Mercury is a flat ukulele without resonant box for young people age11 to 14 in improvised areas. With a huge population, about 108 million improvised young people have little chance to receive a proper musical education in China. Public school can hardly cover this financial burden. I simplified ukulele to simple basic shapes of wooden boards. It can be flat packed reduced the cost of transporting and producing to the minimum. They can use boxes with various shapes and sizes to replace the sound box. As different tins will have different resonation, they'll have fun during exploring the sound.

MERCURY 是我在邓迪大学交流期间完成的毕业设计。为偏远地区经济条件欠佳的孩子（11 － 14 岁）设计的平面弦乐。在中国有约十万经济状况欠佳的年轻人很难得到音乐教育。公共教育难以弥补这种空缺。 我简化了乐器的解构，使其得以平面包装，极大减少制造成本和运输成本，最大的特点是无需共鸣箱，可以用任何形状大小的容器替代，同时探索不同材质给音色带来的影响。在今年六月参加 New Designers 设计展，获得乐高等企业的认可。

Develop and Define发展和定义

During the rescarch stage, I tried various ways to approach my users. The project gets bright as I kept trying to seminary their life through data, the interview with music teachers and musicians, workshops, first-hand learning experiences and most of all the chatting with children in Yunnan province. The motivation is the key to my product. It needs to be fun and easy to get started. They will hardly get any help from adults. Reduce the cost to a minimum price, portable size for easy transportation are important features. According to these requirements, I located my product to a neck of a string instrument that can combine with boxes of any sizes and shapes to form a whole musical instrument machine-freely with excellent using experience.

在调研阶段我努力了解目标用户及其生活。方法有查阅数据，对多名当地音乐老师，音乐人的访谈，工作坊，一手的学习感受和与云南的学生在网上对话。 自我驱动力是我的产品最重要的一个部分。这个产品必须容易上手，有趣。在贫穷地区的孩子们很难得到成人的帮助。尽量减少成本，便携的尺寸，运输等都是需要考虑的问题。综上我将产品定位为一个可以和任何形状大小的腔体结合的弦乐琴颈。无需任何工具组装拆卸，体验优秀。

Design 设计

The second semester was a long journey of prototyping. I've made prototypes to test out the schemes. And trying to learn as much as possible from each of them. An expert user Paul, helped me improved the sound. I test out with young people in a society called Hot Chocolate. Observing them using my product was a valuable experience.

在第二学期我制作了共九个原型来测试我的方案，并尽力在每一个原型中汲取经验。音乐人 Paul 帮助我改善音色。我在“热巧克力”青年社区团体请青少年帮助我测试产品，观察他们使用我的产品给了我很宝贵的经验

Eureka helps families with limited wardrobe space but a huge amount of clothes to find particular clothes they need fast and fabulous. This kind family is quite common in metropolitan. The product is a box with an app on the phone. It tracks and manages clothes by connecting of real objects. The core is the way how virtual space connected with real space. Eureka means happy for finding something. Based on learning users, the derived functions included the whole interaction with clothes from recommendation, organization, collocation and donation. Trying to solve this by improving resource allocation in a bigger picture.

Eureka 帮助收纳空间小但衣务繁多的家庭方便快捷的找到所需衣物。这样的家庭在大城市中极为常见。它的硬件是个盒子，软件在手机端，通过物联实现对衣物的快速查找和管理。其核心是寻你空间和现实空间的连接方式。 Eureka, 意为找到了东西很开心。 在收集用户信息的基础上，其衍生功能从衣服的来一直覆盖到衣服的去。包括购买推荐，衣物整理，搭配推荐和纪录，闲置买卖捐赠等，希望能在解决空间狭小的问题外，帮助资源达到合理分配的“治本”目的。

Develop and Define发展和定义

Housing is very special in Beijing. By 2014. the average annual income is 43,910 RMB per person but the housing prices are 60,000 RMB per square meter. The average housing area is less than 21 square meter per person in. We interviewed six people and one expert in different age and status. We went into all of their homes to observe their habit of storing clothes. We found the most thorny issue is to find particular clothes from the armoire. Every interviewee has this same problem. On the one hand, it is due to the poorly organized inner structure on the other hand it is really hard to find particular clothes when thousand of them have to squeeze in the small armoire.

在北京日常收纳是很大的难题。2014 年人均工资为 4 万人民币，而房子的均价已达 6 万人民币每平米。人均生活空间仅有 21 平米。 我们访问了六名年龄身份各异的人员，并进入他们的家中观察受访者的衣柜和收纳习惯。我们发现最困扰的问题是在衣柜里找不到衣服。每位受访者都反映了同一问题。这一方面是由于衣柜内部的解构欠佳另一方面是由于衣服繁多而空间太过狭小。

Design 设计

The essential function of my device is to find a great method to make a strictly corresponding connection between the virtual space in your cell phone and the authentic storage space like your armoire, There is an old Chinese saying one carrot gets one hole. It means everything has it own place and no spare. I associated it with tables like excel to create a box associated with an app on the smartphone to locate certain items.

