• Todos los alumn@s de S4 cambiaron su apellido por razones de super-seguridad. Todos han escogido nombres de animales para sus apellidos; p.ej. Sarah MONKEY, John HORSE, Christine Swordfish etc.

• All pupils from S4 changed their surnames for super-security reasons. Everyone chose names of animals for their surnames; e.g. Sarah Monkey, John Horse, Cristina Swordfish etc.

Capital City Academy (Londres, UK) comparte noticias de ‘una vecina’ – cumplirá 100 años el 2 de enero 2013.

Unos alumn@s de Loudoun Academy han mandado cartas de cumpleaños. Ella se queda bastante sola y sin familia.. ¡Cumpleaños Feliz, Ms. Olive!

Capital City Academy, London (Project Partner), shares news about a friend of the school, who will be 100 years old on the 2nd January 2013. Fourteen Loudoun Academy pupils have sent her birthday cards as she is quite alone and now has only one cousin who is 86 years old! Happy Birthday Ms. Olive! Capital City are trying to get 100 cards sent to the lady as a celebration of each year she has lived thus far..! Good Luck Capital City!

El instituto Niccole Machiaveli, Roma, comparte noticias de Rita Levi Montalcini (/Premier Nobel/ Nobel Prize Winner 1986). A la edad de 103 años ha fallecido en Roma Rita Levi Montalcini, investigadora y senadora vitalicia. Nacida en Turín, ganó el premio Nobel de Medicina junto a Stanley Cohen por sus investigaciones sobre el crecimiento de las células neurológicas.

Niccolo Machiaveli School, Rome, shares news on the 30th December, of the death of Nobel Prize Winner (1986) Rita Levi-Montalcini. She died in Rome aged 103 years. Born in Turin, she won the Nobel Prize for Medicine, alongside Stanley Cohen, for their investigations on the growth of neurological cells. Una celebración de 14 vidas…(!)

El instituto Loudoun Academy celebra la vida de 14 ancianos que viven en una residencia enfrente del instituto. La residencia se llama “West Park”. La jefa (Christine Malcolm) está muy entusiasmada con el proyecto Arrugas y quiere ‘trabajar’ con nosotros y ayudarnos a conocer a todos los residentes por medio de pequeñas charlas, entrevistas y claro…¡una taza de té! Fotos: Loudoun Academy, West Park Care Home y una foto para enseñarles la distancia entre el aparcamiento de nuestro instituto y la residencia. ¡Está a dos pasos!

Loudoun Academy celebrates the life of 14 residents who live opposite the school. The ‘old folks home’ is called West Park. The Manager – Christine Malcolm is very excited with the prospect of working alongside us on the project “Wrinkles”. She wants to help us to get to know the old folk through informal chats and ‘interviews’, and of course, the inevitable ‘cup of tea’. Pictures show Loudoun Academy, West Park and the proximity of both venues – “A stone’s throw away!”.
