In our neighborhoods, there are millions of children are being shut down to dream simply because they
live in poverty. All children have the right to dream and the right to be supported to achieve their dreams.
An estimated 1.3 billion people live without access to electricity today. Left in the dark, most turn to
kerosene and other fossil fuels for light. Living with a kerosene lamp is like smoking 40 cigarettes a day, and
more than 1.8 million people a year die from complications arising from indoor air pollution. Kerosene fires are common, killing
more than 1 million each year. Combined, that is one death every 15 seconds.
So we have started “DREAM TOGETHER” project by giving lights to bring back those lost dreams. All ACES students,
teachers and staff are fully involved in this project and we are learning something incredible through this experience. Every
ACES student gets a solar powered LED lantern at the end of each month, they write personalized messages on their lanterns
to the children who will receive them. The personalized lanterns then get sent to the children around the world living without
access to electricity. ACES students’ dream lanterns improve the children’s quality of lives by lighting homes and enabling them
to study, families to read and all to feel safe and healthy. Everyone in ACES is learning that we all are a step closer to our
dreams as we dream together.
ACES believes in education that makes a difference. So we invite you to experience, achieve your dream and make a
difference in the world with us.
