Brief Description:
Project Lifeboat aims to raise awareness on the importance of Disaster Management in the Filipino
community. One of its main objectives is to teach communities the proper procedures to be taken in
emergency situations, especially with the recent calamities in the forms of earthquakes in Cebu and the
most recent Typhoon Haiyan, or locally known as Typhoon Yolanda. The internship is for 6-8 weeks and
will be divided into two: six weeks for learning and two weeks for application and teaching. In
cooperation with different NGOs and UP organizations that specialize in the field of survival, rescue, and
disaster management, the interns will be participating in different seminars as well as training programs
in the first six weeks. They will learn about different survival skills and the fundamentals of disaster
management so that, in an effort to reduce large-scale disaster risk by increasing society’s awareness
and preparedness, the following two weeks will be used to apply what they have learned by imparting
the skills they’ve acquired to different local communities.

Brief Description: Canvas Manila is an avenue to learn and to promote Filipino arts and culture. It aims to
deliver hands-on experience to Exchange Participants through learning first-hand from its
partner organizations and from travelling to and living with indigenous and native groups
in the Philippines, specifically in Northern Luzon. The project will allow its participants to be
immersed in contemporary Filipino art, such as music, poetry and other forms by going to
different events in the Metro. Most importantly, it will deliver, promote and preserve
Philippine art and culture to the masses through social media and other forms of
communication, like community immersions, outreach programs and Heritage Hypes.

Job Description: Attend workshops and seminars on traditional and contemporary art in the Philippines. He will visit
museums, art spaces and other traditional and modern cultural events in the city and in nearby provinces.
Visit an indigenous group and be immersed in their community for a week, learning their art, cultural
dances, their ways of life, and the like. An additional fee of USD100 will be charged to cover the trip's
travel, living and tour expenses.
Vew classical and contemporary acclaimed Filipino films and research on and discuss their significance in
the Philippine context and society.
Submit at least 2 blog outputs per week. These will be featured in Canvas Manila's blog, a blog presenting
the different experiences of the exchange participants during their stay in the Philippines.
Participate in community outreaches and volunteer activities in synergy with the other projects of AIESEC
UP Diliman, called Lifeboat, Inspire, and Wonder.
Immerse in communities to provide livelihood and rehabilitation sessions through art.
Attend workshops and rehearsals on Philippine ethnic instruments to learn more about traditional music in
the Philippines.
Teach public school students about their culture and what they have learned during their stay in the
Philippines (during the High School academic year only - June until March)
Learn about the significance of the jeepney in the Philippine culture, a public transportation vehicle in the
Philippines. These will be executed by the organizing committee.
Create a design for the jeepney. You will be painting this design on an actual jeepney to provide service to
the jeepney drivers and promote art and culture in the Philippines.

Brief Description:
Formerly named “INSPIRE”, Kickstart aims to raise youth volunteerism in a variety of social
issues and problems such as gender inequality, street children, maternal care and many
more. To broaden the scope of the project as well as the experience of the interns, the
project aims to cover as much as social issues as it can by partnering with NGOs of varied
backgrounds. Each intern will volunteer for 2 NGOs, a 3 week-long internship each per NGO.
In order to bridge the gap between the NGOs and the youth, the interns will be working with
students during outreaches for the poorer communities of the Philippines. They will also be
taking part in a livelihood program benefitting young women from humble backgrounds.

