Muhammad Bin TahirExcellent work with the Magazine !!!
Omar Wynter “There is not many IT Magazines in Jamaica where I'm from,
just random articles that are not very informative about IT stuff in the local newspapers. But I came across this Magazine on issuu.com while searching for IT and Technology Magazines and I must say that I totally love it. The Magazine is fresh, current and
insightful, it deals with real IT issues for the 21st Century. I really love the Headline article "What HTML5 brings to the table?" that
was very informative, and I was a bit perturbed about the article "Fastians" but I get the gist of it now. I have not yet read "SOPA Wars" but I will have fun doing so while finding out the
implication of SOPA on the Internet. Keep up the good work guys and I look forward to next months issue. Best wishes!”
Hasan good job guys, well done
Faria Rafiq It is a nice effort done, a little
addition I want you to make is to kindly include the management sciences
in this magazine as well as it is only containing the technical content and no business content in it because it is
a magazine of FAST not just Cs department of FAST.
Umair Khalid Excellent work! But you guys must start a hard copy magazine and get
it at famous book stores around town. That'll help you out more in spreading the word of your magazine. Many people like myself don't really read e-magazines and I prefer buying the hard copy
and reading them at my leisure. For reading e-magazines you must have an internet connection readily available and as you guys are aware of the load shedding problems in our country, it is not very easy for every one to read e-magazines. Hard copies would be your best option for more publicity and ease of your readers.
Best of luck!
VeronikaOh nice work. WEll wishes from Sri
Lanka.

Evolution has always been the foundation of an intrinsic human behavior. Since the very beginning mankind is trying harder and harder to transform their world into a
much better place to live in. Whether it was Stone Age or the modern times, men of the time always tried their best to raise their living standards with high tech accessories and machines.
Even from 4500 BCE to 2000 BCE; a period when mankind faced the Stone Age which lasted for no less than 3.4 million years, mankind begun making tools made up of various kinds of stones which included flint and chert which were used for making weapons while on the other hand basalt and sandstone were used for ground stone tools, such as quern-stones. In fact sediments were used to make pottery too, this behavior is actually the zeitgeist of the human society which never vanished but drastically evolved with the time. Then there were the famous Egyptian Times, when technology took the next and most evolving step. They crossed all the boundaries in creating a technology oriented living standard and a lot of milestones which they covered are still a mystery for the men of scientific fraternity of the 21st Century. But for those people technology was just limited to creating gigantic buildings and monuments, creating huge viaducts and palaces. They never tried and from what we can guess, thought of, creating automated manikins which we call Robots to work for them.
Robotic Era, as we speak is the Era of the 21st Century where scientists are trying their best to transform manual labor into robotic labor and hence make their work throughput more efficient and quick. Industrial robots have gained the lime light since the 20th Century, scientists have created huge robotic hands which work on the basis of preprogrammed software. For ease, mostly robots are divided into two categories:
1. User Controlled Robots.2. Self Controlled Robots.
User Controlled RobotsSuch kind of robots is particularly defined as 'Robots which explicitly requires a user to control them'. We mostly see such
robots at the construction sites where huge blocks of stones are lifted by using heavy metal robotic arms and pulleys which are controlled by a highly trained worker. Similarly in the Glass Industries, specifically made robots are used to make glass bottles, even the use of robots has reached to such a height that nowadays gigantic brands have created specially designed robots for performing their jobs more efficiently and with lesser manual labor. Companies who make breads, canned food, cars and even buttons also use huge robotic systems which are synchronized in job performance and hence the throughput never gets affected.
One of most famous car brand, 'Ferrari Industry' has deployed highly sophisticated robots which perform such jobs which are even difficult for the men to perform with precision. Actually robots are supposed to be precise but it's really a difficult task to perform. Ferrari is built, shaped and even painted with the help of robots.
Self Controlled Robots Self Controlled Robots, as we speak can be defined as 'Next generation humanly intelligent robots'. The Engineers have now stepped into another marvel of science and technology. They actually are trying to make robots which need no user to control them but on the other hand they must be intelligent enough to perform their own job by understanding the surroundings. Many of the industries have already deployed such types of robots although not very intelligent but they are capable enough to perform predefined number of tasks. Industries like Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW etc. own such robotic hands which make the car's body, paints them and in fact tights screws at really sophisticated smaller places with in the car's body. One of the biggest evolutions in the robotic world is the humanoid robot. Some of the examples of the humanoid robots are QRIO, HRP, ASIMO, PARO etc. Such robots perform following jobs:
a. ASIMO is considered most advance robot, it can perform small tasks like switching the light, lifting objects, run and walk, serve accessories to the guests etc.
b. PARO has the voice recognition system and can also perform cuddling like a seal.

“The desire that guides me in all I do is the desire to harness the forces of nature to the service of mankind.”
c. HRP can walk, get up from awkward positions, walk on uneven surfaces and grasp objects.

