3. Test Intentions: The intention of test is to check the signaling traffic handling capability of following interfaces in SUT and between two PCG, there is probably some SUT-TG for bear channel.

4. Operation Steps Step1: Configure Protocol Selection. (1) Open configure/ Protocol selection/ Card Panel, set signaling as “SS7” and set side as

“Exchange” and choose corresponding Frame being used in SUT.

(2) SUT setting use default value.

(3) Choose corresponding Impedance of SUT.

(4) Disable those not-using PCG port. In this test, we just use port1 of each card for signal link and Port2 of each card for Bear channels .

(5) Open configure / Protocol selection/ SS7/ SSP Panel, set the SSP of PCG1 as 100, set the SSP of PCG2 as 200 and set the SSP of SUT as 300.

(6) Both add one linkset on two PCG cards, click slot5 so as to do configuration on PCG of slot5, Circ means the port1 of slot5 PCG, use timeslot 1 as the link, please note: the Max link in per linkset is 16. Here we just configure one link in its linkset. And DPC is the point code of SUT.

(7) Configure the Routing Map, SSP-1 of slot 5-----SUT and SSP-2 of slot 7-- -SUT.

(8) Open configure / Protocol selection/ SS7/Trunk Groups/SS7 Physical Panel, because we are

using port 2 of each card for bear channel, here we should assign these bear channels into two Trunk Group (Group No. is different but it is not mandatory same to its linkset No. ) because they are in different PCG card.

(9) Choose corresponding linkset for each Trunk Group and configure same CIC being used in SUT, Choose same protocol being used in Protocol selection/ SS7/SSP panel.

(10) Timeslot 1 of each port1 is for signal, other 30 timeslot is not using; 31 timeslots of each port2

are using for bear channels, which are in two different trunk group as above setting.

(11) Use E1 trunk for its system clock, which means that Abacus will keep its clock as synchronization with SUT and keep from slips.

Step2: set Phone number. Own is its own phone number, 1000001-1000062 is for the 62 channels of

port2 of each PCG card. And External is the phone number of callee when link uses “External” in Partition /Association Panel.

Step3: Open configure/channels window, we can use all default value.

Step4: Open Call Sequence/ Partition and Timing. (1) Configure 31 bear channels of PCG1 port2 as originator and other as terminator. Links can use External or E1 SS7 Ex2.

(2) Set SS, CL and IC, which is call load type.

(3) The script of originator set uses “A call B (ISUP) and confirm for call length”, and script of

terminator set uses “Default”; all other parameters in Partition /Protocols or Partition/ Phones & Endpoints use default value.

Step5: Start the configuration and check the testing result.

5. Test result analysis:

(1) Open Channels status and statistics to check the test status and result.

(2) Open Monitor/ call tracer /data link Monitor A and B to monitor the signal message on two linksets.

6. NOTE: when E1 physical status is not UP, try to use following suggestion: 1. Check whether E1 cable is ok , please refer to Chapter 12 in Hardware Manual for RJ48. 2. Check whether CRC configuration should be consistent between PCG and SUT. 3. Check which clock should be used. (Sometime should use E1 trunk clock resource) 4. Disable those ports that you are not using. 5. use Setup SC/Update FW to check if the firmware is consistent between SC and GUI 6. Sometime, need you to click Run, then you will find physical link up. 7. Sometime, you need to change Jumpers of PCG rear card.

Please refer page 166 in Hardware Manual (under C:\Abacus 5000\6.00\MANUAL) 8. Sometime, you need to set Abacus as exchange or set abacus as subscriber in Plt selection

window of Abacus GUI, just depend on SUT’s setting.
