    Humidity Sensor Error

Sensor Errors are generated when the MAIN PCB sees the sensor as either open or shorted.

From the applicable connector at the Main PCB check for dc voltage to the sensor (0 or 5 Vdc would indicate a shorted or open Sensor) or disconnect power to the refrigerator and check resistance (0 or ohms indicate a shorted or an opened sensor). If sensor failed, check the exposed Sensor wire connections outside of liner to determine if the wiring in the cabinet is the issue.

With the exception of the Pantry, Room and Humidity Sensors, all sensor errors will be displayed after the 3 Hour hold window. To bring up the errors sooner then the 3 hour window or to display the error exceptions, Press and hold the Freezer and Ice Plus buttons together.

    ERIF

    ERrF

    ERCF

    ERFF

    Ice Room Fan Error

    Freezer Fan Error

    Refrigerator Fan Error

    Condenser Fan Error

Fan Errors are generated when the Main PCB does not see a feed back signal from the fan.

Most Fans have 3 wires (voltage, ground and feedback). If the Main PCB does not see the correct feedback signal from the fan to verify it is running correctly (the signal voltage should correspond to the voltage supplied by the Main PCB) an error will be generated in approximately 60 seconds. Typical feedback voltage is 2 to 4 Vdc.

The feedback circuit can be measured at the G and F connector of the fan in question at the Main PCB.

If the fan is running and an error code is displayed, the fan motors feedback circuit is defective and the motor needs replacing. The Feedback signal at the main board will most likely be less then 2 or greater than 5.

Lower than 9 Vdc output indicates a bad Main PCB.

Remember the error will occur after 3 failed attempts (see Chart) and takes up to 3 hours before it is displayed.

Feedback voltage normally 2 to 4 Vdc

Normal voltage to fan motor 9 to 15 Vdc

    Freezer Defrost Error

    Refrigerator Defrost Error

    Defrosting Errors

Defrosting errors occur because an hour has elapsed in the defrost Cycle and the defrost sensor has not reached the termination point of 46 F.

Check the Heater Thermal Fuse, Heater, Wiring, Sensor and Main PCB.

If the error is displayed and the power to the refrigerator is disconnected the error will be erased and will not return until after the next defrost cycle.

    Harvest Error

    Flow Meter Error

The ER iT Error occurred because the icemaker Hall Sensor did not detect Icemaker tray movement.

Check the Icemaker Motor, Hall Sensor, Wiring. This error usually requires the Icemaker Kit to be replaced.

This Error can only be brought up manually. It will not automatically display this error.

The ER gF Error occurred because there was no input from the Flow Meter.

Check the Flow Meter, Inlet Valves, Wiring, and Main PCB.

This Error can only be brought up manually. It will not automatically display this error.

An ER iT Error most likely will be a failure of the Icemaker Kit

For a ER gF Error check the water valves and the flow meter on the pilot valve.

    Communication Errors

    Communication Error

Communication Errors occur when the Main PCB can not communicate with the display PCB.

Check the wire harness at the top of the Left Door, check for 5Vdc at CON 5 pin 6, check for a communication signal at Display PCB CON 101 pins 1 & 2, and check the wiring in the Left Door.

Check the signal at either Main PCB, Display PCB or harness at top of Left door a good signal will be a pulsing 5Vdc.

With the new models of LG Refrigerators, there is a new design Door Switch being used. This new Door Switch employs an internal reed switch and magnets in the door to operate. Therefore, there is nothing protruding, as seen in the previous design. We have seen multiple cases where the Door Switches are not reconnected after the Door was removed for installation. We feel that since there is no aspect of the Door Switch seen externally, it may be easy to neglect. Please make sure that the Door Switches are reconnected at the time of installation.of a range of Freezer or Fresh Food temperatures.
