    SalientfeaturesofBELSuperannuation(Pension)Scheme

    1.0 Introduction:

    Asapprovedby theMinistryofDefence,Governmentof India vide letter no. 8 (112)/2012/D Coord/DDPdated 11th November 2013, Management hasintroduced theBEL Superannuation (Pension) SchemeforExecutives (includingTCPersonnel).Thescheme iseffective from 01.01.2007. Board of Directors in its384th meeting held on 27.05.2016 approved PensionSchemei.r.o.NonExecutivesw.e.f.01.01.2012

    2.0 Coverage:

    The Scheme covers Executives (including thoseappointed at Board level) and Non UnionizedSupervisors(TCPersonnel)whowere/areontherollsof the Company on a permanent basis as on01.01.2007andonwardsandincaseofNonExecutivesason1/1/2012andonwards.

    3.0 EligibilityforPension:

    3.1 Pension shall be payable to a member onsuperannuationorcessationofservicesubjectto

    the condition that he/she has rendered acontinuousminimumserviceof15yearsinBEL.

    3.2 Minimumserviceof15years isnotapplicable inthe case of death of a Member whilst in theserviceoftheCompanyorinthecaseofcessationofserviceoftheMemberduetopermanenttotaldisablement.

    4.0 ManagementoftheScheme:

    4.1 The Pension Scheme will be operated by anexemptedTrustappointedbytheCompany.

    4.2 Bharat Electronics Limited Superannuation(Pension) Trust was formed on 12th February,2014.

    4.3 The trustees act forandbehalfof theMembersandtheCompanyinanymatterpertainingtotheScheme in accordance with the rules andregulationsframedbytheCompany.

    5.0 Operationofthescheme:

    5.1 The Company has appointed Life InsuranceCorporationof India (LlC) and SBI Life InsuranceCompany Limitedas theFundManagers for themanagementofthePensionTrustFundsandalsoasAnnuityServiceProviders.

    5.2 The Pension corpus is investedwith LIC and SBILifeInsuranceCompanyintheratioof70:30.Thecumulative amount of depositsmade (includinginterest accrued) at the end of each year isassured/guaranteedbyLIC&SBILife InsuranceCompany.

    5.3 The FundManagers i.e., Insurers have issued aMaster Policy Document to the Pension Trustviz., LICs New Superannuation CashAccumulationPlan and SBI LifeCapAssureGoldPolicywhichareapprovedbyIRDA.

    5.4 TheMaster policyNo. of LIC is 501000837 andSBIlifeis73041001808.

    6.0 Managementcontribution:

    6.1 The Schemewill be underDefined ContributionPlan,wherein the contribution by the Companytowardspension fund isdefined at aprescribedpercentageofBasicpayplusDearnessAllowanceof Executives& NonExecutives, notified by theCompanyfromtimetotime.TheCompanywillbereviewing its financialperformanceannuallyandbased on this, the percentage of Companyscontribution to the Pension scheme will bedetermined. TheCompany reserves the right todiscontinuemakingcontributions to theSchemeat any time and also vary the percentage of

    management contribution every year based ontheaffordability/sustainability.

    6.2 Management contribution i.r.o Executives is 7%onbasic+DA,whereasitis5%onbasic+DAi.r.oNonexecutives.However,1%onbasic+DAupto30.06.2016isapplicableasonetimepaymentforNonexecutives.

    6.3 No initialcontributionwaspaid inrespectoftheExecutivesandNonExecutiveswhohave ceasedtobe inserviceonaccountofresignation,unlesshe/shejoinsanotherCPSEhavingsimilarscheme,andappliesforinclusion,throughproperchannel.

    6.4 RegularmanagementcontributionshallbemadetotheTrustattheendofeachfinancialyearafterreview of profitability and affordability/sustainability,atsuchpercentageoftheSalaryasthe Company may notify to the Trustees fromtimetotime.

    7.0 ExecutivesandNonExecutivesContribution:

    7.1 The Executives and NonExecutives who aremembersoftheschemehavetocontribute1%oftheir Basic pay Plus DA on a monthly basis.Executives and NonExecutives are also free tocontributemorethanminimumamountof1%.

    7.2 The Members contribution including optionalcontributions shall be recovered from themonthlysalaryandremittedtothePensionTrustforinvestmentwithFundManagers.

    7.3 All contributions to the Pension Trust will benonrefundable during the course ofemployment.

    8.0 Annuity purchase for the superannuated

    members:

    8.1 Atthetimeofretirement,theindividual,throughPensionTrustmay:

    1. Transfer his/her corpus lying with oneinsurance company for clubbing with thebalance availablewith the other InsuranceCompany and then annuity may bepurchased from either LIC of SBI LifeInsuranceCompanyLtd

    or2. from both Insurance Companies (viz.,

    Annuity Service Providers) as per theExecutives and NonExecutives choice ofproportion.

