Free Surface Modeling | Overview 自由表面 | 概要
Models the dynamic boundary of liquid volume
Key applications
Mixing and agitation in partially filled containers
Tank sloshing due to acceleration
Pouring, spilling
Flow through culverts, dams, spillways
© 2009 Autodesk
• CAD preparation
• If liquid region is partially full initially, model the liquid region in CAD
• Materials
• Assign a single fluid material (ie. Water) everywhere the liquid could occupy
• Boundary conditions
• If filling or drawing from a tank, assign BCs as you normally would.
• Starting fluid height
• Within Initial Conditions, specify the initial Height of Fluid on the starting liquid volume
• Meshing
• Mesh all fluid parts and areas the fluid could occupy
• Solving
• Hit “Free Surface” button on physics tab
• Turn on free surface solver
• Specify constant gravity vector
• If tank is accelerating (ie. sloshing analysis) specify accel
• Use default transient solver options (set automatically)
