portfolios helped oGCDP promote the event during the 3rd week of January.AIESEC week aimed at recruiting as many exchange participants as possible.
There were many programs around the world that were on offer for students todo their Community Based Attachment – a requirement of Strathmore University– and by conducting this event, IM & COMM and mainly oGCDP saw it fit thatthe days of the week be themed to really grab the attention of the Strathmore

There were 5 themes. Monday Blues ensured most of the AIESEC membersdressed in blue outfits. Cheeky Tuesday saw the AIESEC members dance behindunsuspecting Strathmore Community members (guards, lecturers, students etc.)
and then hand out flyers promoting the programs on offer in the various countries.Wii Wednesday had members of the Strathmore Community play the NintendoWii during the lunch hours and it helped relax our fellow students and lecturers.Ultimate Thursday showcased a flash mob dance choreographed by our veryown Vice President of Business Development, Edna Maritim. Several members
joined in the fun as we promoted exchange further.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU
Esther Kinuthia is a famous bloggerknown as Miss Independent or Miss I.Believe it or not, she is also aStrathmore University student. Being aformer AIESECer, we invited her to talkto our members and the largerStrathmore community on Friday the13th of February during our weeklymeetings between 2-4 PM. Esther Kinuthia attended Kianda Highschool 2007-2010 emerging with a B+ inher KCSE. In 2011, she joined AllianceFrançoise Nairobi and later becomingthe President of Les Francophone deStrathmore and currently she is astudent at Strathmore Universitypursuing her undergraduate inBachelors of Commerce majoring inMarketing and minoring in BusinessAdministration. Founder and CEO ofher own pseudonym of MissIndependent alias Miss I, the youngMarketing Guru started her blog in lateof 2012 and since made a name forherself and already soaring togreatness..
She became the second youngestnominee among the 2014 Top 40women under 40. She is the 22-year-oldblogger who featured in this year’s listof top 40 women. Esther Kinuthia, wasborn in July the 13th, 1992 inKenyaEsther covered many topics suchas being proactive, never being afraid totry and keeping an open mind. However, given that she’s an AIESECAlumni, what really caught most of theAIESEC audience’s attention was howAIESEC helped her. She said it took herout of her comfort zone, it helped herlearn to balance many things at once(not books on her head and fingertipsobviously) but the tasks she needed tocomplete for AIESEC and moreimportantly, her school work. If anything, she’s an example to fellowAIESECers and non-AIESECers that youhave to take up tasks and responsibility. Why you may ask? Because it’s one ofthe easiest ways to help yourself growas an individual. Overall, it was a wonderful talk by ourvery own and we thank our VP ofBusiness Development, Edna Maritimand her team for making it happen.
