

to switch between applications and having to find my place again in the original document.

The one feature that I would add to ZoomText is the ability to read CAPTCHAs out loud or to have zoom text have the ability to convert the CAPTCHA placed into all text format for those who are visually impaired and hard of hearing.

Add android support. I would have a speech feature that can be controlled with

keystrokes, like how it works with Magic.

In Mac OSX. An app that reads error messages. Also error messages that is a picture. For example, take a picture of the error message picture and converts it to txt. Also with speech or compatible with VoiceOver.

IF I HAD one wish, that would be for ZoomText to read to me when I’m in say a restaurant to read me the menu, or in a store to read me a price or the nutriti0onal labels ion the foods I want to buy. Ohhhh what a concept.

My suggestion is an option to exclude graphics when colors are inverted. Quite a few people I work with want their white on black for documents and websites, but they don't want their pictures to look like negatives, especially on sites with many graphics like Facebook.

Being able to reformat the text that I am currently looking at so that it fits within the width of the monitor screen. One problem I have with magnifying the screen is that too often, the text bleeds past the left and right edges of the monitor. This forces me to scroll left and right past the monitor screen edge to be able to see everything.

This panning motion is very disorienting, especially when it is done after you have reached the right edge of the line you are reading, and must now go to the left edge of the following line. I want a reflow function that will make the text of the article stay within the boundaries of the physical monitor screen. That way, I don't have to do any panning.

Page 5: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

ZoomText on Windows 8; how about a Tutorial Video showing how to use ZoomText on Windows 8 using a Multi-touch active screen &/or Tablet (not RT obviously). Role this into a Tutorial for those installing ZoomText on such system. Custom ZoomText Gestures and the like would be great to see in the tutorial. Consider Zoom on Android also. Both of these would compete with iPad 5x native Zoom.

Have the ability to scan many pages of any book, for the Reader function. It would bring more enjoyment to reading, than doing one page at a time. My other idea for a useful feature would be to have in the Tool section would be to have a PDF to File feature, one Click does it all as far getting the Doc ready for the Reader.

Full screen reading capability to match Jaws or Window Eyes. I would love ZoomText to become a full feature screen reader product that happens to have magnification capability instead of the magnifier program that happens to have some limited reading features.

I would like ZoomText magnifier to work better with Adobe Acrobat files; less blurring and pixelation would be welcome. This would eradicate the need to use Adobe's magnification capabilities which I am unable to control as readily.

A screen reader that works

A couple of suggestions for a future Upgrade would be:o Short-Cut keys strokes shown on menus.o A BETTER  Reader. A favorite of mine is

NaturalReader. The one in ZT 10 is NOT worth $0.10! Sorry to be blunt.  Had I realized this I would not have bought the version with the Reader included. It is NOT WORTH the extra bit of money paid for it. It can hardly put a sentence together without some errors.

As you may already know, a lot of web pages do not always display all text, etc. if you have to use high contrast and other drastic color changes due to low vision users. I suggest an app that you can put in your browser, up in the favorites bar with multiple color schemes that you can click and view multiple ones to be able to change to in a hurry

Page 6: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

and also be able to make your own scheme for web pages.

A zoom text toolbar may be an idea to add to ie or google chrome.A similar app is used in google chrome called high contrast, however this is only a basic program with only few options but I have found it somewhat helpful at times.

When on bottom task bar it has zt logo, would like to add what magnification i.e 6X, so I don’t have to bring it up.

I would like to see more versatility with the screen reader as it is what I use the most.

The 1 feature I would like to see, is a slow motion magnified ability with video games.

I hope that it would be possible to read PDF images.

I would like it if ZoomText and Microsoft could connect each time an update come out.

Feature to add: more magnification choices, or infinite choice.

I would like to see a more integrated version of ZoomText and ImageReader that can seamlessly read whatever is displayed on screen whether it is text or text in a graphical format.

