Priča o našem vinogradu na Vinogorju Komarna, započela je stenjanjem

teških strojeva koji su zarinuli svoje čelične čeljusti u kamene gromade,

šikarje i makiju, rujudi pohlepno grumenčide zemlje. Teške kamene

gromade, sitnile su se i drobile pod udarcima šiljastih čekida i modne tehnike

stvarajudi kaldrmane plohe pripremljene za daljnja drobljenja i rad.

Prekopani obronci, sablasno obojani od makije i šikarja, samo su nakratko

odahnuli.

Modni teški stroj, zatutnjao je svojim čeličnim zubima, mičudi se puževim

korakom, a pravilno zfrobljene gredice kamena i zemlje, počeše se slagati

poput stranica knjige-jedna na drugu, poput morskih valova, što se u

pravilnim razmacima valjaju jedan za drugim.

Neravne udoline i kameni humci, postajahu sve ravniji, da bi se na kraju

kada su modni zubi sve zdrobili, sve skršili i posložili u stotine gredica,

uprizorile hektarske površine bududeg vinograda.

Došao je dan kada su zasađeni prvi trsovi. Ukamenu udrobinu tiskale su se

mlade sadnice, kako bi svojim korijenom prigrlile bar grumenčid zemlje,

čekajudi dar s neba - kišu Božju.

Uskoro, mladice loze orošiše se prvim izbojima i prutidima, pretvorene u

zelene zmijolike redove koji su se na dnu strmine utapali u more.

Nakon prve pljevidbe ukazale su se prve čeljubice, prvi grozdidi, pokazujudi

se skoro stidljivo, kao da su željeli ostati samozatajni, prkosedi ponosno i

kamenu i mjestu svog čudesnog uzdignuda.

Započe tako nova priča o tajni komarskog vinogorja. U toj priči sve je

prirodno, kao Bogom dano; od sadnje, uzgoja, zaštite, prehrane sve do

berbe i prerade.

Story of our vineyard started with moaning of heavy machines after they

plunged their teeth of steel into the hunks of stone, thicket and macchia,

grubbing insatiably chunks of soil. Heavy stone hunks crushed under the

strikes of spiryhammers and powerful technology creating paved planes to

be chrused processed further on. Shovelled slopes, gruesomely painted with

macchia and thicket rested briefly.

Powerful heavy machine rumbled with its steel teeth moving foward in snail

steps to form shapely crashed gardenbeds of stone and earth which began

to fold like pages of a book - one on top of the other, like waves on the sea

rolling in regular intervals one behind the other.

Uneven waves and stone hills become even and at last, after powerful teeth

crushed them allthey folded in hundreds of gardens beds and formed the

spectacle upon hectares of area of the future vineyard. The day come for the

first vine to be planted. Young plantes were pushed into the stone soil to

embrace at least a chunk of earth with it roots, waiting for the gift from

heaven - rain of God.

Soon, young vine plants dewed with the first and twigs transformed into

green viperfish rows drowing into the sea at the and of the slopes.

After the first removal of leaves first clusters and grapes have emerged

showing itself almost looking coy as if they wanted to stay withdrawn,

defying proudly to the stone and to the place of their miraculous genesis.

That was how this new story about the secret of Komarna vineyard had

started. In this story everything is natural, God given; from planting,

cultivation, protection, nutrition, until harvest and processing.

PLAVAC MALI

Plavac mali je hrvatska autohtona sorta i jedna od

najrasprostranjenijih i gospodarski najvažnija sorta

vinove loze. Nastala je spontanom hibridizacijom

hrvatskih autohtonih sorti Crljenka kaštelanskog ( u

italiji poznat kao Primitivo, a u Americi Zinfandel) i

Dobričida. Najbolje rezultate daje na južnim

padinama, sa obiljem sunca i topline. Kasna sorta,

debele kožice koja je čvrste građe i puna šedera.

Tipični plavci su izrazito južnjačka vina, više ili manje

trpkasta i gorkasta (ali ne i gorka) okusa, obično suhi,

a vrlo rijetko (u iznimno dobrim godinama) i s malim

ostatkom neprovrela šedera. Boja im je

ljubičastotamnocrvena s modrim refleksima (pa im

otuda možda potječe i ime), a sortna aroma

nenaglašena, diskretna i ugodna. Plavac, pa i onaj

vrhunski, bio je oduvijek pide i hrana običnoga težaka

i ribara, ali i ukras najluksuznijem stolu.

Plavac is Croatian autochthonous variety and one of

the most widespread and economically most

important grape variety. It was created by a

spontaneous hybridization of Croatian autochthonous

varieties Crljenk kaštelanski (known in Italy as

Primitivo and Zinfandel America) and Dobričid. Best

results are obtained on the southern slopes, with

plenty of sun and heat. Late variety, thick skin that is

solidly built and full of sugar. Typical Plavac mali are

distinctly southern wines, more or less soft tannins

and bitter (but not bitter) taste, usually dry, and very

rarely (in exceptionally good years) and low residual

sugar. Their color is purple and scarlet with blue

reflections (and hence they may have originated in

the name), a delightful aroma unaccented, discreet

and comfortable. Plavac, including the top, he was

always drink and food of ordinary farmers and

fishermen, but also luxurious table decoration.