1. Honda2. The Institute of Advanced Indus t r i a l Science and Technology (Japan)3. Kawada Industries4. Sony and many others
The Final EnigmaMankind is habitual of covering milestones and forgetting it as if they never existed. This is the intense society behavior; with every new invention previous ones are put to the Stone Age. Humans like drastic evolution in the technology, devices which were famous yesterday becomes part of the junk yard on the next day. So no one knows where this thirst would end and where it begun, we only accept them as the part and parcel of the intrinsic human nature. The war is about leading in the technology oriented society and those who do not go with wave they are suppressed under the narcissistic consumer behavior. Hope that the evolution in the robotic era would lead mankind to the better edge, as Nikola Tesla once said:

Ev e r y Era has its own dist inct ive zei tgeis t
which plays a vital role in defining its glory. From time to time it has been observed; written and said that in every era,
there are few individuals which construct the foundational steps for its legacy. Engineering, an educational field which is evergreen and has its
immense effects over the optimistic evolution of state as well as its people's living standards, has produced many such individuals. History speaks for the fact;
Egyptians were the pioneers of engineering and they were the first ones to utilize the art of engineering in transforming their historical states behavior before the whole
world. The Egyptian Pyramids are not only the monuments or graves for their pharaohs but also well calculated and precise engineering marvels.
People usually ignore the fact that engineering is the part and parcel of their everyday lives; it actually has made their lives much easier to exceed. It is only because of engineering that the world of today has evolved into a Global Village. Great marvels of engineering like Air Jets, T.V, Mobile Phones, Computer Systems, Internet, Gigantic Cruise Ships, Submarines, Robots, Electric Fans, Lights and so much more that have made our lives much easier to live. Even today, a countries economy majorly depends upon the evergreen revolutions in engineering technologies. One of the biggest brands of the world that have also taken an unspoken responsibility to facilitate the world as well as mutually stabilize its economy are engineering industries. Such organizations include NASA, Cisco, Apple, Alcatel- Lucent, Samsung, Nokia-Siemens and IBM etc. Thus engineering has no limited effects rather it has its immense optimistic effects in the growth from micro to
macro human ease and standardization, which not only is requirement of every individual but is also a major success of the state.
Every other country has a proper procedure; its economy depends on the relative growth in the engineering
field but Pakistan has the opposite case. In Pakistan, the
growth in the engineering field is
dependent upon the economy plus day to day crises in this state. In the p a s t 6 5 Ye a r s ,
Pakistan's
subjugates the state beneath its ever increasing
weight. If we talk about the leading engineering institutes of Pakistan like
NUST, FAST, GIKI and UET who pay much attention in taking care of this field then on the other hand we would see that the conditions in Pakistan have limited them in their performance. become the part of the junk, which in return creates joblessness and diverts the youngsters
in finding employment abroad. Whenever some engineering batch graduates, they need to have jobs for which
they have studied for four years but due to crises, only a few from many get the jobs and even that doesn't meet their expectations. If we talk about
the present university scenarios, we observe that the institutes are not provided proper funds which drastically affects their performances. Every engineering
university requires reasonable funds to make proper research labs and carry on their projects, but unfortunately due to lack of attention on the educational curriculum no significant portion is reserved in the budget for such healthy advancements.
Apparently the future of engineering in Pakistan is not really into the lime light but it does not mean that it is doomed to the depths. Despite all such difficulties our engineering universities are performing really well in training their students to shine where ever they go. Engineering Universities are properly performing their responsibilities but it's the Government of Pakistan who needs to pay attention to this field which is actually responsible for rebuilding this nation's legacy and stabilizing this nation's living standards. The Government needs to understand that our engineering students are very talented; despite lack of facilities they are capable enough to join big brands like IBM, Google, Microsoft, Nokia, Alcatel-Lucent etc. So if proper attention is paid to the universities then the fate of engineering field in
Pakistan can certainly change. Great Heights Require Great Foundations; the government of Pakistan needs to pay attention
in providing fundamental facilities which not only will cause engineering field to grow but also would
have mega effects in creating a technology oriented
human society. Behavioral changes are
relative, if engineering field is a l l ow ed t o g r o om t h e n
automatically it would create job openings as well as facilitated living which won't have basic but severe issues like load shedding, low economy, high basic accessory
rates etc. Growth in the

investments in Pakistan and in fact could increase Pakistan Exports. Countries like Japan and China groomed their eng i n e e r i n g o r i en t ed environment and now

