HE 2011 Greenpowerndurance racing series drew toclose at the National Finals at
odwood Motor Racing CircuitSussex on the 16th October.

wcomer award for the highestaced novice team. The team,mprised of 10 boys and girls,rformed faultlessly over the 4ur race performing 3 batteryanges and 4 driver changes
hich saved valuable time in thets. The teams practice and
preparation leading up to therace meant the car was in tip-topshape mechanically with thegearing choice for the race spoton. The team managed a total of103 Mi over the race distance,which means they will receive aGold Award from Greenpowerandputs them securelyinthe top15 teams in the UK. As a result oftheir maiden performance, ATRacing have been invited to com-pete at the Corporate Challengeat Silverstone next May 2012.This is a prestigious race whereselected school teams competeag ainst University and
Corporate teams like JaguarLand-Rover, Citroenand Bentley.Duringthe day a range of Judgesinterviewed the team about thecar and how it was designed andmade. As a result the team wereawarded a second trophy, theSiemens Innovation Award fortheir use of Materials, Design,Aerodynamics andWeight/Efficiency of the vehicle.The team would like to welcomeand thank two new sponsors thisyear, Jackies Hairdressers andthe Home School Association.

Pupils of Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi have raised 1000duringthe first half term of theacademicyear to help local cancer chari-ties and have donated money to help local childrenJackGow andCharlyZerk as well as theTeen Cancer Trust. Moneywas raised through charityfootball matches, selling cakes, facepainting and non-uniform days.
