LowBeta Optics Measurement

• On January 26, 2008 used ~4 hours of proton only time to take the following data– Orbit Response Measurement on proton

helix– Orbit Response Measurement on central

orbit– Orbit Response Measurement on

simulated pber helix– Turn-by-turn on central orbit– Turn-by-turn on proton helix

• This was first time we ever got pbar helix data

Summary• Analysis of luminosity behavior suggested that large

CDF/D0 luminosity ratio was explained by D* at D0• This was confirmed by optics measurement • Based on the results of optics measurement a

correction was developed with the following conditions– Keep values of * at CDF and D0 equal– Reduce D*

x at D0– Keep the required tune changes minimal– Avoid large helix changes

• The correction has been implemented EOS 5887 and Store 5891. Luminosity ratio since store 5891 is between 1 and 3%

• History of optics changes indicates high sensitivity to orbit stability (single LB quad 60m -> 1mm in arcs)