Job Description: The Exchange Participant is expected to: (1) participate in the activities of partner NGOs
(learning partners) for a first-hand experience of volunteerism in the Philippines, (2) organize

our learning partners, (3) take part in Inspire's very own start-up livelihood program by
creating a marketing plan, managing the brand, selling the products, and organizing mini-
projects that will benefit it, (4) learn how to create "upcycled" items with old clothes and
instruct the target beneficiaries of the livelihood program how to do the same, and (5)
document his/her experiences at the partner NGOs and communities through writing and/or

Brief Description: Project Wonder exists to empower the Philippine Special Education (SpEd) community. Here, we believe
that children with special needs, who are often looked at as the "pariahs" or "lepers" of society, deserve
to be heard. Wonder has two main thrusts: to raise awareness for the SpEd community in the Philippines,
and to maximise the impact delivered to these children through the community that surrounds them.
Through the design of this project, the EP is in charge of crafting his/her own experience. He/she can
bring whatever skills, talents, or passions he/she has to the table, whether it be music, art, sports, writing,
film, or anything else under the sun, and use these to bring a unique impact to the community.
During this internship, which lasts 6-8 weeks, potential exchange participants will immerse in the
Philippine SpEd community. They will first be equipped with the skills and knowledge to fully engage in
the internship by volunteering with Wonder’s partner NGOs, schools, and university-based organisations.
EPs will have the chance to learn about the wide spectrum of physical, intellectual, developmental,
and learning disability, (including but not limited to autism, Down syndrome, deafness, blindness,
dyslexia, etc.), and the many problems, solutions, and realities that we face here in the Philippines. To
fully equip them for the community immersion work that they will do, they will also be taught basic sign
language, braille, and the proper manner of interacting with children with different types of special
needs.
Fully equipped with the skills and knowledge they need, the EPs will then proceed with the community
immersion. Their first task is to venture deep into the community to asses its’ needs and to find the kids
that need help. EPs will also organize initiatives to educate the community about SpEd, and to facilitate
the integration of these children into the general community.
The EP will be required to document his/her exchange experience through the creation of short video
blogs. These will be used maintain Project Wonder’s YouTube. He/she is required to post a video once a
week. Another requirement is the creation of a simple marketing campaign to raise awareness for SpEd.
Lastly, the EP will spearhead numerous Income Generating Projects, to raise money to donate
specialised equipment to children in need.

Job Description:
Volunteer and participate in the activities of select student-run organzations, and non-governmental
organizations to learn more about special education in the Philippines.
Learn how to interact with children with special needs. This includes basic sign language, braille,and the proper way to respond to children with intellectual disability.
Raise money to donate specialized equipment to these children and their families through Income
Generating Programs. These include, but are not limited to, garage sales, bake sales, etc.
Immerse in the community to find children and families to whom they will deliver impact. If they cannot
find these kids, they may choose to focus on educating the general community instead.

Empower families by helping them find the solutions they need to support their children. They will learn
about these solutions through the various schools and NGOs they will immerse in.
Participate in the project's Adopt-A-Family program, where they will aid them with their day-to-day
activities.
Organize events for the education of the general community on issues surrounding SpEd. These may be in
the form of seminars, talks, etc.
Facilitate integration of the children with special needs with the rest of the community through initiatives
like field trips, sports fests, outreach progams, and more.
Raise awareness for the SpEd community through a marketing campaign and/or content creation. This
will include maintaining Wonder's YouTube channel.
Create progress reports of their exchange experience and the impact delivered to the community, to be
used by succeeding set of EPs.

Brief Description: Specializing in the legal protection and promotion of children rights. It
aims to advance the best interests of children and contribute to national development
efforts by: (1) providing facilitative legal recourse to child-related concerns; (2)

Brief Description:
The Bahay Tsinoy (literally Chinese-Filipino House) is a museum located in the Intramuros (Old
Walled City) section of Manila. Housed within the Kaisa-Angelo King Heritage Center building,
the museum documents the history, lives and contributions of the Chinese in the Philippine life
and history.
The museum was designed by Eva Penamora in collaboration with the late architect Honrado
Fernandez in 1996, and completed and inaugurated in 1999. Kaisa Para sa Kaunlaran, Inc., a
non-profit organization co-founded by Teresita Ang-See, envisioned the project to provide
another venue for advocating patriotism to the Philippines and promoting cultural identity and
understanding between the local Chinese and Filipino communities, after the much-award bi-
lingual children's educational television program Pinpinin the early 90's.
Funding for the land and building structure was advanced by Angelo King Foundation and
eventually raised through generous contributions from different levels of Filipino-Chinese
community, from taipans to average wage-earners.

