Weekly report for water watch during rainy season in 2020
During 28 September – 4 October 2020
1. Weather atmosphere for last 7 days (21 – 27 September 2020) The monsoon trough lay across the Lower North, the Upper Central and the Lower Northeast
in the first half of the week while it lay across a low pressure cell in the Gulf of Tonkin in the early of the week. The monsoon trough then moved upward across the Upper North and the Upper Northeast into the low pressure cell in the central of the South China Sea. In addition to the southwest monsoon prevailed over the Andaman Sea and the South throughout the week and it was stronger on the last day of the week so that it caused heavy rain in Upper Thailand in the first half and last day of the week. The southern part had rain almost all week and there was a report of sudden flood in some areas.

The weather forecast in twenty-four hours ahead; the monsoon trough moves across the central, and eastern parts while the southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand is moderate. It caused Thailand to have some continuous and isolated heavy rain in the central part, Bangkok and its vicinity including the eastern and southern parts. People in the risky area should beware of the heavy and accumulated rain. The wind waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are moderate while the waves are about 2-meter high in the Upper Andaman Sea, 1-2 meter high in the Upper Gulf of Thailand, and over 2-meter high in the thunderstorm area. Ships should be navigated with caution and avoided thunderstorm areas. 2. Weather forecast for the next 7 days during 3 – 9 October 2020