The first thing that comes to your head when you think about Europe is a modern utopia. Where one finds the highest standards of living safety from all sorts of
problems we face being citizens of a developing country. However in the light of current events, the reality now is in stark contrast with the notions we might have, thanks to the eurozone debt crisis.
What is the European debt crisis? Well, to put it in very simple terms, it's just that some countries in Europe are way over-leveraged (under debt) and are not in a position to pay it all back in the foreseeable future. Now the countries c u r r e n t l y f a c i n g 'economic doom' are Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece and Spain gathered under the rather unfortunate acronym “P I IGS”. Now these are some of t h e mo s t h i g h l y leveraged countries in Europe. Lets take a look a t some o f the i r statistics: Italy's debt is 121% the size of its economy, Ireland's is 109% and Greece wins the race with a figure of 165%.
Taking a closer to look at Ireland, we find out that it faced a huge housing bubble and the banks sustained gigantic losses. The government was forced to rescue these banks and consequently the country is now burdened with a huge debt. Spain also underwent a massive a real estate bubble and combine that with a 22% unemployment rate that they currently have, it's a recipe for a very unpleasant future.
Greece, on the other hand, went absolutely berserk with its borrowed money. One might think that how can the problems of these individual countries affect the entire continent when other European countries like Germany and France are economically stable and are generally doing quite well. That unfortunately, isn't the case because when these countries decided to go under the E.U banner and adopt a single currency, their fates became inter-connected. Things
became a lot more complicated. Now c o u n t r i e s l i k e Germany have to bail these countries out and the German public for one is not at all happy. If PIIGS had persisted with their own currencies, their respec t ive centra l banks could have qua r an t i n ed t h i s problem or the y would have been able to export their way out of this mess. But as things stand, they can't. A default by any of these countries or departure from the E.U by a fed up G e rm a n y wou l d reverberate around the world by plunging E u r o p e i n t o a depression and the rest
of the world into a recession.
Overall the economic outlook of Europe seems quite meek for the time being. Economists are working day and night at the European Central Bank to take control of this situation and to minimize damage. These certainly are challenging times for Europe. I would almost feel happy to be living in Pakistan if it wasn't for the energy crisis and the absence of law and order.

The E.U: AnEconomic Outlook
This statement reflects the mindset of the majority of the students studying Business. The business graduates seek to look for jobs immediately after completing
their degree and rightly so. But considering the present situation of the country where the number of jobs available is decreasing and unemployment level is setting new records, every student should not expect to get a job right away. What happens is that students come in the market with this mind set and when they fail to get their desired job, are demotivated.
The reasons for hunting jobs are simple. Many students are of the view that going for a highly paid job will help them to achieve their dreams. They will get certain perks by taking minimum risk. Also they are thinking that after retirement the company will take care of them in their old ages. But if you think that by being in a job you can reach great heights, then there is a problem. The income potential is less. A person fails to be his own boss and gives up his own dreams and desires in order to help achieve the goals of the company he is working with. The pressure of performing often leads to exhaustion and burnout.
However, on the other hand, if you look at entrepreneurship, it has many benefits. The fact that you have a chance to pursue your dreams and not be answerable to anyone for it is the prime benefit. This means that the motivation level will always remain high in this case. For being an entrepreneur you need to have certain traits. These include being innovative, persuasive, tenacious and primarily a risk taker. However, these are calculated risks which the entrepreneurs are expected to take. Benefits of personal business include a more satisfactory work life, flexibility in the work schedule and further development of the industry, especially in rural areas or regions disadvantaged by economic change. It provides a freedom from dependence on the work offered by others.
The fact that graduates choose to overlook the importance and benefits entrepreneurship and instead focus on finding
jobs with a good salary package, indicates that there is a need to emphasize the importance of having your own business. An increasing number of budding businesses is also beneficial for the economic growth of the country as a whole. This can lead to a decline in the unemployment level in the country and help in improving the GDP. Along with that it is also advantageous for the students in the long run because this means instead of hunting for jobs, they come up with their own unique ideas.
Inclination of youth towards getting jobs instead
of entrepreneurship“I want to get a job in a multinational company,
bank or in telecommunication sector.”

W hat is SEO? Search engine optimization is basically a collection of techniques employed by the owners of different websites, in order to land
their websites into the top search results on various search engines. This obviously generates traffic onto your website and hence is an effective way of internet marketing.
With the passage of time, search engines, especially Google, have evolved into something we can't live without. Search engine optimization is heavily dependent on the crawler and indexer policies exercised by a search engine. They keep on changing the code and criteria of how their crawlers work; FYI crawlers are the pieces of code that bring to you what you are looking for online, or in other words these components of search engine keep traversing the different web pages and find out if any new WebPages are available online e.g. if you upload your own website online which is on a .com domain, then you don't need to notify Google that your website is available and Google should add it to their search results. Indexer is the component of a search engine which rates the WebPages on the basis of the content available on them. It basically traverses the whole page and finds out the key words present on it and stores them on the basis of their pre-assigned weights (weights are assigned on the basis of the search queries made by users), now according to number of important keywords present on a webpage, it is ranked on the search engine, and finally its URL is displayed as a search result according to its rank.
So as I was talking about that search engines change the way their (algorithms) crawlers and indexers work. They change their policies so as to help them avoid getting exploited by anyone. The term exploited carries great meaning over here.
SEO techniques can be classified into two basic categories: techniques that actually reflect the content present on your article , and of course that content must be useful to the user , by that I mean , it shouldn't only be written to trick the search engines, but it also should provide some value to the reader, this is called white hat seo technique.
There is another category regarding Seo , which the search engines do not approve , and is called the black hat seo. In short black hat search engine optimizers use techniques which deceive the search engine crawlers and cause them to land their page on top of search results, or we can say that black seo's create content for search engines but not for users. This eventually generates heavy traffic on their web page. Both categories are discussed in detail later.
The reason why the search engines change their ranking algorithms and techniques after short periods of time is just to minimize the effect of black hat SE optimizers. These black hats basically deploy techniques which deceive the ranking algorithms or spiders (crawlers) of search engines and are eventually ranked on top. We all know that all the search engines use key words from user's search and give the most suitable results, sorted according
to ranks of web pages. Now if a web page contains more key words, it will become more and more suitable page for a particular search. If the content available on the
page actually contains those keywords and is providing the right content, relevant to these
k e y words, then that has no problem in it and it is white hat SEO. But some SE optimizers fill their pages with key words which are not relevant to the content available on the web page by including junk files or by including those keywords into the back ground as text colored similar to the background, or it is sometimes positioned off screen. These key words or invisible text is of no use to the end user, but can easily trick the crawler of the search engine. That is called black hat SE optimization. However there are other techniques which are also termed as black hat techniques. Search engines may ban such website for good as soon as they discover if black hat techniques are deployed on them.

