Equatorial climate

• Is located near the equator.

• Temperatures are always hot. The average annual temperature is 27ºC.

• Precipitation is abundant (more than 2000 mm) and regular all year round.

• They are large rivers due to the abundant precipitation

• There are rainforests that consists in a dense and evergreen forest

• The rainforest is home to animals like insects, snakes, monkeys, parrots…

• Rainforest are almost unhabited but some native people live there

• Is located between the equatorial climate and the tropical dry climate.

• Temperatures are always hot and the average annual temperature is 24ºC

• Precipitation is abundant but lower than 2000mm. There’s a short dry

season and a long rainy season.

• The rivers of this climate are large with irregular flow.

• The tropical rainforest is less dense than the equatorial rainforest.

• There are a lot of animals like orangutans, tigers, toucans…

• Most people live on the coast, plateaus or mountain sides because it’s

colder.

holm oaks and pines, and shrubs like lavender and thyme.

• Human beings has landscape been changed. This zone is densely populated.

• Is located on the west coast of the continents.

• Temperatures are mild all year round because of the proximity of the ocean.

• Precipitation is abundant and regular.

• Rivers have abundant and regular flow all year round.

• The deciduous forest have trees like ash, oak and meadows and moors with

shrubs and grass.

• There are animals like wolves, deer, eagles…

• Human being have landscape changed considerably. Oceanic zones are

densely populated.

• Is located in the north of Europe, America and Asia.

• Temperatures vary greatly: winters are extremely cold, and summers are hot.

• It rains more in summer.

• River are frozen in winter and their flow increases in summer.

• The coniferous forest or taiga have trees like pine and fir. Prairies of tall grass

and steppes of low grass.

• There are animals like bears, reindeers, elks…

• This area thinly populated.

• Is located between the polar circles and the poles.

• Winters are long and harsh and there aren’t real summers.

• It rains a little bit, under 250mm a year.

• There are no rivers.

• Tundra is located in the areas near the temperate zones. It has moss and

lichens.

• There’re animals like polar bears, penguins, seals…

• This area is nearly uninhabited but small groups of Sami live.

• Is located in highest mountain ranges.

• Temperatures are very low in winter and cool in summer.

• Precipitation is abundant all year round. They increase with altitude.

• Rivers start in mountains (sources).

• Mountains have stepped vegetation, depending on the altitude.

• There are animals like mountains goats or eagles.

• Mountains are sparsely populated.
