STAINLESS STEEL
Acesita steel plant in Timoteo - Brazil
Acesita was founded on October 31st, 1944 by engineers Amyntas Jacques de
Moraes, Percival Farqhuar and Athos Lemos Rache, and operations started in April
1949, with the purpose of producing special steels to supply the local market. Since
startup, several expansion programs have been implemented aiming at introducing
state-of-the-art technology for the manufacture of steels applied to the steel industry.
Through that, the company has faced a continuous growth up to the present date.
The production of 850,000 t/year of raw steel makes Acesita to stand out in the world
scenario due to its high technological content and product quality.
Its line of products also includes stainless flat steels and grain-oriented and non-
oriented silicon steels and special carbon steels, of which it is the only South American
manufacturer.