a web of data. According to the inventor of www, and of course the semantic web, “Semantic web is a web of data that
can be processed directly and indirectly by machines”. This clearly indicates the core thought of semantic web i.e. a separation between the presentation of data and the data itself. In most simple words, I would say that by employing semantic web technology the search engines would no longer rely on matching the key words in a search query with the huge pile of data on their servers in order to return the result of that query.
As discussed earlier that semantic web would convert unstructured data into structured one. By structured data we mean that the data now is no more sorted or indexed on the basis of senseless keywords, rather the semantic web would also take into account the relation between these keywords, and on the basis of those relations between keywords , a particular webpage which is a set of keywords and relationships among them, will be indexed on a search engines database. This concept can be understood by an example. A sentence consists of a subject, object and a predicate, e.g. Mr. x likes football, in this way , there's no relationship between subjects and objects that can't be described. In order to test the practicality of this approach, webmasters have already started providing Google with structured data , and it is working very fine. In short the Google is bringing semantic understanding to search queries, so instead of just performing dictionary operations on keywords included in a query, Google will use machine intelligence(more specifically the relations between keywords) to interpret the meaning of the query and use that to find the most appropriate results, obviously other search engines are going to follow Google, eventually Seo trends are going to change globally.
So it can be said that over the next few months," Google "will begin spitting out more than a list of bogus WebPages, providing direct answers to questions instead, and that's not new at all, rather it is inevitable for Google to do that otherwise apple's Siri has already done it.

Effect of Semantic Web on SEO
This is definitely going to change the way today's search engine optimizer's work in a way that now they do not only need to worry about filing up their pages with important keywords , but also to make some meaningful and of course useful relation among these keywords.
The essence of today's search engine work is that the end user basically types in the query, the search engine just extracts the important keywords from it , and matches them with title and content of the WebPages lying in its large database.
Not only for the seo , semantic web would also influence the normal working and transactions of a search engine . now the se wont just search for key words , but it will now be knowing the intent behind a particular query, that would eventually lead to better query results.
According to various forums, The purpose of Google+ is to create a layer of people, places and things - and a network of their relationships - that is visible to Google search, Google wants to use Google+ for instead of showing you ads that just match the terms in your search, Google will have to match ads to your search based on your meaning, as well as your context, location , likes on Google+, relationships and so on. The Google+ identity layer also gives semantic search a step ahead. With a more explicit understanding of the thing, place or person to which your search query refers, Google can now predict what you mean.
With a more intelligent search engine, Google will be better for users. It's not just the interpretation of queries that will improve; the quality of results will be better since they can't be gamed with keywords. A bad news for black hat Seo's. lets look forward to using Google with semantic web technology being employed on it and optimizing our search results.
P.s. the reason why I've quoted about Google so much is that it is the most widely used search engine, secondly because it is biggest victim of black hat search engine optimization, and lastly , it is the one who is going to switch to semantic web technology soon.

