Imperatives don’t usually have a subject unless itis necessary to make it clear who is being giventhe command.Eg. Jordan, shut the door.The word you in front of an imperative can showanger:eg. You be quiet!

Negative Imperatives start with don’t (Don’t smoke.)Do at the beginning.(Do give me a call.) makes the request soundmore polite. However, this is rarelyused in North American English.
