Officers’ Offerings High Priestess

Congratulations to all the new Officers and Aides and thank you for accepting your positions! Thank you to all the ladies of Sphinx Court who helped to make the Installation of Officers so beautiful and

memorable! Also a big thank you to all of you who accepted Committee positions. We have a lot of work to do for the Court and we can’t do any of it without you! Our motto this year is “It’s all about each other” and I know if we work together we can accomplish anything!

Our calendar is set and I will keep it updated if anything changes, so make sure you check the back page of the Cactus Chatter so you don’t miss anything. Some highlights include a “Sunset by the Sea” Painting Party Fund Raiser on September 24th, the first Membership Tea on October 2nd, first Ceremonial on November 19th and a Fashion Show and Luncheon on February 4th. Lots more to come, so keep checking the calendar.

April 25th is our first meeting and I currently have April 17th at 2pm scheduled for Practice for the new Court Officers. We may move this to a different date, so if I can work that out I will send out a notice in the Cactus Chat-ter Update emails. Please be sure to contact Debbie Jones if you are not on the standing court dinner list and would like to join us for dinner on the 25th.

I’m looking forward to attending all the Unit Installations in April. Then Grand Council is just around the cor-ner! Most of us are driving. This is sure to be a fun year, as I know some surprises are planned while we are there. I’m glad to see so many of our court plan to attend this year. Our last meeting before the summer is Mon-day, May 23rd, when we return. I hope to see everyone there.

Janet Massey and I are looking for community events that we can attend during the summer to promote Sphinx Court and find potential new member candidates. If anyone has suggestions, please give Janet a call. Our theme this year is “Give your ideas wings and your imagination will soar!” and I hope everyone will do just that. New ideas for helping the Shrine Kids, bringing in new members, raising funds for the Court and having fun is what we are looking for. So put on your thinking caps and share your ideas.

Princess What an exciting Installation. we are looking forward to another fun filled year, and wish Lady Karen as much fun as Lady Mimi our Jr. PHP had this past year.

Lady Karen, our High Priestess, has everything under control for our trip to Costa Mesa next month and I have not seen anything on WAOUM in Medford, Oregon, but when I do, I will start looking for air fares.

HAPPY NEW Sphinx Court

YEAR!

The Sun Unit

Congratulations Lady Karen and Officers

The Past High Priestess Club

Associate Princess Ladies, the year is off to a great start after a wonderful Installation Ceremony! Before Lady Iris moved to her new position as Princess, she donated 130 skeins of yarn to the Court! We now have to convert these skeins into crochet/knit items for the hospitals – lap blankets for wheelchairs, afghans for beds,

hats for cold little heads, whatever they need. If you, or anyone you know, would like to help us by doing some crocheting and knitting, please let me know! This is a great project that can involve the entire court. Thank you, Lady Iris!

It is good to see our newer members taking part in Court activities. Some were even installed this month as appointed officers and aides. It was also nice to see some of our long-time members who haven’t been able to get to meetings for a while. If you have a friend who hasn’t been attending Court meetings, please give her a call and invite her to the April 25th meeting. Imagine what a great first meeting Lady Karen will have if the auditorium is full! Let’s try and make that happen!

First Ceremonial Lady I would really like to thank everyone for making our installation of officers a wonderful day. I’m sorry to see Mimi go and I welcome Karen as our new High Priestess. WOW can you believe that it’s already April? I guess time flies while you’re having fun. As part of my

new position I have already started recruiting new ladies who would like to join our organization. I am up to six names to kick this year off and I’m looking for a heck of a lot more. Let’s get membership up and build on the hard work that Mary Lou put in last year and double that number.

Ok, ok and I promise I won’t get Debbie into too much trouble. Again thank you all so much for the support and friendship, it means the world to me. If you all need anything, please call or email me.

Owl be seeing you, Lady Janet Massey

confirm your spot on the permanent dinner list. In the meantime, you can call me or email me about the list. Here’s to a great year! Love from your blooming Mushroom!

Audit Committee The Year End audit went very well. It only took us

1 ½ days this year which says something about the state of the books. There were very few errors, still some write/strikeovers but for the most part they were done correctly and initialed. We did have some re-ports missing and are getting those in this week so they can be distributed.

So, ladies, give yourselves a pat on the back and thank you for the good work. Lady Joy Moore, GHP also had some very good things to say about the books after her December audit. I believe the mini-audits will continue as they proved to be very benefi-cial at each audit. More to come from Lady Karen, HP and her Committee Chairman, Renate Sweat about that.

Thank you so very much to my committee, Sally Wulff and Cindy Lueck for their hard work, Lady Mimi, Jr. PHP for being there and keeping our spirits up and Linda DuBois for attending as pro tem for the Trustee. Lady Renate Sweat and Lady Janet Mielke also sat in so they could see what they were in for next year. Thank you. Andie Lacombe, Chairman Audit Committee

WAOUM 2017 Committee Your WAOUM 2017 officers have been meeting

with the committees and they are doing a great job putting together plans for the Most Wonderful WAOUM ever!

Our next general meeting will be on Monday, May 2nd at 6:30 at El Zaribah. There will be an order form for you to order your vest, please either attend or send your size with a friend since the order needs to be sent in as soon as possible so that we can get all the sizes we need.

Good News Lady Sally Wullf’s health is improving after many tests

Funeral Director Ladies, it is that time again. If you have a funeral

robe (white) and are no longer an officer, it needs to be returned to me. Please check your closet and see if there is a robe hiding therein

Thank you everyone for the way you always do everything you can to help. It makes the Funeral Di-rector's job so much easier.
