Digital skills vs. digital tools
Skills are the capabilities you require to be able to use the tools, but also to evaluate and analyse what to use and when to use them
- Knowing how to collaborate with co-workers - Being comfortable giving and receiving feedback- Accepting failure and having the confidence to try
Tools are the platforms, software or websites that you use to complete a task or a project.
- e.g. Google Slides to create an online presentation
Course overviewThe micro-credential is aimed at developing specific digital skills and knowledge to meet contemporary working environments. This includes new ways of working as well as using digital technologies
● 15 credits● Level 7● NZQA approved micro-credential● Delivered over 7 weeks● Live facilitated classes each week over Zoom ● Two assessments throughout, totally relevant to your business
Small business challenges● How do we support remote working?● How do we support flexible working?● How can our business become carbon zero/carbon neutral?● How can we consume less?● How can we get in front of the right audiences and consumers?● How can we use data better for decision-making?● How do we prepare to compete in a global economy?● How can we build and sustain effective collaboration?● How do we systemise our business procedures to become more efficient?● How do we address cyber security and protect our data?● How do we digitise our business? What does this mean?● How can we do all of this on a lean budget and with minimal staff?
