•Social Bookmarking Sites are websites that allow the user to store internet site urls “in the cloud” for easy retrieval from any computer with internet access.

•Unlike bookmarking your favorites on your own computer, you have access to your favorite websites from any internet connected computer or device such as a mobile smart phone or ipad like device.
•The Websites are organized by “tags” or labels, and can be shared with others in the user’s “network”

The site has a downloadable tool bar which allows ease of bookmarking, highlighting, applying interactive sticky notes to websites
Site allows organization of websites by content specific, user defined “tags”
Searches can be done via “tags” of all websites
Users can set up groups with similar interests, receive alerts , share tagged websites, from others in their group or community
Site has a very user friendly video tutorial which explains features
Has both a “free” and paid version. Educational version available

This site does NOT have the functionality of highlighting and interactive sticky notes

•Diigo also allows easy exporting of bookmarks/tags to Delicious
•I’ve been a long time Delicious user, but am now switching to Diigo.
•I’ve set up a school Diigo account, as well as a personal one.
•I will share the school Diigo link with all the teachers at my school.
•Of course, I’ll share contacts between the 2!

This is a social bookmarking site specifically tailored to apps for ipod and Android devices. It is similar to both Diigo and Delicious.
