2G IP new site intergration guide

There are two ways to do the IP new site intergration,one is USB Flash Drive for GBTS

Commissioning , the other one is SMT for GBTS Commissioning.

For USB Flash Commissioning ,you only need an USB,and put the BTS configuration file in the USB

accurately,then you plug the USB to the BTS;For the SMT commissioning ,you need connect to the BTS by a

laptop , then you can do the config of the BTS by SMT software.

About the two methods ,we recommend the USB commissioning ,if the USB commissioning is not

working ,you can use the SMT commissioning.

Step

Work procedure

1 The power for the BTS is OK and the BTS is power on;

2

Check the CWO status with CWO engineer, the port for BTS should be defined in the transmission side;

3Transmission for the site is OK,ping test from RTN or GPON to the BSC gateway is OK;

4If the transmission is pingable,go to the site and connect the LAN cable between the transmission FE1 port and GTMU FE0 port.

5Start the site intergration procedure,you can refer the 《2G IP new

site intergration guide》

一、USB Flash Drive for GBTS Commissioning1.Plug the USB flash drive into the USB port of the computer;

2.Create a folder named BTS3900 GSM in the USB flash drive;

3.Then create a folder named Site0 (the name is the site name ) in the folder BTS3900 GSM;

4.Copy the TransCfg.ini file to the folder ,you can get the TransCfg.ini file from the BSC intergration.

5.Check the status of the GBTS,make sure the GTMU board is power on and working nomal;

6.Put the USB flash into the USB port of the GTMU,

7.Do not remove the USB flash drive during the period from plugging in the flash drive to the duration of

normal operation of the base station. Otherwise, the file load or parsing fails.

Commissioning Phase

Status of the RUN Indicator on the GTMU

Duration

The base station automatically detects the USB flash drive after you plug in the USB flash drive and the base station is powered on.

Steady on Blinking slowly (ON for 1s and OFF for 1s)

About one to two seconds

The base station downloads the data configuration file from the USB flash drive.

Blinking Blinking quickly (ON for 0.125s and OFF for 0.125s)

About ten seconds

Normal base station operation


About three seconds



Commissioning Phase

Verifying the USB flash drive after resetting the base station

Blinking Blinking quickly (ON for 0.125s and OFF for 0.125s)

Finishing the verification (Remove the USB flash drive now. Otherwise, the base station cannot be started.)


If this status remains for more than one minute, the upgrading is successful.

8.Check with BSC integration team whether the BSC can Ping to the BTS IP.

二、Use SMT for GBTS Commissioning1.Set your computer IP address like below: IP address is 192.168.0.77,subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.



2.Use an Ethernet cable to connect the BTS and the laptop. One end is connected to the ETH port on the

GTMU of the main cabinet, and the other end is connected to the Ethernet port on the a laptop).

3.Run the SMT software.

4.Obtaining the Site Management Rights by click the “Site Management Right” and then click “Get”.



5.In the left pane of the SMT System window, select Site. In the right pane of the window, double-click

IP over FE Static IP.Confirm the static IP network, and then click OK.

6.In this dialog box,set the IP addresses of the BTS and BSC and other related parameters step by step like



below, the parameters in the red box are the same to all the sites,the parameters in the yellow box are different

to different sites.Click Config Para to complete the settings of the IP addresses and VLAN parameters.



7.Click the Config Router tab. On the Config Router tab page, set the route of the BTS, as shown

in the below picture.Every site we need add 3 router, first one goes to BSC DEVIP, other one goes to

IPCLK1,the last one goes to IPCLK2.

10.Click Config Para to complete the setting of the route.



11.Click the Query tab. On the Query tab page, click Query to query the static IP addresses.

Make sure all the parameters are correct according to the IP design.



12.Click the “Board” in the left panel ,then click “Board Management”,then right click GTMU board,choose

“Board Reset” to reset the site.

13.After the site reset,you should contact the BSC intergation ,check whether they can PING to the BTS

IP, if the site is up,you can see the board is OK.

If the site is UP, also you should check with the BSC interation whether there are any alarms in the BTS and

Clear all the alarms.