These days now that we are surrounded by social websites we come across many new terms that were not existent by the starting of 90’s as we are generation
of 90’s so to speak. Even if there were, we weren’t really aware of them as we are now. You might have noticed the term “freelance writer at freelance” or “software developer at freelance” etc while visiting your friend’s profile on facebook LinkedIn or any other social website.
What is freelancing and who is a freelancer. Starting from the very definition, freelancer is a person who is not committed to a particular company and who can offer his or her expertise to different companies without being bounded by a particular company. The company who hires freelancer are concerned with the fact that they will get their assignment being done perfectly and on time not caring about the fact that where this freelancer will be doing his/her work. It may be at home two blocks away from the company or in some other country. In short Freelancing is a new trend to make money faster and with ease. Sounds good doesn’t it? It sounds like a dream come true where you don’t have to listen to your boss or you don’t have to show up at the office on time. It’s just the work that matters and you get paid for every hour that you put into it. There are different ways in which you get paid of course, it varies from company to company. This is the reason why people are now selling their skills on hourly basis and getting a very reasonable returns for it. All you need is Internet to work wherever you want and how you want.
Internet has opened up opportunities for different people who can’t find a job even though they are very talented. Freelancing is now known to be the very lucrative advantage of Internet. The birth of the Internet has revolutionized so many aspects of modern society, from advertising, to social networking, to shopping and even jobs etc. it provides much the needed exposure at a low cost and allows people from all around the world to share knowledge and skill.
Fields in freelancing include music, journalism, publishing, screenwriting, filmmaking, acting, photojournalism, cosmetics, fragrances, editing, event planning, event management, copy editing, proofreading, indexing,
copywriting, software development, web design, graphic design, website development, consulting, tour guiding, video editing, video production and translating etc. nearly everything you can think of.
Among all the freelance activities, software development is one of the most lucrative ones out there because a lot of people need to get some software of websites developed and they lack the talent or time to develop them on other own. Thus the demand for software developer is increasing day by day. Companies all round the world are now contracting with other companies to provide services that might otherwise be performed by their own employees. A simple word used for it is outsourcing. Now a day’s business owners, may they be large scale or small scale business owners, prefer to outsource their software development projects to freelancers. By outsourcing their software development work they can save huge amount of money, time, resources and efforts. In return they can get quality, time saving and accurate services and solutions at cost effective rates. Ultimately it increases the demand of freelance software developers and programmers.
For countries like Pakistan where there is a shortage of jobs in every field, freelancing is a very good opportunity for students and graduates alike. Freelancing can help these young minds develop their skills and a possible career with ease and on their own terms rather than spend countless hours searching for better jobs. Through freelancing, we can save the talent and potential that is being wasted due to limited job opportunities in countries like Pakistan. Here are a few freelance websites which you can visit to start your career

MANNAN AHMED ABBASI
Hitman Absolution PreviewA
gent 47 who was missed by the hitman fans is back with a bang. This time he is more strong, agile , sneaky and meaner than ever. The developer “ IO
Interactive” has now made the game more accessible than ever, meaning that you now have many options and aids at your disposal. This, by some fans was criticized for making the game easy but the developers have responded by saying that the AI got so complex that the developers themselves had to use those aids to sneak around without getting killed. These aids in a way enhance your options and make the game more versatile. Coming on to how the game looks like , well I have got to say that the graphics and gameplay seen on both E3 2011 and E3 2012 look so superb that I was just stunned and how awesome it all was.
After watching the interview of Marsha Thomason who is currently starring in White Collar TV series, I have come to realize the game’s depth in the story line and the fantastic art work involved. Marsha is playing as Diana the only human contact of agent 47. Diana is kind of the one who tells agent 47 where and whom to kill next. In her interview Marsha told that the script given to her was impressive and the motion capture technology being used is just amazing.
Same as before, it’s up to you if you want to go in guns blazing or you just prefer to sneak around or hide in just plain sight. In E3 2011 the game’s publisher IO Interactive & Square Enix showed us that Hiding in plain sight in one case refers to walking into a lobby full of cops while wearing a cop uniform then picking up and pretending to eat a doughnut while a group of swat rushes by searching for you. That sure was fun to see and can’t wait to do it myself.
As I have mentioned before regarding the graphics; they look awesome and I will leave it at that. Now coming to
the gameplay; looking at the 16 min demo video “Run for your life” revealed at E3 2011 and another 10 min long mission video shown at E3 2012 here is what I have to say:
The instinct aid similar to the x-ray vision of batman is fun to use and lets you do the job using various paths that you would not have been aware of otherwise. The movement of agent 47 is very smooth much like assassins creed and the crowd now responds much realistically for example the noise from explosion or falling structure will alert the crowd causing them to either run away screaming or gather around to see what happened depending on the situation.
Now the environment can be used in a much better way. Shooting the chain knobs of a huge hanging crate will cause it to fall down crushing whoever is standing underneath. The gas cylinders can be used to make explosions and so on.
The number of ways a target can be killed is very fun and will make people replay the missions. You can play crazily and go in guns hot and shoot down everything you want to; poison his food or the drugs he is going to use. Squish him by shooting down a huge hanging crate on him, disguise yourself as one of his dealer and take him somewhere private to finish him off or just use a sniper rifle after you have found a good spot. In order to use these different methods you will have to do a bit of homework like studying the pattern of your enemies. Besides you have the instinct skill at your disposal as well. Finishing a man off with bear hands has now more variety and style.
“Spoiler alert ! ” , we have come to know so far that Diana; agent 47’s handler is terminated by agent 47 himself and now he is off to find victoria and fulfill Diana’s dying wish. It is certain that the story is compelling and has great depth to it. This time IO Interactive has made a very cinematic hitman game filled with alot of emotional drama.

Before I finish I would like to let you guys know that if you pre-order Hitman Absolution now, then you will have the sniper shootout mode already available to play. This is a side game which has nothing to do with the story line. The weapons and stuff unlocked in this mode will make them available in story mode also. In sniper shootout mode you are given a target to snipe and discover the area through your scope and looks quite fun to play. This mode was basically only made for the developers’ team to enjoy while working but it was so fun that they made it a pre-order incentive.
The game is set to release on November 20, 2012 and will be available on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. It is expected to be one of the most hit games of the year. I am anxiously waiting for this one and will be getting it the day it is available. I am sure that the hitman fans will be pleased with such a step forward in the series.

