ПЕРША ЛЮДИНА.

Все почалося з однієї людини.Всім було цікаво, що вона робить, перетягуючи ці великі повітряні кулі. Кулі так схожі на ті, якими вони грались на піщаних пляжах Радянського Сою-зу, коли були дітьми. Кожного дня вона повільно ру-хатиметься з кульками на мотузці, поки її образ не стане повністю асоціюватися з однією з цих куль.Деякі висувають припущення, що повітряні кулі – це весь її життєвий багаж, її переживання, жаль, але ж і досягнення, і успіхи. Всі ці речі були настіль-ки важливі для неї, що одного дня ці повітряні кулі і вона сама перетворилися на єдине ціле.Так була створена перша людина з повітряних ку-льок. Перетворення відбулося не відразу, пройшов деякий час та почали з’являтися нові істоти з цього виду. Чоловіки і жінки почали перетворюватися на «людей з кульок». Життя розвивається природнім шляхом, тож чоловіки і жінки з повітряних кульок почали мати цілком природний вигляд. Нові пор-трети цих істот з’являлися завдяки художнику, що ніби захищав їх вид та їхній спосіб життя.

Картина (Дивна Галактика) була джерелом натх-нення для моїх картин із повітряними кулями. Коли я закінчив її, дружина мого хорошого друга, поди-вилися на неї і сказала: «… яка дивна ідея: малю-вати повітряні кульки». Навіть якщо це і не було так, це зауваження залишилося в моїй пам’яті і наштовхнуло на ідею, яка реалізувалася в цій ви-ставці «Balloon people».

THE FIRST MAN.

It all started with this one man.People were wondering what was he doing dragging these big balloons. Like the ones they used to play with on the sandy beaches of the Soviet Union when they were kids. He would be seen dragging these balloons day in and day out until the image of him would become closely associated with the one of those balloons. Some say the balloons represented all his life’s baggage, his worries, his regrets, but also his achievements, and his success. They were so im-portant to his life that one day those balloons and himself turned into one entity.The first balloon man was created. It did not happen overnight, but over a certain time, in which other people seemed to evolve into this strange new spe-cies…Men and women started to transform them-selves into “Balloon people”. Life was evolving quite naturallyand the sight of Balloon men and women became natural. Successful balloon people had their portraits painted by famous Balloon artist who in turn helped to preserve the “balloon people’s” way of life...

This painting (Strange Galaxy) was the inspiration for my balloon paintings, when I finished it the wife of a good friend of mine looked at it and said “… what a strange ideato do a painting of balloons”… Even though it was not, this remark stayed in my brain and gave me the idea that developed into this exhibition of paintings of “Balloon people”.

A SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Alain Rodier is a portrait and fashion photographer turned artist in 1990.

Born in 1962 in Saint Julien en Genevoix in France. He studies economics in Paris, then quickly turns to studies in cinema as well as in photography. He becomes an assistant in both fields from 1981 to 1983. The year 1983 is the year of the start of a fashion photography career with publications in Vogue, l’Officiel, Marie Clair advertising for Givenchy, Dior. That will last until 1990 with extensive periods of time in Australia, the United States, France, Italy and ends in the UK in London. This is when he stops fashion and concentrates on his own artwork, first with collages then with paintings. He starts to include his silkscreened photographs in the composition of the paintings. This experimentation entailed his first solo exhibition in 1991 with following shows in the USA (1994) France (1995), the UK (1998) Netherlands (2008) and Lebanon (2011). Moves to Kyiv in Ukraine in February 2013.

Алан Родьє, фотограф, художник, працює в жанрі портретної та фешн-фотографії.

Народився в 1962 році в Сен-Жульен-ан-Женевуа, Франція. Вивчав економіку в Парижі, однак згодом почав вивчати фотографію та кінематограф. З 1981 по 1983 працює асистентом в обох галузях. З 1983 року його знімки публікує Vogue, l’Officiel, Marie Clair. Крім того, він знімає рекламу для Givenchy та Dior. На початку дев’яностих художник концентрується на власній творчості та починає створювати колажі, використовуючи свої фотографії в якості основи. Перша персональна виставка художника відкривається в 1991 році. Наступний рік він проводить між Лондоном та Парижем, працюючи над новим проектом та портретами на замовлення. Після короткої подорожі до Америки вирішує на деякий час оселитися в Лос-Анджелесі. У 1994 відкривається його перша виставка у Нью-Йорку, у 1995 – у Парижі, у 1998 – у Лондоні. У 2013 році оселяється в Україні, де живе і нині.
