Overcoming Fear and Weakness
Volume 1, Issue 6
All around us everyday,
there are people shutting
down Christian’s rights to
speak and live freely on this
earth. They took prayer and
the right to mention God out
of our schools and look at the
system now. They passed
laws that separated church
and state and look at our
country now. They went to
court to take God’s name
from the Pledge of Alle-
giance. They now want to
say that marriage is not just
between a man and woman.
When does it stop?!!
Why is it that everyone
else seems to be going to
court and fighting (verbally)
for what they want except
the Christians? Are we that
afraid to stand up and fight
for our beliefs? Are we in
agreement with what’s hap-
pening? Are we fulfilling
God’s purpose for guiding
others to Christ on this earth?
Have we become compla-
cent? Are we more interested
in raising money for a new
church, more so than sharing
the Word of God?
I AM NOT SAYING THAT
WE SHOULD BE FANATICS!
I am saying that we
should not be ashamed to
speak up for what we feel is
right. Everyone else seems to
be doing it! We must stand
up and fight the devil and his
angels. We are dealing with
the principalities that we

Just Be You
The one thing teenagers have a
hard time doing is just being who they are. In
high school, the one thing you want be is
accepted by your peers and being yourself
may not be what your peers would want as a
friend. So we will change to fit others expecta-
tions and by fitting their expectations we
never get to show others who we really are.
Becoming a totally different person is
like putting on a mask. When you wear a
mask your face is hidden from the outside
world and no one knows who you are. You
follow the crowd trying to fit in and feel ac-
cepted, but to be honest, you were never
really accepted. The reason you were not
really accepted is because you are not being
yourself. Your persona was accepted, but not
you, because the real you still wears the mask
and still seeks acceptance. So the only way to
be truly accepted is to just be you!

Praise the Lord!
There's a little old Christian lady living next door to an atheist. Every morning the lady comes out onto her front porch and shouts
"Praise the Lord!".
The atheist yells back, "There is no
God".
She does this every morning with the same result. As time goes on, the lady runs into financial difficulties and has trouble buying food.
She goes out onto the porch and asks God for help with groceries, then says
"Praise the Lord".
The next morning she goes out onto
the porch and there's the groceries she asked for, and of course, she
shouts "Praise the Lord!!!".
The atheist jumps out from behind a bush and says, "Ha, I bought those groceries - there
is no God".
The lady looks at him and smiles, she shouts "Praise the Lord, not only did you provide for me Lord, you made Satan
pay for the groceries!!"

The following verse will provide encourage-
ment to you and scare the devil:
Psalm 27:1
“The LORD is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear? The LORD is the
stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be
afraid?”
Spurgeon Exposition
The Lord is my light and my salvation. Here
is personal interest, "my light, ""my salva-
tion; "the soul is assured of it, and therefore,
declaring it boldly. "My light; " --into the
soul at the new birth divine light is poured as
the precursor of salvation; where there is not
enough light to see our own darkness and to
long for the Lord Jesus, there is no evidence
of salvation. Salvation finds us in the dark,
but it does not leave us there; it gives light to
those who sit in the valley of the shadow of
death. After conversion our God is our joy,
comfort, guide, teacher, and in every sense
our light; he is light within, light around, light
reflected from us, and light to be revealed to
us. Note, it is not said merely that the Lord
gives light, but that he "is" light; nor that he
gives salvation, but that he is salvation; he,
then, who by faith has laid hold upon God
has all covenant blessings in his possession.
Every light is not the sun, but the sun is the
father of all lights. This being made sure as a
fact, the argument drawn from it is put in the
form of a question, Whom shall I fear? A
question which is its own answer. The pow-
ers of darkness are not to be feared, for the
Lord, our light, destroys them; and the dam-
nation of hell is not to be dreaded by us, for
the Lord is our salvation. This is a very differ-
ent challenge from that of boastful Goliath, for
it is based upon a very different foundation; it
rests not upon the conceited vigour of an arm of
flesh, but upon the real power of the omnipotent
I AM. The Lord is the strength of my life. Here
is a third glowing epithet, to show that the
writer's hope was fastened with a threefold cord
which could not be broken. We may well accu-
mulate terms of praise where the Lord lavishes
deeds of grace. Our life derives all its strength
from him who is the author if it; and if he
deigns to make us strong we cannot be weak-
ened by all the machinations of the adversary.
Of whom shall I be afraid? The bold question
looks into the future as well as the present. "If
God be for us, "who can be against us, either
now or in time to come?
blessings. Jesus' death and resur-
rection were blessings, just think
about where we as Believers
would be if He hadn't done all of
this for us. I believe that God
wants us to be thankful for bless-
ings that aren't just tangible. What
would we have if God decided to
take away all of the materialistic
blessings that we have? We would
only have our faith to hold onto
because there would be nothing
else. We need to focus on being
What is a blessing? Many people
focus on blessings that are materi-
alistic, things that we can see.
Many times we forget the bless-
ings that God gives us that we
can't always physically see. How
often do you thank for your heart-
beat, for the air in your lungs, for
sanity? God has blessed us in too
many ways to count. At times, it
may even be in the form of great
friendships and relationships. To
have peace, joy, and faith are also
thankful that we are SAVED and
that we have FAITH in Jesus' work
on the cross, the ultimate blessing!
So, I'll leave you with a Biblical
quote from Hebrews 11:6, “And
without faith it is impossible to
please God, because anyone who
comes to Him must believe that He
exists and that He rewards those
who earnestly seek Him”. Faith
first, blessings later. God Bless.