The new iPad 3 is identical to iPad 2 but 0.6mm thick (up to 9.4mm) and around 50g heavy (650g for Wi-Fi only, 662g for the 4G model).
It has a 9.7inch glass screen with chic aluminum back. It's well-built with an exceptionally classy feel to it – although it is nearly 100g heavier than the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, you won't really feel its heavy at all.
Although we are again disappointed when it comes to connectivity option here but Cupertino couldn't do much about it either. So the Apple 30-pin connector remains the only physical socket on the iPad, besides the 3.5mm headphone jack. It's not a major setback but can get annoying at times – especially when Android offerings are so much more adept at such things.
The new iPad, with Retina Display showed up with a brighter, sharper screen with a much higher resolution. The higher resolution is 2,048 x 1,536 – lower PPI than the Retina screen
on an iPhone 4S. A tablet like the iPad is mostly made up of the screen and this time around, what a screen it is. It's stunning, though the real surprise is how subtle it is.
The A5x CPU is the heart of the iPad 3 giving it an immense graphical processing power having so many pixels to deal with, and it's a great success. It has 1 GB RAM adding points to its nimbleness.
The real test awaits the iPad when new Retina-friendly apps come streaming through the App Store, though movies are spectacular on the new iPad 3: a 1080p movie downloaded from iTunes gleamed and played with buttery smoothness.
The camera is a big upgrade – from a less-than-1MP sensor in the iPad 2 before to 5MP sensor now. There's still no flash, but then this is hardly the shape, weight or size to make it a natural replacement for your DSLR.
And anyway, this camera just sucks in the light thanks to a wide-open aperture (f/2.4), a backside-illuminated sensor and a lens structure borrowed from the iPhone 4S. It records video in 1080 p with a strong image stabilizer.
The maximum capacity iPad is still 64GB; it'll be easy to fill up the iPad fast with all these 1080 p videos and games in the app store. The clamor for a 128GB iPad is likely to start now.
In the nutshell; It would have been nice to have more new features, a faster CPU and Siri (we were expecting it as a major upgrade). The heat issue is slightly disconcerting on occasion – we've seen it before but it can really affect battery life if left unchecked. But it is that display that makes the new iPad stand out from the crowd. It's a beautiful, welcome addition that takes this device back to the top of the tablet tree, and it is likely to bring a massive slice of business to an Apple store near you.

G A D G E T SG A D G E T SThere is a new horse in town when it comes to the tablet market heavily dominated by two horses - Apple and Google.
In Los Angeles, Microsoft unveiled Surface, a line of tablet devices running the company's next-generation Windows operating system.
The Surface tablets have a 10.6-inch touch-screen in a magnesium case called Vapor Mg. The new feature of the tablet is a magnetically-attached, 3mm-thick Touch Cover that folds down and functions as a full touchscreen keyboard. Another cover option, the 5-mm thick Type Cover, has a built-in track pad. The keyboards power down when they're folded back against the tablet thanks to a built-in accelerometer.
The Surface tablets will be available in two distinct versions. The Windows RT version -- which is effectively the "light" version of Windows 8 -- will launch with Windows 8 in the fall, and run on an NVidia ARM CPU. While it won't have the full desktop version of Windows 8 (it runs only the "Metro" apps available through the Windows app store), it will include a version of Microsoft Office at no additional charge. It has a10.6-inch Clear Type HD Display. It is 9.3mm thick, weighting 676 grams/23.85 ounces. A 31.5 watt hour battery having micro SD, USB 2.0, micro HD video, 2x2 MIMO antennae ports .It will be available in 32GB and 64GB with Front and rear-facing "HD" cameras.
While The Pro will offer the full Windows 8 OS running on an Intel Ivy Bridge CPU ( third-generation Core i5 ). In addition to the beefier CPU and operating system, the Pro will be slightly thicker, offer a more robust battery, boast better peripheral support (USB 3.0 versus 2.0, Display Port, and SDXD expans ion slot), and twice the storage capacity as the RT
version. It has a 10.6-inch Clear Type "Full HD" Display. It is 13.5mm thick, weights 903 grams. Powered by a 42 watt hour heavy battery; It will have microSDXC, USB 3.0, mini Display Port video ports. It will be available in 64GB and 128GB with Front and rear-facing "HD" cameras.
The 10.6-inch touch screen will give the Surface a bigger display than the 10.1-inch Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. Microsoft has not announced the specifics of the display resolution yet, but it did confirm a 16:9 aspect ratio. The "Full HD display" Microsoft mentions in its spec sheet for the Windows Pro version suggests a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution.
Microsoft was not forthcoming about networking details on the Surface, so it's unclear if it will offer built-in cellular support beyond the requisite on-board Wi-Fi.
Although we like what we've seen so far, but I just felt I was left hanging, information-wise. Of course, that was probably Microsoft's goal with this early announcement: to intrigue us and leave us wanting more. Information on apps, Xbox integration, pricing, and the expected battery life in order to
make a clear decision would have been helpful.