Voice Commands

A very much needed feature for the network version of ZoomText is the ability to check for, download, and install updates through the HELP menu rather than having to wait for AI2 to send me a CD with the update.

My preferred new feature for ZoomText is voice recognition and typing similar to "dragon" but with AiS perfection.

The ability to zoom in and magnify a live camera image.  This would make the camera work much more like a standard CCTV and would improve the usefulness of the

Page 7: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

camera many times over.

The newest version of ZoomText added so many new features, I can’t think of anything else it needs at this time.

The desktop finder doesn't work until ZoomText, is running, and I need to find the icon to run ZoomText.

The one feature I would like to add to ZoomText is the question (?) button that was in previous version of ZoomText.  It was a useful feature for those new to ZoomText and provided quick access to Shortcut keys that one begins to use more and more as we become familiar with the programme.

Voiced spell check

I personally would LOVE a zoom in and out on the view window with the mouse scroll wheel for WINDOWS 7. Possible function suggestion: A hot key combo like ALT + mouse scroll wheel up (to zoom in) and ALT + mouse scroll wheel down (to zoom out). This would be awesome!

For ZoomText to work with “Google Earth”.

Speech recognition for adding new contacts. This is something that you can't do is zoom text or an apple and would be a Pierpont to fit for both soon text on iMac and the zoom Contacts app on the iPad and iPhone.

Faster focus on the camera feature.

I would want the “Reader” speed rate faster.  “Openbook” has their reader engine rate faster than Zoom text.  If I have a lot of material to read I use Openbook not ZoomText.  Because ZoomText is to slow.  Blind people that use readers need more speed when we have to read many pages for work and school related projects. Or when I have research to do for work.  MORE SPEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure this would be a feature or not but it would be great if it worked clearly with all web pages.

Page 8: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

I became blind overnight, literally, but was able to return to my work for a corporate bank as a customer service (inbound bankcard calls) because of ZoomText. However, it doesn't work well with PDF files or some of my screens that are very light colored by bank design, help files etc.  I miss a lot of info. My employer just ordered me the upgrade to 10.0, so maybe that will fix some problems that started for me in January 2008, returned to work January 2009, receive total disability and am still working part time thanks to ZoomText.  Sadly, I am still using the 8.0 version at home.

One feature I would add to ZT is the ability to have contrast changes revert back and forth when mouse, pointer, cursor has moved from a high contrast to low contrast area on the screen.  Currently a white pointer stays white on black or white background. Therefore the pointer disappears. If you need further clarification, please ask. Thanks for all you do to make ZT better.

There is one thing I would like to see on Zoom Text, that would be a feature that automatically adjust power settings between videos & text according to users most commonly used settings.

The one feature I would love to see is Android support! Because of the ability to change a lot more of the interface, I feel Android is a much better mobile platform than iOS for low vision. Big launcher is proof of that, and the range of hardware - you can't get an iPhone with a 5.5" screen! The OCR like you have on iOS would be great, you could make a Challenger for big launcher if you want but a couple of areas I think would really be great are a browser with options for low vision, force a minimum text size, colours (ideally with the option to leave images in their natural colour), and wrapping text to The screen. Also a large print email app would be nice too! That's what I'd love to see!

The one feature that I would add to ZoomText is the ability to keep AppReader running when going to a new window. For example, when I am reading a multi-page document (like in an online course) I need to stop the AppReader, click to the next page, and then restart AppReader. The same

Page 9: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

issue applies when going from any one program or site to another.

Thank you for asking the question. It will be interesting to see what suggestions are made, and then to discover what new things ZoomText will do in the future!

I would like to see Zoom Text made compatible with Open Office. Considering how expensive Zoom Text is it is important to save money and use an Open Source writing program like Open Office instead of spending even more on Word.

ZoomText itself is great as it is. In addition to making ZoomText available on Windows and Macintosh systems, it would be great if it were available on Linux systems. I have not seen acceptable screen magnification software on Linux Platforms.

