GRANTS: Current As Principal Investigator, Co-Principal Investigator 1R21AG042761-01 9/1/2012-8/30/2015 NIA/OBSSR $382,906 System-subsystem modeling and methods with an application to disability in older adults The project explores the development of a novel system approach that uses a strategy of building subsystems and then integrating the subsystems. The methodology development grant focuses on a pseudo-Gibbs sampler approach that is able to reconcile the potential inconsistency amongst subsystems. My role: PI R01AG031827A 7/01/2009 – 4/30/2013 NIH/NIA $842,709 Longitudinal Methods for Complex Interactions in Elderly Populations The specific aims for this project are to develop two specific methods for analyzing the complex interactions and the resulting dynamics within longitudinal data, especially for aging applications. This project aims to develop targeted strategies and methods for solving challenging methodological problems in the analysis of childhood obesity data. An array of analytic tools will be built around the core technology of DMGM, an extended version of the dynamic Bayesian network. As Co-Investigator (Current)

RO1 AA14007-06A1 (Wolfson) 09/01/2007 – 08/31/2013 (NCE) NIAAA $2,809,025 Study to prevent alcohol-related consequences (SPARC) II SPARC II is a five-year NIAAA funded randomized trial testing a comprehensive intervention using a community organizing approach to implement environmental strategies in and around college campuses. The ultimate goal of SPARC is to reduce high-risk drinking and alcohol-related consequences among college students. The specific aims of the current proposal are to (1) extend the implementation of the intervention for two additional years, and (2) evaluate the process of the intervention as well as its impact on high-risk drinking and alcohol-related consequences among college students.

(Stitzel) 08/01/2011 – 07/31/2016 Toyota $223,261 Automatic Crash Notification The aim of this project is to develop an Advanced Automatic Crash Notification (AACN) system to help determine how motor vehicle crash (MVC) occupants should be triaged. The results will allow emergency personnel to receive information about where an occupant should be transported (Level I or II trauma center or local hospital) following an MVC.
