ColaFax CPE
INCI NAME:High Monoester Cetyl Phosphate
CAS #: 3539-43-3
EINECS #:222-581-1
OVERVIEW
ColaFax CPE is an oil soluble long chain organicphosphate ester supplied as a ree acid in fakeorm. It is generally used as a co-emulsier withlow HLB nonionics, and is non-irritating to skin.ColaFax CPE is easily dissolved into either phaseduring emulsion processing and can be neutral-ized in-situ with various cations. ColaFax CPE, atlow use concentrations, will enhance the stabil-ity o emulsions and thicken cremes and lotions.
It can replace TEA-stearate in most preparations.ColaFax CPE is ideally suited or use in many der-matological and personal care products.
BENEFITS
Emulsion stabilizer overcomes imbalances inHLB emulsier values or various oil systems.
Easy to ormulate. Acid orm is oil soluble;neutralized salts are water-soluble.
Can be substituted or polyacrylic acid typepolymers, which are requently utilized asemulsion stabilizers without increasing viscos-
ity to an unacceptable limit.

Physically easier to use than polyacrylicacid. No dispersion, wetting problems orsh eyes in solution.
Good rub out and atereel. Does notinhibit quick break emulsion properties.
Primary emulsier, providing excellentperormance at normal skin pH.
Easy-to-handle fake with no noxious dust
particles.
VISCOSITY RESPONSE
Figure 1 demonstrates the eect ColaFax CPEhas on emulsion viscosity. At low concentrations,ColaFax CPE will eectively increase viscosityand aid in the stabilization o the emulsion sys-tem. Formulations containing ColaFax CPE willdisplay enhanced shear, heat and reeze-thaw
stability. ColaFax CPE will also enhance theglossy appearance o cosmetic cremes.
