1 ペルシヤの王クロスの第一年に、エレミヤにより告げられた主のことばを実現するために、主はペルシヤの王クロスの霊を奮い立たせたので、王は王国中におふれを出し、文書にして言った。In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah, the LORD moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and also to put it in writing:

2 「ペルシヤの王クロスは言う。『天の神、主は、地のすべての王国を私に賜った。この方はユダにあるエルサレムに、ご自分のために宮を建てることを私にゆだねられた。“ This is what Cyrus king of Persia says: “‘The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah.

3 あなたがた、すべて主の民に属する者はだれでも、その神がその者とともにおられるように。その者はユダにあるエルサレムに上り、イスラエルの神、主の宮を建てるようにせよ。この方はエルサレムにおられる神である。Any of his people among you may go up to Jerusalem in Judah and build the temple of the LORD, the God of Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem, and may their God be with them.

4 残る者はみな、その者を援助するようにせよ。どこに寄留しているにしても、その所から、その土地の人々が、エルサレムにある神の宮のために進んでささげるささげ物のほか、銀、金、財貨、家畜をもって援助せよ。』」And in any locality where survivors may now be living, the people are to provide them with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with freewill offerings for the temple of God in Jerusalem.’”

5 そこで、ユダとベニヤミンの一族のかしらたち、祭司たち、レビ人たち、すなわち、神にその霊を奮い立たされた者はみな、エルサレムにある主の宮を建てるために上って行こうと立ち上がった。Then the family heads of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and Levites—everyone whose heart God had moved—prepared to go up and build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem.

6 彼らの回りの人々はみな、銀の器具、金、財貨、家畜、えりすぐりの品々、そのほか進んでささげるあらゆるささげ物をもって彼らを力づけた。All their neighbors assisted them with articles of silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with valuable gifts, in addition to all the freewill offerings.

7 クロス王は、ネブカデネザルがエルサレムから持って来て、自分の神々の宮に置いていた主の宮の用具を運び出した。Moreover, King Cyrus brought out the articles belonging to the temple of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and had placed in the temple of his god.

8 すなわち、ペルシヤの王クロスは宝庫係ミテレダテに命じてこれを取り出し、その数を調べさせ、それをユダの君主シェシュバツァルに渡した。Cyrus king of Persia had them brought by Mithredath the treasurer, who counted them out to Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah.

9 その数は次のとおりであった。金の皿三十、銀の皿一千、香炉二十九、

This was the inventory: gold dishes 30, silver dishes 1,000, silver pans 29,10 金の鉢三十、二級品の銀の鉢四百十、その他の用具一千。 gold bowls 30, matching silver bowls 410, other articles 1,000

11 金、銀の用具は全部で五千四百あった。捕囚の民がバビロンからエルサレムに連れて来られたとき、シェシュバツァルはこれらの物をみないっしょに携えて上った。In all, there were 5,400 articles of gold and of silver. Sheshbazzar brought all these along with the exiles when they came up from Babylon to Jerusalem.