More choice of colours for settings such as pointer, cursor, focus etc. I would love to see all the same colour choices as one has for font colours. I think that ZT has so many wonderful features it is rather hard to think of anything else that is needed. Thanks for the great job all of you do.

I'd like the Speak-It tool to do OCR - so it could read anything a user draws a rectangle over.

Chrome Support

To be able to use on cell phones.

Have an androids version.

Recognize language of the text therefore zoom text change automatically to read the text at.

The one feature I would like to see in ZoomText above all others is AppReader support for Google Chrome.

I used to have zoom text on my PC and loved the app reader tool. I could have documents in word and PDF format

Page 10: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

read to me and the letters were tracked on the page as the Paul voice read them out loud. I also used the tool to read stuff off the Internet. I have just changed over to the Mac and while there is zoom text for Mac it is missing the reader tool. Please bring the reader tool with the Paul voice to the mac.  Thank you for your time.

To me, ZoomText is absolutely perfect as is.

I would like to see ZoomText contain language recognition.  Even though I speak, read, and write the English language completely, I speak a second language, and in my case it’s Greek.  Most people in the US and Canada speak more than one language because of their backgrounds, being visually impaired I’m limited but thanks to software like ZoomText I have access to the internet but only in English, not in my second language Greek.

The one feature that I would add to ZoomText is multiple, switchable custom color settings.

The feature I want the most is for true multi monitor use.

I think it would be great if ZoomText could read those PDFs that are created when people scan documents.

I would add a pictorial of a screen with a dot or square that shows you where your mouse or cursor is focused. If you were on the top left the dot or square would be in the top left corner. As you move the dot or square would also move showing you’re your relative position on the screen. For new ZT users it is sometimes hard to figure out where they are located relative to all the information a fully sighted individual would see. This should be something that could be brought up or turned off at will.

Better speech functionality.

The one feature I would add to ZoomText is a dictation component- where I could dictate a letter etc. and ZoomText would write it out and read it back whenever I wanted it to. Thank you for your help.

Page 11: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

I would love to be able to access a link while in Doc or AppReader mode, as those two tools are the most used in my daily computing.

That can be any kind of background color of screen, to get a contrast suitable to each person.

Reduce the sale value to be more affordable to different disadvantaged, that do not charge the same as a normal person.

One feature I would like added to Zoom Text is the capability to work with touchscreen computers IE all in one monitor.

I have a Mac computer, and was excited when I heard you had ZoomText for Mac, but then let down when it does not support "Dual Monitors" which I use, and need in my work. I would ask that you add "Dual Monitor" support to your ZoomText for Mac.

I would love it if there was a version for Linux.

New user to Zoom Text but can’t find this option.

When on an option in the ZoomText application, allow for F1 (believe it’s the Micro Soft default Help Key) or right Mouse click to take you directly to help on that option. i.e. if I click the Color button then settings I should be able to get help on just those settings on that popup window and what they do. Should not have to search since I find search usually works best if you know the key words to search for which isn’t always what a user thinks they are trying to do.

Being Zoom Text has so many options it’s hard to know what it can do, another option may be to have a “Did you know” when you open Zoom Text to tell you about an option.

Thanks for doing this, find it a good way for suggestions.

Page 12: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

Hi There Folks,

(I got my first version of ZoomText around 1998, and in 2001 & I had eye surgery. I still used the screen reader software on my Windows driven computer after my surgery and my vision improved. Around 2008 or so I had to upgrade my software, and I continued to use the magnification application within ZoomText. Today my eyesight is starting to decline rapidly due to degeneration and scar tissue & detachments of the retina. I am having lots of floaters, flashes, and visual migraines; extremely light sensitive, too. I have low vision even though my visual acuity has been tested to 20/25 with corrective lenses.