was feeling better, she left to gather
some clothing from her grandmother’s
apartment. While inside she found the
old Bible her grandmother gave her
about six years before. Its pages were
bent and worn from use.
Without fail, Martha read and stud-
ied her Bible on a daily basis. She
learned this from her grandmother. Ms.
Lucy often told her that she needed to
study the Word and to put what she
learned into action. Martha felt the
words leapt off the pages and provided
comfort, encouragement, and support
in her daily life.
As she flipped through the pages,
she rested on Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the
Lord with all your heart and lean not on
your own understanding; in all your
ways acknowledge Him, and He will
make your paths straight.” Martha read
slowly and meditated on this scripture.
At this time, she was beginning to feel

you Ms. Kathleen,” said Martha. “Child,
you know you’re always welcomed in
this house,” said Ms. Kathleen. Just as
she stepped up toward the apartment,
the police car carrying her brother
pulled away from the sidewalk. Martha
began to weep, because this time she
felt she would never see him again.
Although he had hurt her grandmother
in the in the past, he had been warned
that he would be taken to jail if it hap-
pened again.
Ms. Kathleen comforted her and took

I now know that if you want your mar-
riage to work it takes a lot of prayer, love,
respect, loyalty, patience, forgiveness,
communication, understanding, commit-
ment, giving and taking. If you are com-
mitted to the relationship, the marriage
has to be worked on 24/7 a day for the
rest of your life. It also takes two people to
work on the marriage and guidance from
God and prayer.
Marriage is good if you work at it
and want it to work. You and your spouse
can live a loving, healthy ,and a peaceful
life, for the rest of your life . This is the way
God intended marriage to be.
Yours in Christ,
Beula
The true person comes out because he/
she can’t continue to pretend. Marriage is
not easy, it takes time and work! I didn’t
know that! I always wanted my marriage
to be better, but how?
Well, I started watching various Pastors on
television that talked about marriage and
then the light came on. I got saved, then
my husband got saved. Things started
coming together, but not right way. It
took a lot of praying and wanting things
to be better. (Ephesians 5:23) “For the
husband is the head of the wife even as
Christ is the head of the church and he is
the Savior of the body.” (Ephesians 5:25)
“Husband love your wives even as the
Christ also loved the church and gave
himself for it.”
Ephesians 5:28, “So husbands ought to
love their own wives as their own bodies.
He that loves his wife loves himself. .
Ephesians 5:31 “…….and shall be joined
unto his wife and they two shall become
one flesh.
When two people come together
as one it takes endurance. It’s a union of
man and woman coming together from
two different backgrounds and they
think,
Something To Ponder Marriage
Where does this type of thinking
or behavior come from? Where does
the hate and willingness to hurt or
even kill others stem from? I say this
comes from the demon of darkness—
satan. It appears that satan is on his
job. He has been travelling the
earth—going to and fro, ready to
steal and destroy anyone in his path.
It is important that Christians pray
and put on the full “Armor of God”.
We are fighting things that we can-
not see, but God’s Word and His pro-
tection will shield us from the wiles
of the devil.
Devotional Scripture —Ephesians 6: 10-18
Page 7 Volume 1, Issue 6
I got married in 1967. I was in my
late teens and my husband was in his early
twenties. Neither one of us was saved or
knew what it took to be married.
We were young immature and
naive. We didn’t have good examples of
marriages to help us or anyone to get some
understanding from. Our parents were
married, but they were just doing what
they saw their parents did back in the day.
In those days they didn’t show love toward
each other. There was not a lot of commu-
nication, understanding, or prayer. Mar-
riage was not discussed in the house or the
churches. So, people got married and
moved in together and the marriage was
