impossible in your life? Have you asked God about it yet in prayer?

Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

This is a traditional ‘time for family’ in Korea.

Yet, we are still under COVID-19 restrictions.

Incheon is somewhat more restrictive than some other places.

So, pray for each other during this stressful time.

Bible; it reads us. Reading the entire Bible through, gives all of God’s Word a chance at us!

Have you tried singing? Why not consider it?

Little is much, Amen.

Have you ever tried reading your entire Bible through in one year?

God will bless you if you give His entire Word a read?

4 1 In the harvest field now ripened

There’s a work for all to do;

Hark! the voice of God is calling

To the harvest calling you.

Refrain:

Little is much when God is in it,

Labor not for wealth or fame;

There’s a crown, and you can win it,

If you go in Jesus’ name.

Encourage yourself; David did.

1 Samuel 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all

the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the

LORD his God.

David was the psalmist of Israel. He wrote many spiritual songs. Did he encourage himself by singing?

Have you ever wondered why the missionary adds footnotes?

Some of our folks take sincere milk, others take meat. Footnotes allow you the opportunity to think, meditate,

and search the Scriptures.

Deacon Kim has manufactured a very handy Bible Reading Schedule posted up

on the IIBC web site to help you.

It takes only about 15-30 minutes a day to read 5 chapters, such that you can

make it through the entire Bible in a year.

5 You can do this.

- Even if you are behind schedule; you can start again, and then keep going.

- We don’t do this to tell people that we do this.

- We read through the entire Bible such that the entire Bible gets a read on us.

o God’s Word is a mirror on our own soul.

o The Holy Spirit reads our heart and convicts us of sin.

Context: Last week we preached on Elijah at the Brook Cherith. 7

We are still at the beginning phase of Elijah’s ministry. God raised up Elijah as

a Prophet at a very critical time in Israel’s history. .

Demon, and demons are not found as '‘words'’in the KJV. Unclean spirits (daemons) are. So, to say idols are

images where demons are worshipped is correct.

I believe that groves, or Aserath poles, are also known as ‘totem poles’ to some.

For a comparison concerning idols,

Elijah went northwest to Zarephath and dwelt with a widow (he lived in a loft

above the house); We pick up the account, from where we were in the last

sermon; by starting at:

The Scripture:

1 Kings 17:8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

Elijah is at the Brook Cherith.

11 Sometimes in a local church, things need to get done; but someone says … ‘Well, I just don’t want to do that’.

[They are qualified, and able; but, they just won’t do it.] That is a very poor attitude. We need to be ready to

accept higher responsibility, as given by the Lord. We will all give account of ourselves to the Lord one day.

Or, they may say … ‘Well, I am not comfortable doing that’. [so; Was the Lord Jesus comfortable, upon the

cross?]

- I encourage you to ‘Quit making excuses’. [How did God deal with Moses when he was making

excuses? [Read Exodus Chapter 4]].

- Now, remember that the kingdom of Israel is under famine.

IIBC Training Tip #6 – Be Ready.

Proverbs 27:23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.

Always be ready to study, train for, and to accept more responsibility in local church ministry.

- Behave yourself wisely.

- Learn by understudy.

- Learn by volunteering.

- Learn by using initiative.

- Learn by doing (that includes training others).

IIBC Training Tip #9 – God Is STILL Passing Out Big Jobs.

Proverbs 27:23 Be thou diligent to

know the state of thy flocks, and

look well to thy herds.

Always be ready to study, train for, and to accept more responsibility in local church ministry.

- Adam: Name all the animals.

- Noah: Build the Ark.

- Moses: Tell Pharaoh to Let ‘My people’ Go.

- Joshua: Conquer Canaan (including the ‘Giants’ (‘ites’).

- David: Behave wisely, wait on God, United the Kingdom after defeating several enemies.

- Solomon: Build the Temple.

- Ezra: Re-Build the Temple.

- Nehemiah: Re-Build the walls of Jerusalem.

- John the Baptist: Prepare the way of the Lord.

- The Disciples: Turn the world upside down in one generation with the Gospel.

- Senior Pastor Hann Tchah, the Deacons, and IIBC [Us]: Go, Teach, Baptize Saints, teach.

Zarephath is also called Sarepta, in Luke 4:26.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly

dividing the word of truth.

Titus 3:1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every

good work,

1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man

that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

1) Study.

2) Be ready.

3) Be ready always to give an answer [Preaching, teaching, devotion, testimony, a word for the

Lord.].

Have you ever been down to a pair of sticks, a handful of meal, and a cup of oil? The widow was. Yet she believed God. 11

o It has not rained in Israel since Elijah spoke to King Ahab.

God has a reason for everything.

- Everything.

o I am going to repeat; God has a reason for everything He does.

- I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

God is ‘way ahead’ of Elijah.

God is already moving ahead of Elijah. 12

God is preparing the way ahead for Elijah.

10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the

city, behold, the widow woman [was] there gathering of sticks: and he called

to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may

drink.

12

Note also, God reserves the right to move his man anywhere, anytime. He told Elijah ‘Arise and go to

Zarephath’. Don’t get too comfortable where you are at.

13 Some would call this a divine appointment.

Page 12: Welcome to everyone, and Especially · 1 day ago · Welcome to everyone, and Especially to our online Guests this morning! 1 Pray: 2 1 Nehemiah 8:8 So they read in the book in the

Have you ever been down to a pair of sticks, a handful of meal, and a cup of oil? The widow was. Yet she believed God. 12

So he arose.

Elijah has learned to obey God. 14

The distance from the Brook Cherith to Zarephath was ~ 120 miles (as the

eagle flies). 15

- So, I am going to guess that it took Elijah around a week of walking to

get there. 16

The terrain on the journey was mountainous, which made it even a longer

journey [up this hill and down another].