The museum is fully air-conditioned and housed within the Kaisa-Angelo King Heritage

Pao Shi Tien and Madame Limpe seminar rooms, which all constitute the Kaisa Heritage

Brief Description:
Miriam College (Tagalog: Dalubhasaang Miriam) is a non-stock, non-profit Filipino
Catholic educational institution for girls and young women in Quezon City, Philippines.

Brief Description: The National Alliance Youth Leaders is a non-profit organization that pioneered National
Congress of College Councils 2014, a conference that tackled budget reforms in the education
sector. This year, NAYL’s two projects are the “UGNAYAN SUMMIT 2015” and the “Tatak Botante:
A Voters Education Campaign in the Philippines”, which has become the Commission on
Election’s youth arm.
Tatak Botante is a voters education campaign under the management of the National Alliance
of Youth Leaders. The campaign aims to encourage the nation’s citizens, particularly the youth,
to openly express their intent to participate in the electoral system of the Philippines by registering
in the Commission on Elections roster of eligible voters
It also strives to be a forefront on educating the youth on matters regarding the electoral system
of the Philippines, including its history, basic processes, and current issues.
As well, it seeks to serve as a venue for discussion among the voters and candidates of elections
by conducting electoral fora and convocations

Job Description:
1. The interns will be doing OC (organizing committee) work like delegate management
during the Ugnayan Summit which is a conference that gathers student leaders from all
around the country to talk about ASEAN Integration and other issues.
2. Aside from OC work, they will also serve as facilitators during some portions of the
conference so that they can talk about their country, cultures and education system since it
is in line with the ASEAN Integration.
3. The intern/s will be doing OC (organizing committee) work, like media development,
event publicity, and content research, for the campaign of Tatak Botante
4. The intern must be able to maintain a personal online blog of his/her exchange
experience and of his/her experience as part of the organizing committee of Tatak Botante.
He/She must be able to at least one (1) blog update every week for the duration of his/her
exchange period. A number of photos and/or videos must be included in the blog posts;
posts must be in the English language, an accompanying translation of the posts into his/her
native language is highly encouraged. The intern is expected to be present in all the OC
meetings he/she is invited to and/or required to be in.

5. The intern is expected to get himself/herself familiar with the Tatak Botante campaign

as an organization. Further research outside the provided references is encouraged and

Brief Description:
Monark Foundation, Inc. (MFI) was established in 1997 with the vision of providing job
opportunities to determined, less-privileged Filipino youth by providing them knowledge,
skills and values that will enable them to become responsible citizens, making a difference
in society.
Initially offering the course Heavy Equipment Servicing, MFI now also offers Automotive
Servicing, Industrial Office Management (for female), and Operator Development Short
Courses. In 2004, MFI was recognized as the Center Of Excellence in Autotronics by the
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). It was also awarded Best
Dual Training Institution-National Level in 2006.
In 2008, MFI launched its Flagship Project, “Technicians for the World” in collaboration with
Caterpillar Asia Pacific. Under this project, MFI will produce highly skilled, value-laden
technicians for Monark Equipment, other CAT Dealers around the world, as well as its
Mining customers. It uses the Caterpillar Apprentice Service Technicians Training (CASTT)
Program and applies the Caterpillar Assessment Tools and learning standards to ensure
that graduates of the program have the required skills to become Caterpillar technicians.

Job Description:
To support the Professionalism Enhancement Programs (PEP) Manager in her efforts to
upgrade current programs, evaluate their effectiveness, design & implement programs
as needed
Research and design (training needs analysis) for staff, scholars & scholar's families
Evaluate program effectiveness
Evaluate current workplace procedures and workplace practices
Support with documentation of processes
Co-facilitate or conduct programs
Preferred Background: Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Education
