DESCRIPTION

Dr. Edward Sabotka, a mathematician and educator who taught in many universities around the USA and world, passed away in December 28, 2008. He obtained his doctorate in Mathematics from Lehigh University in 1971 under the direction of Gregory Thomas McAllister, Jr. The topic of his thesis was " Estimates for the Discrete Green's Function and its Difference Quotients". Edward was a prolific mathematician open to discussions about almost any topic in Mathematics and physics. He was also extremely well read in literature and poetry, and could recite famous poems and passages from books word for word to the amazement of his audience. Unfortunately, he was not fond of publishing. So many of his views and mathematical discoveries will likely remain unknown to posterity. Edward Sabotka was born on November 22, 1942, in West Rutland, Vermont.
