Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are constantly generated under normal conditions as a consequence of aerobic metabolism.

ROS include free radicals such as the superoxide anion (O2

To cope with the deleterious effects of reactive oxygen species, aerobic organisms are equipped with antioxidant enzymes.

More than a decade ago, a novel family of peroxidases named peroxiredoxins (Prxs) emerged. (Chae,etc.1994)

1. 使用 alignment in EBI and using GeneDoc in PSC

,為了比對 PeroxiredoxinⅠ~Ⅵ 胺基酸序列的特異性及保留性,與功能的關係。

2. 利用 Swiss pdb Viewer 軟體及網頁搜尋的PDB ID 檔,來觀察 PeroxiredoxinⅤ 與分子內或分子間的交互作用 (interaction) ,與酵素活性的關係。
