Today as I passed through the car wash, I felt an in-credible peace. I always feel at peace when I go through the automatic carwash, because in that short amount of time I don't call anyone and no one calls me. I can't do anything, but sit there and be in the present moment. I realize that what makes me most peaceful is that it forces me to be in the Present Moment. God’s name is I AM and not I will be or I was! It is a great grace to be able to live in the present moment and real-ize that your very existence is God’s continual embrace inviting you to be at peace in his arms.

It is also available at: St. Michael Parish Office: M-T-Th-F from 9am to Noon & 1-3pm. Holy Cross School – St. Michael Center: Wednesday morning from 8-9:30am

Our first Famous Fish Dinner is on March 3rd and it will be here before we know it!! St. Michael Church has a rich tradi-

tion of Fish Dinners dating back 60+ years! Our dinners are our main fundraiser and why we are able to give our church $25,000 every year! Your help with these dinners is extremely important! It would be a terrible shame to lose this tradition like so many other churches in our area have lost their dinners --so please sign up to help. We need 132 parishioners to have a smooth running, successful din-ner. The first dinner is an all volun-teer dinner – there are no circle chair-people calling for volunteer workers. *High school students needing a service projects are wel-come to sign up also -- there are plenty of spots open! The signup sheets for volunteer workers, sal-ads and desserts for this dinner are in the back of the church. Thank you in advance for your help. With your support we can continue the tradition of our Famous Fish Din-ners.

We are still short chair-people and need your help with our Pre-Fish Dinner Kitchen Clean-

ing. We will clean on Satur-day, February 25th starting at 8:00 AM. We would like to have close to 20 volunteers. If you have that morning free and could help, please sign up on the sheet in the back of the church. We would appreciate it.

Sioux City's Church of the Nativity Would Like to Invite You to a Unique Opportunity to Begin Your Lenten Season! Television star Frank Runyeon, will bring Scripture to life as he performs his "Sermon on the Mount" on February 22, at 7:00 PM. This will be followed by "HOLLYWOOD vs. FAITH: The Three Other Beatitudes," in which Frank discusses, with humor, the very different beatitudes the media are teaching us, and the choices we face daily as Ameri-cans and as people of faith. Prior to this, (at 5:30 PM) Frank will offer a special "Salt and Light," a comedy for kids. Amid squeals of laughter, and an ocean of hands of eager volunteers, Frank guides the kids through selected riddles and stories from Scripture. All ages are welcome to this great event for families. Learn more about Frank Runyeon here: http://www.runyeonproductions.com/index.html Don’t simply give up chocolate this Lenten Season. Work to improve your relationship with God and, in the process, increase the joy in your family’s life. Busy moms and dads who want to better understand God’s purpose, or who feel like something is missing, are invited to join a book study and conversation this Lenten season. Resisting Happiness is written in very relatable terms to help us find ways to experience more joy on a daily basis by building a strong-er relationship with God. It is written by Matthew Kelly, who is a Catholic author and founder of the Dynamic Catholic organization. The book study will be held on Wednesday evenings (beginning on March 8) from 7-8 p.m. at Trinity Heights. A free will donation to Trinity Heights for the study would be accepted. If you can come once, twice or six times, feel free to join when you can. Please e-mail Liz Determan at [email protected] to sign up or call her at ….712-212-1270