*As a side note: My Windows driven computer no longer works, so I can no longer benefit from ZoomText w/ the screen reader I already purchased. My eyes need to rest often. ) I do not know if this is in the "works" ...yet; But, I would have to say I would add a screen reader to ZoomText for Mac as soon as Ai Squared can (of course not infringing on anyone's, any corporation's rights, copyrights, or trademarks.). I would also try to incorporate said software applications within other applications (i.e. - ZoomReader and ZoomContacts) used in conjunction with Apple devices and the technology apps -such as SIRI and other voice input and recognition software- used with those devices. (I do not know if it is already out there, but I have been told it was not from vendors who specialize in this field. (That is kind of an ironic statement because... isn't that what Apple's hidden app SIRI and/ or TellNote does anyway...) I will continue to follow up on this.)

And have all... of your said Ai Squared apps in the iCloud or another network... so when you need these apps you can have them, and you can use them on more than one Apple device (iMac, iPhone, and iPad) at the same time. Have all Ai Squared apps a person needs in a group package. (I know this is happening already with other apps- sort of on the package deal, but the last thing an unemployed person with low vision wants to do is purchase the same software app for more than one device. I understand companies want to improve their bottom lines and make money, and I

Page 13: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

am okay with that. I know about licensing computers and software application licenses. I also understand... This software -especially specialized software/ hardware for the visually impaired and blind- and software apps as well as the hardware and phone/data plans are expensive! (People with vision issues will shell out 2 to 5 times more money than a sighted person for a computer... I know. I have done it many times.)

You may tell yourself[ves] : "Well, people with low vision get breaks and are enrolled in special state programs to help them with their independence; " And, most people with huff and turn and walk away. I got news for them. To some point that is true; BUT, It is harder getting qualified for said programs, and if you have been trained before you do not get assistance again. In addition, most people with low vision do not get anything because they are not blind and their vision is corrected to 20/25 -- close to what people call vision/eye sight as being normal- somehow. (Yeah, I have low vision, and my eyes are straining and over working creating more damage. I am careful and I am using things I already have. It is taking me longer (about 5 to 6 times longer).... This to some degree hampers my independence.) Regardless, they fall between the cracks. (I am here now...)

I understand Apple's VoiceOver does work (I am glad to say works across their line of newer devices) with the ZoomText software presently, but sometimes it is less confusing to work with just one software company. It is less frustrating when a person in my position has a basic understanding of ZoomText (and has proudly been a customer with the company for years) has trouble with the computer and has to change -due to reasons beyond her control- thus losing the helpful software (hampers her in employment opportunities; thus hampers independence. Frustrating isn't it.), and the person gets frustrated even more so...trying to learn a new computer with a another application to assist people within the scope of his/her present ever changing condition.

This is especially true when people have other disabilities compounded by low vision issues or who are blind.

Page 14: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

Please...please forgive my rambling, syntax-grammatical errors and other typos; I am doing the best I can with what I have. I love you folks at Ai Squared, and I am glad you always listened to me and others who are out there using your products. I have suggested your ZoomText software to a few people myself. You have stood behind them and along side me in my journey so far... since day one. It is time I do the same for you for the greater.

To be honest... one of the reasons why I have not purchased ZoomText for Mac today is because of the aforementioned. I will keep checking... Stay True to your company's mission. It is an awesome one.

When selecting 'Hot Keys', there should be a more descriptive error message telling you what hot key function is in conflict with the one desired.  Instead, we have to go through every hot key letter to see what is already programmed.

Have ZoomText identify each and every pop-up as well as any updating taking place which may be interfering with proper, uninterrupted operation of computer programs!

I would like to have ZoomText read all of a webpage, not just text based portions.

My preferred ZoomText feature would be an improved screen reader easily navigating on a text with the arrow keys reading either by characters, words, lines or paragraph.  Improving the web page reading capability would also be nice.

The one feature I would like is for ZoomText Reader to be easier to allow reading of PDF documents.

I would like to see the text wrap to screen.

The ZoomText feature that would help me most would be something that resides online or on the computers of people that I interact with that would tell them whether or not what they were about to send to me will be accessible to me through ZoomText.  In a way, show non-end-users if things

Page 15: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

are accessible and exactly how they will be read/viewed by the user of ZoomText without having to train that second person and without having to buy a second ZT license.

