Format/Structure
More interactive tools allow people to participate (e.g. likes, comments, shares). More vivid narratives.
More people can get involved.
Videos, photos, sounds act like evidence for new form of archives.
Drawbacks (?) Confusing provenance.
Reliability
Preservation
Thai values
reflected in
the use of
social media
Heroes / leaders
Benevolence
Emotions gratitude
Solidarity (globally)
Subjectivity
But more participatory
Some notes and next steps…
A new kind of event-recording is very helpful in participation and awareness. It opens up recording events practice in Thai society.
It reduced some flaws of the old methodology by pluralising the creators and commentators.
Some cultural links between old and new ones are apparent. Or is it social history that has never been recorded before?
New flaws could be credibility and preservation.
