Thank you for supporting this years Dydd Gwyl Dewi arts and craft competition. Every child has been allocated a school house (Vivian/Yellow, Gilbertson/Blue, Mond/Red or Parsons/Green) which they will represent for their duration here at Alltwen. All pupils have proudly shared their completed arts and craft competi-tion pieces and received their individual dojo’s.
Congratulations, llongyfarchiadau to the winning entries who have achieved addi-tional dojo’s and certificates during this weeks whole school assembly.

World Book Day This year we will be celebrating
World Book Day on the 20th March 2020. All staff will be dressing up as
'Fairytale' characters. Pupils are invited to dress up as their favourite book characters at 50p per person. We will be holding a 'Bring and Buy' sale for 50p a book. Please donate any unwanted books to school asap. All proceeds made will go towards the purchase of new books for the
pupils. To encourage interest in reading we will be watching adapta-tions of Julia Donaldson and Roald
Dahl books in class.
Celtic Credit Union Schools
Savings Club Programme
continues to grow from
strength to strength.
We are now considered the
Number One Credit Union
in the UK for Schools Sav-
ings.
Hundreds of pupils all across
Neath Port Talbot are saving
in their schools with our
Credit Union. Some of these
pupils are developing their
numeracy and communica-
tion skills by helping to
operate the Savings Club,
with some of the older pu-
pils linking their involve-
ment to the Welsh Bacca-
laureate or Duke of Edin-
burgh Award.
More than 40 schools are
currently taking part in the
scheme and new schools are
applying to join us every
month.
We believe that ALL pupils
in Neath Port Talbot should
have access to a School
Savings Club.
So what are you waiting
for?

Did you know that Celtic Credit Union operates a Schools Savings Club in your school?
NUMBER ONE iN YOUR
COMMUNITY FOR SAVINGS &
LOANS
Since starting our Schools Savings Club
programme in 2009 we have helped thousands of
pupils save thousands of pounds. Our Savings
Clubs aim to show each new generation of pupils
the value of saving - a habit which seems to be in
decline.
YOUR Savings Club is operated by pupils from
Y5/6 supported by a member of staff every
Thursday morning from 09.00 - 9.15 in the
CWTSH. If you would like to help your children
start saving - whether it’s for something special or
nothing in particular - we would love to hear from
you!
It takes just £1.00 to open a Junior Account then you can save as much or as little
as you like every week (or as often as you can). Just complete the Application
Form on the back of this Newsletter and return it to the school with a minimum
of £1.00 to get your child started.
Savings can be withdrawn during the last week of each term - but many children
choose to just keep on saving.
Grown ups are welcome too!
Come and see us at THE HUB in Pontardawe. We are open from 10am
until 3pm every Tuesday. Why not pop in to pick up a leaflet, have a chat
or maybe open an account? Adult Savers can get access to our ethical,
affordable loans …. much cheaper than credit cards and payday lenders.
Come and see what your Credit Union can do for you!