This is somewhat challenging…but the virtual world has already multinational websites accommodating the meeting of minds along the English language e.g. UK Disable concerned communities with those here in North America.

Maybe incorporating some bit of Artificial Intelligence link that can assist meeting of minds between folks with disabled concerns…but in different languages, can link them through some sort of translating Avatar based service??  So that text-captioning can take place and bring the 2 together to have a discourse on their concerns. WOW!

I know that Japan Telecom is way ahead in this area with real-time voice based interpreting A.I. …and that had to be a major capital outlay in R&D.  But a text-based service embedded in ZoomText might prove of real value to some of your customer base…and there must be a lot of universities in the U.S. with some research along these lines.

One feature I'd like to see in ZoomText is the option to slow down the movement of the mouse pointer when zoom is enabled.

Example: With zoom turned off (or with ZoomText turned off) when I move my mouse 10 on my table the mouse pointer moves 10 cm on my monitor as well. I´m used to that, this has been the situation for about 15 years.

With zoom turned on / enabled: when I move the mouse 10 cm on my table the mouse pointer moves very rapidly. I only want the mouse pointer to move the same 10 cm on my screen as described earlier. Instead it moves very fast.

Is it possible to slow down the movement of the mouse pointer according to the zoom factor? When set to zoom=x2 the mouse pointer would move only half the speed, when set to zoom=x3 the mouse pointer speed would go down to

Page 16: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

33 percent.

I would like to see a ZoomText option for voice recognition for hands-free use of ZoomText.   I’m thinking maybe not for all versions, but a special piece of software for those with physical impairments who also need the visual enhancement that ZoomText offers.  Voice recognition software is out there anyway so why not combine them?

Chrome Browser support.

Read all PDF files. Speech commands or voice activation as an alternative.

Just enable all the features that are already installed.  The reader will not meet all the documents.  Always some excuse why it can't be done.

Since a lot of sites and attachments are PDF format.  Make the reader read them.  If ZoomText had a converter built in PDF to text.  Then when the reader was activated on a PDF it would convert the PDF to text and read it.

If you are asking about ZoomText for PC, then I’d suggest full support for Chrome.

However, if you are asking about ZoomText for Mac, then I’d suggest dual monitor support.  This semester, I have been using dual monitor Primary clone at 1x so that my visual interpreters can see what I’m doing as I program in Alice (www.alice.org) for one of my classes.

Also, I’m not sure what it is on a Mac, but on PC, there is now increased interest in spanning across three displays instead of two – especially for gaming.  But, for laptops, it would be good if I can use two external displays while my laptop is closed, such that one display is magnified and the other is cloned at 1x.  When I’m working for long periods of time, it’s more comfortable to work in a desktop environment rather than trying to kill my back leaning in order to see the laptop’s screen for long periods of time.

I'd like more flexibility when moving the edges of the "lens"

Page 17: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

view to the shape that I want for different accounting software and excel spreadsheets.  I use a 46" TV for a computer monitor.  Thanks.

Ability to sync the Zoom Text on my desktop computer with my other gadgets that plug into my computer. For example, iPod, iPhone, GPS, iPad, etc.

I think that would be nice to have a Facebook icon in the ZoomText…

Reading support for Google Chrome.

Make ZoomText Mac needs online formatting for Microsoft Office.

The one feature that would be great is if ZoomText can keep the pictures in it's original colors even when changing colors of background and text. This way we can keep our computers with our desired background and text colors without compromising our pictures.

Another feature that would be great if SpeakIt tool could read text on images too.

Saving size/color preferences for particular programs/webpages so that pages automatically adjust.

Full compatibility with Adobe PDF.

I want a dictionary added.