Although FAST Islamabad is good in the outdoor games and have many achievements to its name but the same can not be said about the indoor games. The myth is that there is not a proper indoor court in the university. Common rooms have changed in to table tennis court which is quite not feasible. Badminton is played in open air which leads to bad practice. We all know FAST for producing some of the most successful individuals in the emerging sciences today. Breaking that stereotype, FAST is also
playing a foremost role in the sports and games of Pakistan.
Given the predominant political and economic circumstances in our country, the students of FAST took the initiative to direct their latent talents towards making a difference. The students of FAST from all the campuses are the most potent and strategic in sports and games.
The purpose of sports in FAST was not to simply amuse the crowd or to entertain them, but was plotted to achieve a much greater aim, to create awareness amongst the passive population of our country, to remind them, yet again, that they are being wronged. The students of FAST are not only superior in the study but also in the games.
Our soldiers, which are the best and the proud of our Brand FAST, were held to play with other universities in the home ground and in the opponent's as well. Sports fixtures carry indoor and outdoor games such as cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton & table tennis.
Talking about the different series from which, The Inter-University Cricket Tournament is one of the finest triumphs of the FAST Cricket Team. FAST Islamabad shot down NUML by 36 runs in the Final to lift the Champions trophy of Inter-University Cricket Tournament which includes 10 best universities of Pakistan.
Another victory by the FAST Cricket Team and Volleyball team was in the TRI-FIXTURE. FAST, NUST & EME are challengers to each other in the arenas of NUST. Our team won the trophy and stood on the top while NUST was on next and EME was on third. FAST won Gold Medals in volleyball, table tennis & cricket while Silver Medals in football and basketball.
FAST rugby team chipped in the LUMS SUPER X's in which FAST JINNS struggled hard to win the tournament. FAST JINNS made it to the quarter-finals of LUMS SUPER X's after beating 20-0 to GCU. Rugby team is in receipt of potency to win the crowd in pending leagues.
It's always be the words of the mouth that home crowd is one of the cause of pressure on the guest teams to boost the heartbeats of the troupe. One of the best examples is GIKI Fixture. In GIKI Fixture, GIK was hosting the series which includes many games. Football, cricket, table tennis, squash & badminton were well played by the GIKI while basketball & volleyball set FAST to the victory. Hockey which was drawn in the GIK gave results in the FAST hockey stadium after a while. Another GIKI Fixture, hosted by the FAST Islamabad brings victory to the rings of FAST. Football, cricket, basketball & volleyball tournaments were won by FAST and badminton and hockey by GIKI. Both teams played hard in the home grounds and gave an honor to the guest teams.
Another TRI-Fixture between LUMS, FAST & LSE brought the good in the FAST teams. LUMS was hosting the fixture hence won the fixture. LSE was on second and FAST stood for the third. FAST volleyball team was appreciated by the university on the great victory in fixture.
FAST attempted well to bring the victories in the home field. TRI-Fixture between FAST, EME & LUMS and LUMS won the fixture just by the one point. LUMS was on the top as before, FAST was the next and the EME placed on third. FAST was the champions of cricket, football and the volleyball in this fixture.
FAST was the runners up in the basketball of EME Olympiad. EME accepted the hardiness of FAST Basketball team.
FAST Islamabad has FAST Sports Guild, to promote and organize sports among FASTIANS. All the sports events which are organized within FASTIANS are held under FSG. Often, we find ourselves complaining about how life has changed and that we don't get enough time for ourselves anymore. Life has become a continuous
struggle and we have to run round the clock to achieve something in today's competitive world. Some of the extremely busy people don't have time to even notice the fact that they have actually become an automaton, following the trends and principles set for them by the world and never caring to know what they want out of their life.
Well, what do we exactly want out of our life? It pretty much depends on age!
A baby always wants to see his mother near him as his whole world revolves around her-from feeding to sleeping, from crying to talking.
A school-going kid wants to get a star in his homework and lots of friends to play with.Still pretty simple desires.
A teenager wants attention, affection and popularity among friends, plus good grades which are obviously essential for a bright future. But life is not simple once you enter teenage! And then we enter college life! Full of complications…
Firstly, if you happen to be in a good college (good means high merit), you have to face this continuous trauma of being among the 'cream of the nation'. So get ready for a tough competition. Then there is politics among the class fellows and mostly people fall in love during this crucial period. So life becomes really 'tough'.
And then comes the practical life! But as we grow up responsibilities, duties and worries take the
place of our deepest desires; we forget our true self and become the person we are required to be, as per the demands of the society.
These problems we are facing today existed in the past as well but never affected people as we are being affected today. Depression, hopelessness and stress related problems were never taken so seriously. An explanation for this trend is the shift of our character based on ethical values in the past to materialistic standards of today. Actually, our generation is lost in the amalgam of old and new era and has developed confused ethics. I, being a part of the same generation, want to give some free advice! Firstly, we all must know ourselves- our weaknesses, our strengths, our problems, our dreams and our purpose of this whole life, as no one else is going to do that for us.
We know A to Z about the latest gadgets in the market and fashion trends. We are very up to date with what is happening
around the world but are totally unaware of the soul residing within us. Now most of you will get bored or offended as I am mentioning spirituality- which some people take to be a very personal matter. But let me clarify that spirituality has nothing to do with the soul which all of us possess, no matter how ignorant we may be. So it is something very realistic and important… and in dire need of a serious discussion.
Soul is not easily satisfied by watching a movie or eating fast food or wearing designer wear; it demands something else. For instance, we wish to wear high brands but we feel the old simple dresses most comfortable; we wish to sit in Marriott and Serena with elite class, yet we enjoy roadside food with
friends, the most; we wish to drive in Mercedes, but we talk our heart out while walking down a long road; we have 64 GB iPods filled with latest songs, yet sometimes a song on radio, brings a smile that can't be compared! Life is simple indeed but we make it difficult by running after things which never give us happiness or any sense of satisfaction. And when we talk about soul, satisfaction does not come easily. Faith, character and moral values are the source of its satisfaction. Nobody can deny how moral values are declining day by day. Consequently, we have now reached a stage when we can't even define morality and the line between right and wrong has almost vanished. But that doesn't mean it's the end of the world! The purpose of writing all this is to give food for thought about the deepest problems lying within us.
According to Paulo Coelho,
Each of us has the potential to bring a change in our life, our personality and our mentality. Yes, life is becoming busier day by day and stresses of this life are never going to end, but a large magnitude of this STRESS can be reduced by focusing more on our basics, simplifying the things for ourselves and others and throwing all the unnecessary tensions out of our
life. It doesn't mean that one should stop dreaming and struggling! It means that while seeking wealth, fame, degree and success, don't become so pre occupied that you lose your own self!
The lost self…!
WHAT LIES BEHIND US AND
WHAT LIES BEFORE US ARE TINY MATTERS, AS COMPARED TO
WHAT LIES WITHIN US!(Oliver Holmes)
WE ARE NOT HUMAN BEINGS HAVING A SPIRITUAL
EXPERIENCE. WE ARE SPIRITUAL BEINGS HAVING A
HUMAN EXPERIENCE!(Thiel Hard De Chardon)
DONOT FEAR THE MISTAKES-FEAR ONLY THE ABSENCE OF
CREATIVE, CONSTRUCTIVE AND CORRECTIVE RESPONSE TO
THOSE MISTAKES.(Anonymous)
THE WORLD'S GREATEST LIE IS THAT AT SOME STAGE IN OUR LIFE WE LOSE CONTROL OF WHAT IS HAPPENING TO US AND OUR LIVES BECOME CONTROLLED BY FATE.