Did God ask Elijah if he wanted to go to Zarephath? [No].

You know; God has a reason for everything that He asks us to do.

14

Did Elijah have a map?

We don’t know; but if he didn’t, we could say “He was operating off the map!”

Was Elijah ‘out of his comfort zone? Walking by faith will probably take you ‘out of your comfort zone’ and

perhaps ‘off the map’ [of what you know].

There is great blessing in obeying the Word of God.

I highly recommend that you don’t tell God No. 하나님께 아니요 라고

I recommend that you don’t tell God, “Well; I am not going to do

I recommend that you don’t tell God, “I am just not comfortable

However, 하지만,

IIBC is not a church plant any more. IIBC

IIBC men who could preach and/or teach include: The Senior Pastor, 2 Deacons, and at least 4 more faithful

men: ∑ = 7 men + the missionary helper. Your missionary helper may not be here forever. God can call him to

Arise and go to Zarephath. You need to plan on developing the men that God has given you. That is the Biblical

model. Research what the Apostle Paul did when he visited assemblies of believers in various locations. Who

did he ordain? [Elders (the most spiritually mature men): Acts 14:23, 16:24]. What did the elders do? [Preach,

Translator: We will go line by line through the Invitation bullet statements this morning!

INVITATION: Every head bowed and every eye closed, please. Christians:

Confess known sin; then pray for God to bless the Invitation.

Three questions:

1. Are you saved?

Are you born again from above.

If You died today are your 100% sure that you would go to heaven.

If you are not saved, we would love to take a Bible and show you how

you can know for sure that you are saved.

2. Have you been baptized by immersion, since salvation, in a church of

like faith and practice?

If you are saved and have not yet been baptized by immersion, I would

like you to let Pastor Tchah know that this morning.

The Lord Jesus was baptized by immersion by John The Baptist.

The Disciples and Apostles were baptized by Immersion.

The Lord Jesus commanded his disciples to preach and teach the Gospel,

baptizing those who got saved. 39

Baptism therefore, is a command to be obeyed.

There is nothing to be nervous about. We are family and friends here.

3. Are you ready to meet God?

a. We all should be ready to pray, to give testimony about the Lord,

or to pass away.

b. Is there any bitterness on your heart?

c. Is there any sin that you need to confess to God, silently, as you

pray?

If you need to come to the altar to pray, the invitation is open to you.

And now a word from Senior Pastor Tchah:

39

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in

earth. Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the

Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:

and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

ARE YOU SAVED?

This is the question of the ages. Men were created to worship their Creator. You

can know for 100% sure that you are saved. To understand this you’ll need to

get out your Bible and look at a few verses.

1. All men are sinners. Read Romans 3:10

A s it is written, There is none righteous, no not one: and Romans 3:23

For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

- Are you a sinner?

2. There is a penalty for sin. Read Romans 5:12

Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and

so death passed upon all men for that all have sinned.

and Romans 6:23.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through

Jesus Christ our Lord.

- Has death passed upon you?

- What wage do you earn for your sin?

3. Jesus paid the penalty for your sin on the cross of Calvary and offers you

eternal life as a free gift. Read Romans 6:23 (above) again:

- What is the gift of God? Who gives this gift?

- Can a gift be bought? Can a gift be earned?

- If you rejected this free gift; would it

still be a gift?

4. How did God demonstrate His love for us? Read Romans 5:8.

But God commendeth His love towards us in that we were yet sinners,

Christ died for us.

- Did Christ die personally for you? Did Jesus

suffer on the cross?

-- Why did he suffer so

horribly?

- Is there an empty grave outside Jerusalem?

- Where is the body of Jesus?

Page 40: Welcome to everyone, and Especially · 1 day ago · Welcome to everyone, and Especially to our online Guests this morning! 1 Pray: 2 1 Nehemiah 8:8 So they read in the book in the

Have you ever been down to a pair of sticks, a handful of meal, and a cup of oil? The widow was. Yet she believed God. 40

-If Jesus was dead in a tomb, wouldn't the Jewish

leaders have dug Him up and shown the disciples

the evidence of his corpse?

5. How can you be born again? Read Romans 10: 9 – 10 That if thou shalt

confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that

God hath raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved. For with the heart

man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made

unto salvation.

and Romans 10:13

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

- Are you a whosoever? Have you ever called upon the

name of the Lord in prayer?

— Prayer is simply you

talking to God.

- If you have never yet asked the Lord to save you,

why not pray the sinners prayer now?

sinner's prayer now?

Dear Lord have mercy on me. I know I am a sinner. I know you died on

Calvary's cross for me. I accept you now as my personal Lord and Savior.

Please forgive me of all my past sins, all my present sins, and all my future

sins. Help me know that I am saved forever. In Jesus name. Amen.

Read Romans 10:13 again. Are you saved?

1 Kings 17:17 And it came to pass after these things, [that] the son of the

woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that

there was no breath left in him.

18 And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of

God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my

son?

19 And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her

bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his

own bed.

20 And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, hast thou also

brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?

21 And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the

LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come

into him again.

22 And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came

into him again, and he revived.

man of God, [and] that the word of the LORD in thy mouth [is] truth.

25 But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the

heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the

land;

26 But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, [a city] of Sidon, unto a

woman [that was] a widow.

27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them

was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.

30 But he passing through the midst of them went his way,

And also compare:

Matthew 15: 21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.

22And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying,

Have mercy on me, O Lord, [thou] Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a

devil.

23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send

her away; for she crieth after us.

24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Have you ever been down to a pair of sticks, a handful of meal, and a cup of oil? The widow was. Yet she believed God. 44

25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast [it] to

dogs.

27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters'

table.

28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great [is] thy faith: be it unto thee even

as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