If I could add one feature to ZoomText, I would add a setting or toolbar that would allow users to interact with PDF files. I wish ZoomText's DocReader could read any type of file so that I could use ZoomText for everything, instead of having to purchase additional software to have PDFs read to me. If made available, this "interactive PDF" setting would also include tools for user to interact with PDF files: bookmarks, notes, and highlighting would be very helpful. I use another program to do this but using it while running ZoomText can be frustrating at times.

Page 18: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

Much of the information we gather comes in the form of PDF files and for many of us, PDFs are inaccessible. For the files that are accessible with DocReader or AppReader, they are not as functional for other, sighted, users, because we can't highlight and annotate these files like other people can and the technology that assists with this is expensive and sometimes "argues" with ZoomText.

One feature that I would add to ZoomText is support for Google’s Chrome browser. And with that request, please add better browser support overall, including IE, Firefox, and Chrome (top 3); too often, my experience with ZoomText and supported browsers (IE and FF) is still buggy at best. Please develop better support for browsers. Thank you for listening.

Please have it be able to read PDF files!

I have been wracking my brains out trying to figure out an additional feature for Zoom Text in future releases.  I am not very tech savoy or creative.  I thought of a couple of things but am not sure if they already exist or if it is even possible to produce.

First, in an ideal world, it would be nice to be able to use voice command.  I know applications like dragon exist and I do not own it so cannot relate to whether it would be able to command Zoom Text to change color enhancements or turn on app or doc reader.  I know I have the keyboard with the shortcuts but not everyone does nor does everyone have just one computer.

Second, in earlier versions of Zoom Text, when you entered the password into a website, the typing echo would read the letters you entered.  Not convenient for people who are logging into sites in a group setting such as work.  However, in the privacy of my own home, it is not an issue.  In order to be certain that I am entering the right password without making any typos, I usually type my password into a document and copy and paste it into the field for password

on the site I am logging into.  I need to do this especially for the online banking as if you type it in wrong three times, you have your online banking shut down and have to reset everything.  So it would be nice to have an option in the tool box to have a secure password entry or not.  Saves a step or two if you are using a keyboard that does not have large typeface keys.

Third thing and there may be a solution that already exists for this.  On my new computer, I am using windows classic for my desk Top.  It has a black background or wallpaper.  My pointer displays clearly on this and it makes it easy for me to see where my pointer is on the screen.  When I open an application, I am still able to locate the pointer as I use black and white invert for my ZT color enhancement scheme.  However, the buttons for minimize, maximize, and close buttons are in white.  Since my pointer is either white or yellow, it is hard to find the pointer tip to see if it is on the x to close a program.  I know, I can go to file and close or exit.  Laziness would like it if the pointer would either blink or change color when it is pointed at the x in the upper right hand corner.  Do not know if there is a Zoom Text trick that I am not just aware of when it comes to pointer enhancement.

I am sending in this information for the contest now.  But, if I think of other improvements for future releases or upgrades in zoom Text, I will be sure to let you know.  Oh yes, I forgot to mention when discussing the password entry, that there is a program out there called ID Vault which allows you to come up with a digit or pin number for all of your websites.  But the program does not work well, it is costly and you need to renew every year.  What you do is enter your websites usernames and passwords into the app and then when you go to visit a site that you have entered such as Amazon, you get a dialog box that you enter your pin and the info is automatically entered.  It would be cool if ZT did this but do not know how secure it would be.

While I am not sure it is "possible", it would be wonderful if there was a way to more easily read Captcha’s. The often unclear text is very difficult for my vision to be able to

understand. While often you will find an "accessible" Captcha in the form of an audio file, the audio file is so distorted that I have a better chance at figuring out the graphical text! Since I am not only a user of ZoomText, I also teach ZoomText as an adaptive technology instructor, I have found that a huge portion of my clients just don't have the ability to routinely visually read the code nor can they understand the audio file.

I wear a headset and use the speaking features of ZoomText extensively at work and at home. The ONE feature I would add to ZoomText is voice commands.

There are a lot of hotkeys to remember. If I am able to give commands to ZoomText via the mouthpiece of my headset, I will be more efficient.