THE WORLD'S GREATEST LIE IS THAT AT SOME STAGE IN OUR LIFE WE LOSE CONTROL OF WHAT IS HAPPENING TO US AND OUR LIVES BECOME CONTROLLED BY FATE.

AZFAR IMTIAZ
Today I witnessed an event; the consequence of which was the dawn of a significant realization upon me. In itself, the event was not that remarkable, but it had far-reaching implications. This afternoon found me
standing next to the Daman-e-Koh entrance, waiting for a friend. Being Islamabad, the month of June, and 43 degrees, naturally I was all hot and bothered (and vexed) by the intense
heat. Nearby, there was a broken pipe that had been gushing water like a fountain for over 45 minutes before these two beggar kids arrived at the spot. One of them immediately rushed to a nearby
tree and started (gathering dead branches strewn at its base/peeling off branches). He started beckoning and shouting to his friends, asking them to help, maintaining that “paani zaya ho raha hai” (the water is being
wasted). With their help, he stuffed the wooden/tree branches in the hole of the pipe and stopped the water from leaking and wasting.
While on the outer surface this incident may not seem to be particularly remarkable, it is what this occurrence implies that is of essence. Consider Ali: a nine-year old boy who belongs to the lowest class of people in Pakistan. He makes his living by selling flowers to car drivers on the roads. He suffers the brunt of all the crisis Pakistan is going through the most. And yet, today while others chose to simply look on and remain indulged in apathy, Ali chose to care. This small act of his, shows that he is aware of and cares about the fact that water is already scarce in our country, and it should not be wasted. It shows that he cares about Pakistan; the country which has forced him to make a (scrimpy/meager) living by selling flowers in the sweltering heat; as well as about the people of Pakistan, most of whom he encounters on the roads and whom he gets told off by regularly for 'being an annoyance'.
Considering the crisis our country is presently going through, a kid like Ali shines like a beacon of hope for all of us. This small act of his shows that while conditions here may go from bad to worse, and from worse to worst, only to realize that the worst is yet to come, there are people here who still care about Pakistan and fellow Pakistanis. People who are ready to brave all that our corrupt
governments are throwing at us, and more. People who are willing to pull out all the stops/ a last-ditch effort to save their beloved homeland, when the time is right.
And while such people exist, you know your country is in safe hands.