    8.2 The quantum of pension payable will dependupontheExecutivesandNonExecutivescorpuswhich consists of both eligible Managementcontribution and Members contribution

    (includingoptional contribution, ifany)madebytheExecutivesandNonExecutives.

    8.3 The service tax levybyGovernmentof Indiaonthe Annuity purchase price i.e., corpus will bebornebytheMembers/Nominee(s).

    Pension (Annuity) payablefor life at a uniform ratetill employee (annuitant)surviveswith provision ofpayment of 50% pension(annuity)tothespouseonthe death of theannuitant.

    9.0 AppointmentofNominee(s):

    9.1 EveryMembershallappointathisdiscretion,hisparent or his spouse, child/ children or in theabsence of the parent / spouse and child/children,anyotherpersonasNominee (s) in theeventofhis/herdeath.IfaMemberdieswhilstinservice,theTrusteesshallholdthebenefitsofthe

    scheme upon TRUST for payment to theNominee(s)asshallhavebeenappointedbytheMember.

    9.2 Every appointment of Nominee made shall bewriting signed by theMember and attested bytwowitnessesand shall remain in full forceandeffectuntilthedeathoftheNomineeoruntilthesamehasbeenrevokedinwritingbytheMemberandafreshnominationmade.

    9.3 Amembermayfromtimetotimeoratanytimewithout theconsentof theNomineechange theNominationbysubmittingawrittennoticeofthechange to the Trust in the prescribed formsatisfactory to the Trust. The New nominationshall take effect from date of receipt of thechangebytheTrust.

    9.4 IfaNomineeshallat the timeofhisNominationby theMember be aminor or otherwise underdisabilitytogivealegalreceiptordischargetotheTrust, the Member must at the time of suchnominationasaforesaidappointapersonwho isa major and who is capable of giving a legalreceiptordischargetotheTrustandtowhomthebenefitsaretobepaidforandonbehalfofsuchNominee.

    9.5 In the absence of any appointment of anyNominee (s) as aforesaid , the nomination

    submittedby theMember to theCompany i.r.o.EmployeesProvidentFund(EPF)shalldeemtobevalid nomination for the purpose of PensionundertheScheme,

    9.6 IftheNomineeisnotappointedunderthisruleasabove, then the benefits shall be paid to theMembersspouse,failingwhichtohis/herchild/children in equal shares, failing which to hisdependants / legal heirs in equal shares. If theMemberdoesnot leaveaspouse,child/childrenor dependants / legal heirs, then the benefitsshallberealizedbytheTrustandcreditedtotheSurplusAccount.

    10.0 General:

    10.1 TheTrustshallintimatetotherespectiveInsurer(s) /empanelled Annuity Service Provider (s) inwriting the pension option and the frequencyselectedby theMember /Nominee.Theoptiononce chosen cannot be changed and it shall befinal and binding on the Beneficiary. AnnuityProvider(s)will issue a certificate / Contract ofAnnuitytotheMember (s)onreceiptofAnnuityPurchasePricealongwith theapplication signedbytheMembers.

    10.2 The Members should furnish a Certificate ofExistence(SurvivalCertificate)onceayearaspertherequirementoftheFundManagers.

    10.3 ThePensionshallbepaid to theMemberasperfrequencychosen(monthly,quarterly,halfyearlyoryearly)andasperthepensionoptionselectedbyhim/herfromthevariousoptionsasofferedbytheInsurer(s)/EmpanelledAnnuityProvider(s).

    10.4 In case anyMember at the timeof cessationofserviceiswillingtocontributeoverandabovetheaccumulated corpus standing tohis credit in thesuperannuationfund,thesameisallowed.

    10.5 Payment of Management contribution towardsPension corpus under this scheme is subject toExecutive and NonExecutives vacating theCompanyowned/ leasedaccommodationasperCompany rules and payment of all outstandingduestotheCompanyasperrulesandregulationsofBEL.

    10.6 Undernocircumstances,thePensioncorpuslyingin the Trust Account is liable to attachment orcannotbe assigned, chargedor alienated in anymanner.ThePensionCorpuswillbeutilizedonlyfor the purpose of purchase of Annuity forpaymentofPensionbythe InsuranceCompany/AnnuityProvider.

    10.7 Income tax liability, if any, applicable on themonthly pensionwill bemet by theMember /Beneficiary. Necessary Incometax TDSCertificate (s) will be issued by the AnnuityProvider(s).
