Language Development and ProgressWith a dedicated approach the average learner o English can be expected to improve by the equivalento 1 band every 12 weeks. In order to ensure that you are progressing at this rate or better your Englishuse will be ormally assessed every 6 weeks using an internationally standardised examination ormat.This will be on top o regular weekly assessments o your learning and will allow you to check yourprogress and compare your language development with internationally recognised standards.

Our relationship with The College o Future Learning NZ in Hastings gives you the chance tomove on with your studies in the Hawkes Bay Region o the North Island. In this programme you willinitially work through a module that develops youEnglish language ability across all our skills andgives you the necessary strategies to meet theentry requirements o your intended place o study.Following on you will work through modules onproessional skills development and academicskills development. Our course is recognised by anumber o tertiary providers and it will prepareyou or a successul transition to higher tertiarystudies.

TESOL + TKTThis 5 week course will give you the building blocksnecessary to move orward into a career as aneective and competent English language teacher.Our highly experienced tutors will introduce you tothe current approaches to language teaching andurther consolidate the undamentals o languageawareness.

You will be equipped with the skills necessaryto plan and deliver eective and engagingclasses and manage the class so as to maximise

the learners interaction and uptake. During thecourse you will have the opportunity to observeexperienced tutors in action and in the last weekyou will deliver classes to genuine students. Aspart o this package you will be able to sit theCambridge Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) whichis internationally recognised.

Short CoursesI you are interested in a uture in the hospitalityindustry, we can oer you the opportunity tocouple your English study with a short course

tailored towards the needs o jobs in restaurants,caes and bars.

You are able to choose rom courses in CustomerService, Food Hygiene and Coee-making(barista). All o these courses are approved by theHospitality Standards Institute (HSI) and containcurrent material and topics directly aimed atsatisying the needs o the industry and makingyou more employable.

IELTS Examination PreparationA solid result in the IELTS examination is thedoorway to many opportunities in English speakingcountries ranging rom residency to academicstudy. Ive been working at Concordia since 2009, and the thing thats made the biggest impression onme as a teacher is the atmosphere. Our students are riendly, welcoming people who have as muchun studying together as they do socializing with each other at break times and during our schoolactivities.
