The vulnerability due to extreme seismic events for structures like bridges, dams etc is growing with time. As these extreme seismic events are located in the tail end of the frequency distribution curve, these are mostly neglected in the design of structures in economical point of view. This had lead to severe damage of many bridges in the past. In this paper, the dynamic response of a long span cable stayed bridge when subjected to extreme seismic event is studied. The results are presented in terms of displacements, shear force, bending moments in structural components of bridge and axial forces in cables at critical sections of the bridge. 1 Department of First author, Institution, City of Institution, Country, e- mail address 2 Department of Second author, Institution, City of Institution, Country, e- mail address 3 Department of Third author, Institution, City of Institution, Country, e- mail address 1

EXTREME SEISMIC EVENT ANALYSIS OF A CABLE STAYED BRIDGE

Name1Surname11, Name2 Surname22 and Name3 Surname33

The extreme nature of earthquake had lead to many devastations in the past.

Title of the abstract should be written centred using bold upper case 16 point Times New Roman font with two blank lines left above and one left beneath. After one blank line, authors’ full names should be written. The full address, institution’s name, city and e-mail address of each author should be given separately as footnote on the first page. Footnote should be in 10 point Times New Roman font. Authors’ names should be followed by 2 blank lines.Single line spacing with Times Roman 11 point font should be used within the body text. Please indent second and following paragraphs 0.5 cm. Abstract should not be more than 500 words. You need to upload your abstract in pdf format to the internet site at www.icee-pdrp2016.com.