supposed to just work out by itself. NO!!! It
does not work that way.
When I got married, I thought that
things were going to be like living on cloud
nine because We loved each other. Well, I
was mistaken. It was quite the opposite.
After we got married, things started chang-
ing. The longer we stayed together, the
more we seem to grow apart. Love seems
like it went out the window! There was
strife, physical abuse, and little or no com-
munication. When you get married, you
really don’t know your spouse until you live
under the same roof with him or her.
Do you have on your ARMOR of GOD?
As I go throughout my day, week,
and month, I often encounter strange
people. While most of us have been
taught basic morals and values, there
are people who have not.
There are individuals who harbor
hate and animosity for absolutely no
reason. There are people who actually
sit at their desks planning evil against
other people. To make matters worse, I
have encountered teenagers who are
rude and disrespectful. Often you hear
other adults say, “their parents are ex-
actly the same way.”
We will encounter devils everyday
as we go through our lives. Conse-
quently, we must read and study
the “Word of God”. This is a weapon
that will sustain us until Jesus’ re-
turn. WE MUST RESIST THE DEVIL
AND HE WILL FLEE!
The devil and his crew have used
all the tools available to fight us. He
went to the courthouse and now
we can’t pray in schools (Separation
of Church/State).
When are we going to stand up
and FIGHT? Where is your ARMOR
of GOD? Get it and put it on! AA

The descendant of several generations
of Independent ministers, he was born at
Kelvedon, Essex, and became a Baptist in
1850. In the same year he preached his
first sermon, and in 1852 he was ap-
pointed pastor of the Baptist congrega-
tion at Waterbeach.
In 1854, he went to Southwark, where
his sermons drew such crowds that a new
church, the Metropolitan Tabernacle in
Newington Causeway, had to be built for
him. Apart from his preaching activities,
he founded a pastors’ college, an orphan-
age, and a colportage association for the
propagation of uplifting literature.
Spurgeon was a strong Calvinist. He had a
controversy in 1864 with the Evangelical
party of the Church of England for re-
maining in a Church that taught Baptismal
Regeneration, and also estranged consider-
able sections of his own community by
rigid opposition to the more liberal meth-
ods of Biblical exegesis.
These differences led to a rupture with
the Baptist Union in 1887. He owed his
fame as a preacher to his great oratorical
gifts, humour, and shrewd common sense,
which showed itself especially in his treat-
ment of contemporary problems. Among
his works are The Saint and his Saviour
(1857), Commenting and Commentaries
(1876) and numerous volumes of sermons
(translated into many languages).

Are You Ready for the Return of Christ?
I am huge fan of Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins, authors of the Left Behind
Series. These fictionalized books are based on scriptures from the Bible beginning
with the rapture and its culmination with the reign of Jesus on earth. The story
begins with the disappearing as dubbed by the unbelievers. It discusses people
missing from cars, pilots missing from planes, and children missing from families.
The citizens are believing that aliens have abducted their families and friends.
This incident was considered a negative incident for the world.
While the unbelievers may not know what would have happened, the believ-
ers know exactly what has happened. Christians know that when that incident
occurs it would be an “unexpected good consequence”. That incident will mark
the beginning of Christ’s return to earth to rapture His church. This will be great
for Christians because, like you, I intend to be one of those disappearing from
earth and reappearing with the Lord!
Finally, I leave you with this tip, no one knows the day nor the hour of Jesus’
return. Until Jesus return, we must love and care for each other. We must keep
our hearts and minds stayed on Jesus. We must keep doing the things that have
made us the die-hard Christians that we have become. Remember that our re-
ward will come when we meet Jesus in the air during the rapture.
