Huada Chinese Academy’s New School Year Student Enrollment Fair
何西的父母怎么也想不到，从下学年开始，想进入三藩市最难进的高中—林肯高中的普通话沉浸课程，竟然要在校区考中文，70 分以上才及格！而何西，虽然是一个从中国来的移民学生，但在美国读了四年书以后，英文不见得学得很好，中文则已经全
忘掉了。他哭着问妈妈，为什么不早点送他进华大中文学校继续学中文。
It has never occurred to Jose’s parents that Jose could have continued to learn Chinese. Starting next school year, if anyone wants to enter Abraham Lincoln High School – San Francisco’s most requested public school’s Mandarin Immersion Program, he/she has to take a Chinese test in the school district and the passing score is 70%. Although Jose emigrated from China, after four years in the States, he did not make much progress in learning English. Yet he has totally forgotten his Chinese. He asked his mom in tears: “How come you didn’t send me to Huada Chinese Academy to continue to learn Chinese? Then I could have a chance to enter Lincoln high school!”

To pass this test with high score and beat the 5000:1 odd in the lottery to enter Lincoln, Angela has 100% confidence.

San Francisco Bay Area’s best Chinese school – Huada Chinese Academy is getting ready for the new school year new student registration. Each year, finding out when Huada’s enrollment fair will take place is on top of what concerned San Francisco parents’ must-‐do list. It matters significantly if their children can enter Bay Area’s best Chinese language school. It also matters if they can get to the front in the long line for registration.

Established 14 years, Huada Chinese Academy continues to offer the nation’s most unique Chinese language programs at San Francisco’s star high school – Lowell high school on Sundays. We have the traditional Chinese classes from pre-‐school class to high school credit classes. We have bilingual two-‐way Chinese immersion classes for non-‐Chinese family or adoption family children. We have Chinese enrichment classes for Bay Area’s public school’s Chinese immersion program students, including synchronizing and expanding classes. We also offer high school credit classes recognized by the SFUSD and many San Francisco independent high schools. These diverse Chinese courses enable students with different background, different levels, and different needs to get what they need in Chinese language education at Huada Chinese Academy. This unique curriculum and course design is possibly the only of its kind among Chinese schools in the United States.

华大 2017学年的招生工作将在三月十九日全面展开. 下面我们将 24 个班级全面列出. 目的其一是让家长们和学生们明了我们下学年的课程安排和上课的时间， 其二我们将根据和综合家长们的选择和要求，给我们每个学生作出最适当的班级安排。总的来说, 我们今年铺设的班级与去年的大致相同, 个别的班级会根据新形势进行调整 ̖̖、增补或删除. 特别的做法还包括注册人数少于 10 人的班级将不考虑开班. 如家长们对其他课程的要求, 可在 [email protected]表达您们的意见(中英文都可), 以便使我们更确切地了解家长们的需求。
Huada’s 2017 school year enrollment will officially begin at the end of March 19th. Below we have fully listed class times for all 24 regular classes offered at Lowell. We would like parents and students to be aware of the courses that we are offering next year and their class times. In addition, we will do our best to give students the best class placement. Classes with low interest will be subjected to cancellation; we will not consider opening classes with fewer than 10 people enrolled. If parents should have other course requirements, please send an email to [email protected] to voice your concern (please use Chinese or English), so to let us have a better understanding of our parents’ needs.

Huada 2017-‐2018 School Year Enrollment Guidelines
• Enrollment for new and existing students at the Lowell campus begins on March 19th. Existing students need to pay attention to the school’s notice, which contains assigned enrollment dates. Please come to the office to enroll your children on your assigned enrollment date.
• The differences in enrollment between new and existing students include: (1) registration fee is waived for existing students (2) existing students have more choices in choosing classes with suitable times.
• Fees: there are 33 sessions that span 10 months during Huada’s school year. The
discount period for existing student enrollment is during March and April of every year. We encourage parents to seize the opportunity for a 10% discount in tuition by enrolling during this period. The second child in every family can enjoy an additional 5% discount in tuition. The discount period for existing students ends after April, and discounts for new students end after May.
• The difference between new and existing students is that new students receive a 5% discount for enrolling during the discount period. Tuition is subject to change depending on our costs. For this school year, we have a small amount adjust for operation fee. Thank you for your understanding.
• In 2016, we distributed tuition coupons as rewards that can be used towards this
year’s tuition.
• Lastly, for parents who enroll their children in the current school year, and refer other families to enroll, they will receive a $25 tuition rebate (per family referred).
• For 2017-‐2018 academic year, we will start at 08/20/2017, and it will end on
05/20/2018.
