A national park is large piece of land.In the park animals

are free to come and go.Trees and plants grow

everywhere.People go to a national park to enjoy

nature.Many people stay in campgrounds in national

parks..They sleep in tents and cook their food over campfires.Thay also walk on trails or paths in the park.On a gate at the entrance of Yellowstone,a sign says,”For the Benefit and Enjoyment of the People.”

Yellowstone is the world’s oldest national park.It

became a national park in 1872.It is also the world’s

largest park.黃石公園是世界最老的國家公園 。它在 1872 年變成了國家公園。它也是世

界上最大的公園。

• park.It covers parts of the states of Wyoming,Montana,and Idaho.Yellowstone is 21/2 times the size of the smallest state,Rhode Island.

• 它包括的州有懷俄明州、蒙大拿州和愛達荷州。黃石公園是最小的州羅得島的 2.5 倍。

• They tell visitors not to pick the flowers. They also tell them not to feed or hunt the animals.

他們告訴遊客不要撿拾花草， 也告訴遊客不要餵食或獵殺動物。

Two and a half million people visit this beautiful park each year. Park rangers give information to visitors. They also take care of the park.每年有 250 萬人拜訪這座美麗的公園。 國家公園管理員給遊客資訊，他們也照顧公園。

Introduce• Yellowstone National Park is a national

park located primarily in the U.S. state of Wyoming, although it also extends into Montana and Idaho.It’s also the first national park in the world. The Park spans an area of 3,468.4 square miles,comprising lakes, canyons, rivers and mountain ranges.

黃石國家公園是美國第一個國家公園。主要位於懷俄明州，部分位於蒙大拿州和愛達荷州 , 也是世界上第一個國家公園喔 ~ 黃石國家公園佔地面積約為 8983 平方千米 其中包括湖泊、峽谷、河流和山脈。

Introduce•  Yellowstone Lake is one of the largest high-

altitude lakes in North America and is centered over the Yellowstone Caldera, the largest supervolcano on the continent. The caldera is considered an active volcano. It has erupted several times in the last two million years.

公園內最大的湖泊是位於黃石火山中心的黃石湖，是整個北美地區最大的高海拔湖泊之一。黃石火山是北美最大且仍處於活躍狀態的超級火山，在過去兩百萬年中它曾爆發數次 ~

Hundreds of species of mammals, birds, fish and reptiles have been documented, including several

that are either endangered or threatened. Yellowstone Park is the largest and most

famous megafauna location in the Continental United States. Grizzly bears, wolves, and free-ranging herds of bison and elk live in the park.

• 公園內有記錄的哺乳動物、鳥類、魚類和爬行動物有數百種之多，其中包括多種瀕危或受威脅物種 黃石公園是美國本土最大和最著名的巨型動物居住地。公園中有灰熊、狼、美洲野牛和加拿大馬鹿的棲息地。

Introduce

Old Faithful 老忠實間歇泉• It’s not the biggest or highest but is

the most famous geyser. The reason why it’s famous because of the regular erupt. Old Faithful erupts every 35 to 120 minutes for 3 to 5 minutes.

• 他不是最大或最高的間歇泉 他有名的原因是因為有規律的噴發 老忠實每 35~120 分鐘噴發 噴發時間 3~5 分鐘

The Grand Prismatic Spring大稜鏡溫泉

• The Grand Prismatic Spring is also a famous geyser in the park. In the spring, The bacteria grow around the edges of the mineral-rich water and produce colors ranging from green to red. In the summer, the mats tend to be orange and red, whereas in the winter the mats are usually dark green.The center of the pool is sterile due to extreme heat.

• 大稜鏡溫泉也是黃石公園裡最有名的間歇泉之一 ~ 春天的時候細菌在周圍的富含礦物質的水的邊緣生長 , 在夏天，是橙色和紅色，而在冬季通常是深綠色。在高溫下 池的中心是無菌的

YellowstoneLake 黃石湖• YellowstoneLake is the biggest astatic lake

in the national park.It’s  height more than 2300 and 352 km². YellowstoneLake is also the Mississippi River’s place of origin.

• 黃石湖是園內最大的內陸湖 海拔超過 2300 覆蓋352 平方公里的土地 黃石湖也是密西西比河的發源地

Mammoth Hot Spring 猛獁溫泉• Mammoth Hot Springs is a large complex of hot

springs, It was created over thousands of years.It’s the biggest calcium carbonate spring in the world.The spring is layer by layer.Every single layer was different color originally.But through a earthquack, the color became more and more gray and white.

• 猛獁溫泉又大又複雜的溫泉 而且他已經存在 1 千多年了 它是世界上最大的碳酸鹽溫泉 ~ 猛獁溫泉的形勢是一層一層的 原本的溫泉是每一層都有不同的顏色 但經過一次的地震 它的顏色變得越來越接近灰色或白色