这个设计的重点是寻找一种精准的匹配方式来联结在手机中无限的虚拟空间和在现实中有限的储存空间如衣柜。 像中国俗语“一个萝卜一个坑”描述的，每件事物都有它独一无二的的位置。像 excel 表格一样将物理的盒子与手机端 app连接起来，从而达到定位具体物品的功能

Basically, my devices are different shapes of boxes with digital transmitters. Users record what clothes they put into the box, then the app will react as a catalog so we can find ‘the hole of a certain kind of carrots’. The box itself also have lights or buzzer to help the user to locate. The expanded use of my device is very wide. Once we get the access to the information that users provide to us we can help them deal with the clothes in a brand new way. The frequency that they pick and use certain items can help us provide a shopping or dispose of suggestion. Especially when we can cooperate with online retailers. In China, online retailers have an immeasurable power and a great mass foundation

我的设备可以看作带有电子传感器的不同规格的盒子。用户记录他们将衣服放进了哪个盒子里，此后手机端将扮演名录的作用，帮助用户找到“某一根萝卜的坑”。该盒子本身会有灯光和声音帮助用户快速定位。 扩展功能十分丰富。在收集用户信息的基础上，我们可以颠覆与衣服的互动方式。通过记录分析取用某件衣服的频率，我们可以提供购物推送或捐赠建议，二手交易。尤其是在中国，线上购物拥有巨大的基础，潜力与合作机会。

During the research, we found smart housing equipment on the market are still in develop stage. comparing to the convenience it brought the efforts of learning how it works overdraw the benefits. even younger interviewees expressed the same concerns of smart equipment. In theory, NFC, data pool, voice input, image recognition, wireless charging are used to reduce using progress and learning burden.

在调研中，已有的智能家居设备依然处于发展阶段，用户的学习成本反而往往超出其所带来的便利，即使是熟悉智能设备的青年受访者也分别表达了对智能设备反复操作的不满。 在理论上，我的设备运用了近距离无线通讯技术 , 数据库，语音录入，图像识别，无线充电等来减少用户使用负担，简化使用步骤。

Baby Say 2015.1 － 2015.3宝宝说 2015.1-2015.3

This is a device designed for new parents of infants to the 2-years-old baby. Especially for young parents between 20 to 35 who can’t receive the assistance from the last generation. It can notice the parents as soon as the baby needs to change disposable diapers by an app on the smartphone. A start-up company asked us to design the shell for their chip.

这是为 20 到 35 岁的必须独自带孩子的新父母们和他们两岁左右的孩子设计的可穿戴智能设备。在孩子需要换尿不湿的时候及时通过在父母手机端的 app 提醒他们。这主要是为初创公司设计的产品外壳。

We interviewed five teachers whose kid is under 2-years-old about changing diapers. Then we compared the competitor's products to find our breakthrough. We expanded it to checking the movement of the baby, notice the parents change diapers to collecting information, recording the growth of babies, providing nursery advice even social community and shopping advice about the nursery.

在对五名孩子小于两岁的受访者就换尿布的流程进行了调研后，我们进行了竞品分析，试图找到突破口。 在提醒换尿布的基础上，扩展其功能到检测婴幼儿运动，记录成长，技工育儿经验和家长社交婴幼儿用品购物推送等。

Follow Me is the work of interface design course. It providing a personalize time and space planning for patients, aiming to the special medical environment in Beijing. It helps direct people, providing a better experience for outpatients. We interviewed 6 people about their experiences with medical treatments, including 3 patients with different stages, two medical students, and one doctor. through the data, we focused on three main conflicts: the difficulty of getting access to medical service caused by uneven medical resources; the confusion during seeing the doctor caused by the long and complex process; trust issue between the doctors and the patients. after divergent thinking for the solutions, we decided to focus on the second problem according to the practicability.

医院导诊助理是界面设计课的作品。针对北京的特殊医疗环境，为就医患者提供个人化的时间与空间规划，疏导人流，帮助患者在就诊过程中的到更好的体验。 我们就医院相关体验向 3 名患者，2 名医学生，1 名医生共六人进行了访问，得到十分宝贵的资料。在分析的过程中聚焦到三个主要矛盾：医疗资源不均挂号困难，就诊过程繁复疑惑，医患关系紧张。就每一类解决方案进行发散思考后，按可行性选择第二类矛盾深入设计。

The project appeared as a personal interface aiming to solve the chaos of progress and time arrangement caused by information inequality for outpatients. The carrier is a translucent portable device. the functions including route and time arrangement inside the hospital. The single linear architecture will reduce the choices of users, instead, it provides simple and clear instructions to declare medical stress of both the hospital and the patients.

产品呈现是一套解决由信息不对等造成的门诊患者就医流程混乱，时间安排混乱的个人化指示界面。 其载体为半透明便携专用设备。其功能包括院内路线规划和时间规划，特点是单一线性架构，减少用户的思考和选择，从而达到快速分流就诊减少患者与医院的压力。

These works are completed during my study as an exchange student in Taiwan. acrylic, fish lines, elastic cloth and epoxy resin are used to make these. the idea all inspired by novels of my favorite writer Italo Calvino. This concept comes from a novel by Italo Calvino I read years ago. In the story there is a village, people will tie a particulate wire between two houses if there are any connection between the people who live in there. Many years passed by, there are far too many wires in the village so the have to move to another place to live and left this old village behind. Another novel described two cities of the lived and the dead. Lian Wu is a common fruit in Taiwan but I had never seen before in the north part of China. I found it very juicy and rich in fiber. I try to present an uncertainty and fantasy based on Lian Wu with symmetrical and powerful appearance.

这几件立体构成作品在台湾交换期间完成。主要材质有亚克力板，鱼线，弹力布，环氧树枝等。发想均来源于我喜欢的作家卡尔维诺的文学作品。 卡，来源于看不见的城市中两则短片小说，将人的关系用棉线缠绕在房子上，最终被遗弃的城市，和地上地下活人与死人的城市。在作品的上部，线是有规律地排列，在下部是困乱的，意在表达同一个人或社会中同时并存的相对的特征。 莲雾是台湾的一种水果，我之前从未见过，它给了我很大冲击，纤维丰富而多汁。我想要在子弹莲雾有力外形的基础上，表达吃这种水果给我带来的不确定的，充满幻想的感受。
