master en anthropologie et sociologie du développementmaster in anthropology and sociology of development
The Master in Anthropology and Sociology of Development is a programme designed for students interested in the compara-
tive study of global issues from below, from the margins, and across borders. It explores the challenges and dilemmas of development in a critical perspective as pertaining to all regions in the world inclu-ding the Global South. Courses in the programme engage with theo-retical approaches and methodological tools in anthropology and sociology in order to enable students to explore four key themes: state, law, power and conflict; transnationalization, space, and mobility; social movements and transformations; culture and iden-tity.

Students interested in the fast track option must obtain the 90 course credits required by the curriculum by the end of the third semester; these students should therefore not take the Dissertation Writing Seminar reserved for students finishing the master pro-gramme. They should, however, take the Doctoral Seminar I in the third semester of the master programme.
Students have the opportunity to spend the third semester at one of the Institute’s partner universities as part of its exchange pro-grammes. At the end of this period abroad, these students will be able to transfer a maximum of 30 ECTS credits and during the semes-ter of exchange must substitute the compulsory course that is sup-posed to be taken in the third semester.

master en droit internationalmaster in international law
The Master in International Law provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary for rigorous analysis of contem-
porary international legal issues. It couples a solid background in the main areas of international law (international law-making, interna-tional dispute settlement, private international law, history and phi-losophy of law) with advanced training in one or more specialised areas (ranging from trade and investment law, human rights and criminal law to environmental law, territorial disputes and interna-tional law theory).

This curriculum has been designed according to an ideal course load of 30 ECTS credits per semester, so that the fourth semester can be devoted to the writing of a dissertation. Each student is allowed to spread out the elective courses over semesters 1 to 4, but must take into account the following regulations:– Students must take a certain number of courses in their discipline

Students have the opportunity to spend the third semester at one of the Institute’s partner universities as part of its exchange pro-grammes. At the end of this period abroad, these students will be able to transfer a maximum of 30 ECTS credits.

This curriculum has been designed according to an ideal course load of 30 ECTS credits per semester, so that the fourth semester can be devoted to the writing of a dissertation. Each student is allowed to spread out the elective courses over semesters 1 to 4, but must take into account the following regulations:– Students must take a certain number of courses in their discipline
of specialisation and in complementary disciplines;– It is obligatory for students to obtain a minimum of 18 ECTS credits
each semester;– Failed courses cannot be repeated during the fourth semester of
studies.
Students interested in the fast track option must obtain the 90 course credits required by the curriculum by the end of the third semester. During the third semester, these students must take in advance Doctoral Seminar I which is supposed to be taken in the first semester of the PhD programme; this course would replace an elec-tive course offered in the master curriculum.
Students have the opportunity to spend the third semester at one of the Institute’s partner universities as part of its exchange pro-grammes. At the end of this period abroad, they will be able to trans-fer a maximum of 30 ECTS credits and must take a substitute course during the exchange semester for the Research Training workshop, which is supposed to be taken during the third semester.

During the third semester students can take in advance the Doctoral Seminar; this course will replace one of the elective courses included in the master programme curriculum.
Students have the opportunity to spend the third semester at one of the Institute’s partner universities as part of its exchange pro-grammes. At the end of this period abroad, these students will be able to transfer a maximum of 30 ECTS credits and during the semester of exchange must take a substitute course for Statistics for International Relations I, which is supposed to be taken in the third semester.
