I would like to start by Thanking you for taking the time tohave a read, of Vintage Couture by Kels Pick & Mix.

This booklet has been put together by myself, to explain what Pick & Mixis, (which we all already know as a bag of sweets that we chooseourselves), and to give you inspiring ideas to create your own VintageCreations. Invaluable advice and step by step instructions to work yourway to a final skirt, dress or something more special.

For those of you that know me, you know that I love nothing more than to design, create and put together someone s dream dress, the waythey have specified. And, to see the happiness on the clients face whenthey have there garment. Whether your a Vintage Purist, or prefer to puta Modern Spin on your vintage wear, I hope I can help you find andcreate your dream dress.

Design your own dress...Your dress and or Garment, can be made as a full item or asseperates. If only looking for a top or bottom then thats finetoo.

You can have a Lace Overlay, straps or no straps, petticoat (ifrequired).

How it all Works?

Once you've decided on your favourite look for your Vintage/Retro look, send me apersonal message or Email me on [email protected]. I will reply with allthe details you need to decide if you would like to make an appointment, at this

point we can discuss fabric, measurements and whats next!

At your first appointment, we can discuss different combinations of bodice / topsection / skirt styles until you find the perfect and most flattering design for you.

At this point or after you leave I will put a Sketch together, covering what we havediscussed, I will also do a quote which will included Fabrics, Accessories etc.. thatyou have requested. I will also give you a date for a follow up appointment, on thisdate I will have made a Mock up of your chosen design, for you to try. That we will

be able to nip ine where necessary.

At your final appointment youll get to try on your finished garment, and be giventhe chance to make any final alterations before leaving with your finished design.

Initial Consultation: Free of Charge(This includes Chat, Sketches, Taking Measurements & final quote)

30% Deposit required either on receipt of excepting quote & Final paymentexpected on receiving Garment. However, can be paid up between these two

dates


Customize and design your dress/garment

I make and design dresses/garments for all occasions. Have a weddingand want to add a splash of bling or sequence to your Vintage/retro

look, then we can discuss this at your appointment.

Or your the bride, you want Satin and Lace, I can do that to!

Or just a night out with friends, and looking for a dress thats a littledifferent, with a bit of body and the WOW factor, I can also do that!

Any occasion, any vintage era, any style!

And, all your DESIGN!!!


The Back of your Dress/garment

Your fastening and the back of your dress/garmentare just as important, as the front of your dress/garment... low backs,

lacecovered styles, keyhole designs....


Fittings & Measurements

On your first appointment, we will discuss your measurements .i.e.size(s) you regularly purchase, what your comfy in etc...).

From there if your comfy I will take a few measurements, which will berecorded down for my use only. With these measurements and whatwe have discussed, I will make a Mock up of your dress.

At your next appointment, we will use the Mock up to fit you preciselyto your garment. Putting in any final nips or tucks that are needed. And, then Ill go on to complete your final garment using you Mock upas a pattern.

If for what ever reason you cant make the first appointment, I will emailor post you a measurement instruction sheet, so you can take yourown measurements and send them back to me. The best way to dothis is to stand tall, facing forward and getting a friend or your partnerto help you. The forms have exact guide lines of where has to bemeasured, so easy enough to follow.

My aim is always to pleasethe client/customer, and i want nothing more than this process frommeasurement to final garment to be nothing more than fun andenjoyable, and at the end of it you get to say " I designed this dressmyself, with the help of my dress maker"x

Sketching Process:

This was a detailed sketch, as customer couldnt make firstappointment. So sketches where done and then posted alongwith samples to her home.

Customer then contacted me using FB private mail, tochange some things and make alterations to sketches. As, the samples i sent were navy blue lace and a whitesatin, but her preference was navy blue lace with navyblue satin, and she then decided to go with an openback key hole effect. So, once all this was clarified,deposit was paid and work began.

Conclusion

With my new Pick & Mix range i hope to give the Customer/Client thefreedom of expression. You the customer get to design your dress

(vintage/retro) from scratch. Putting in Keyholes, adding lace, organzaoverlay, a multicoloured petticoat!

Its all TOTALLY your choice.

Your first consultation is FREE of charge, and after that you will have afurther 2 appointments where you can make additional alterations, if

you wish anymore meetings after that then thats fine too.

My aim is to please the customer/client.
