Alan Alexander Milne(1882-1956)

• A.A. Milne was an English author, best known for his books about the bear Winnie the Pooh and for various children’s poems.

A.A. Milne was born in Hampstead, London. His parents was Vince

Milne, who was Scottish, and

Sarah Marie Milne.

• One of his teachers was H.G. Wells, who taught at Henley House School in 1889-90.

• Milne attended Westminster School and Trinity College, Cambridge, where he studied on a mathematics scholarship.

Milne named the character Winnie the Pooh after a teddy bear owned by his

son, Christopher,

Christopher’s toys also lent their names to most of the other characters (Tigger, Kanga, Eeyore, Piglet, Roo)

except for Owl, Rabbit and Gopher (to the Disney version).

the rights

to the commercial

exploitation

of the image of

Winnie to U.S.

producer Steven

Slezinger.

In 1961 the rights to the character were bought from the window of

Slezinger Disney studio.

Under the direction of Fyodor Khitruk was

created three cartoon in 1969, 1971, 1972.
