Single purpose desalination plant to produce 5 milliongallons per day desalted water by the evaporation ofArabian Gulf water based on MSF process andtransmission of potable water to the distributionterminals in the town of Al Khafji and related officebuildings and housing compound.

Scope:

All civil works of the desalination plant. Turn-keyconstruction of sea water intake, outfall andtreatment facilities.

Construction works of “Yenikapı” Pretreatment Plant& Pumping Stations in the framework of IstanbulSewerage Project (1st Stage). Contract consisted ofconstruction of a coarse screen house, a pumpingstation (influent); pretreatment plant, a pumpingstation (effluent), incoming inceptor, sewers andforce mains; fabrication and laying of overflowsystems and connecting pipes; construction of roadsand firefighting.

ENKA also undertook the supply and installation ofall electrical and mechanical parts of a coarse screenhouse, sewage pretreatment plant and 2 a pumpingstations, which have 5 pumps with a total capacity of12,5m³/sec.

Ras Lanuf New Town Contracts 11 and 12 is a housingcomplex project.Scope: Storm Water Drainage System and WaterSupply System, 17 km long pipeline with a diameter of400 mm was used to bring water from the nearbyindustrial area of the ARC to the a/m reservoir.The networks consists of a main network around theresidential areas and second networks inside theapartment blocks.Sewage Treatment Plant and Irrigation Systemcomprise complete sewage water treatment facilitiesincluding restricted effluent reuse for irrigationpurpose outside the residential areas.

Waste water is collected from the residential areasthrough gravity sewers to the 4 pumping stations andthen pumped to the treatment plant, which is anactivated sludge process using mechanical and surfaceaerators. 2 water reservoirs (200,000 m³). Thereservoirs foundation lays on a compacted gravel bed.The reservation is abed and walls are made of wateringconcrete. The necessary circulation and post treatmentof water is arranged with two circulation pumps,chlorine dosing and residual chlorine metering. C

Construction of the civil engineering works andsupply, delivery and installation of the associatedelectrical and mechanical equipment of circularearthfill holding reservoir with a capacity of 4,7million m3. The reservoir comprises anembankment with 9 m. Height and 1 km. of crestdiameter, inlet and outlet works and a spillway.The circular earthfill embankment incorporatesan internal sand/gravel system drainage systemand has internal slopes lined with a syntheticgeomembrane of 150,000 m2.

Scope: The inlet works, outlet works andspillway are constructed of reinforced concrete.Water is discharged into the reservoir through 3submerged discharge valves, each with adiameter of 2,000 mm, and a weight of 30 tons,supplied and installed by ENKA. Manufacturingand installation of polyurethane coated buriedsteel pipework, with diameters varying between2,000 and 4,000 mm lined at site by cementmortar and cathodically protected andinstallation of 8 owner-supplied large valves areincluded. The project also includes installation ofa prestressed cylindrical concrete by-passpipeline of 4 m diameter and 1,800 m long.