My answer is around CONTRAST. When I change my Mac ZoomText contrast to white on black it would be nice if the cursor would change back and forth depending on where it is positioned.  Currently when contrast is enabled I loose the cursor when it is on a dark background. Even the flashing circle options for high contrast aren't good enough.

Please add the magnifications levels of 2.25 and 2.75.  I need them desperately.  It is too big a jump from 2 to 2.5 to 3 many times.  This is what I would like added to ZoomText.

I like the Apple Voiceover feature, which reads the text under your finger. It's faster to scan through a page to fine something. It might work as follow:

1. Chose reading type with mouse wheel, like link/line/word..

2. Click on link/line/word, to start reading.3. Right/Left arrow or Right/Left mouse button, to go

to next or previous line/word.

I would like to see a sliding scale of costs for ZT & upgrades.

The App I would like the most, is a PDF reader. Another App I would recommend is an OCR similar to Red Iris, I feel it is a bit of a rip off to pay for anther product to do this. I have had ZT since v6.12 and have spent a lot of money for

Page 21: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

upgrades, I know you offer the converge for such, but I never know how current I will be upgrading my computer to. I am currently running Win 8/ X64, and have been told it will cost another #199, but as I look through the Mag screen, and see the waves in the print, I doubt I will spend it. Sorry to ramble on ZT is an excellent product, and I always tell others about it.

If there was one feature I would add, it would be an option with the Invert Brightness feature.  I use this feature all the time and it is very helpful, but if a feature existed where background and text is inverted, but image files (.jpeg, .gif) are not inverted, that would be ideal.  When a page has images, I find myself having to turn off the Invert Brightness feature to get decent look at the image.

I use the inverted colors setting but that makes images inverted as well. I would like a color option that inverts text and backgrounds but not images. PLEASE!!!

The feature that would be most important to be is the document camera. I would like to see more text and background colors added like pink or purple. Also for the windows keyboard you have for ZoomText users can you get one that is in pink or purple and give the option to have it run wirelessly or not. Also can you work on you dual monitor options and add something where I can run dual monitor but also I would get a projector display option as well so when doing presentation I can have the modified view for my use but the presentation audience sees the standard view making it where it is more flexible and making it where I can have more controls.

The feature I would most like to see in ZoomText is an application color-changing engine that doesn't require any scripting, so when a user encounters an application that does not follow the user-selected system color settings, they could adjust settings on-the-fly, possibly through a wizard.

So many applications hard-code their color schemes that it makes it very difficult to use them without turning off all customized system color settings and hoping that one of

Page 22: Web viewWhat’s the ONE feature you would add to ZoomText? I would like to see a feature that would reduce the blurring of text caused by my eye condition

the stock ZT color schemed will do everything that's needed.  Since it seems unlikely that software developers are going to get the idea that the form of data is less important than its substance, adaptive technology needs to adapt to this design concept.

While I'm here, I have an unrelated question:  Now that ZoomText is available for Mac, are there any plans to continue the port to Linux?

An Android version for my Smartphone.

I would add a scroll bar focus. I would like a little colored squares around the up and down arrows at all times, and I would like the scroll bar to be some obvious color. I'm on Windows 8, and really struggling with scrolling (even with magnifier running while I wait for an 8-compatible ZT version) because the contrast is so poor.

I would add spell checker.

I use my ZoomText every day on my computer.  There are no features I would add or take away because I think all the features they have are great.   Very good question.

It would help me most to have the same kind of compatibility in all major web browsers as in Internet Explorer. I work a lot with Firefox and increasingly more with Chrome, and it’s difficult not to have the same level of accessibility in those browsers as in IE.

The one thing I would add to Zoom Text is to have it so it would read anything and everything including what is on the Desktop, which would be the Icons, Clock and buttons.

I wanted to send in my entry to the next ZoomNews contest.  The one feature I would add to ZoomText is the ability for the reader to read Greek letters and math symbols (I am a grad student and do a lot of math, so this would be very helpful).
