FamilyFeodor Ivanovich Chaliapin was a Russian opera singer. He was born in 1873 in Kazan.His father, Ivan Yakovlevich,served as a clerk in the Zemskaya Uprava. His mother, Evdokia Mikhailovna, was a peasant in Dydniza.
His godparents were his neighbors.

He graduated from the private school Vedernikova, then attendant in the Fourth parish school in Kazan.
Later in six primary school. Chaliapin was married twice, and both of his marriages were born nine children. His first wife, Iola Tornagi, was young Italian ballerina.He had never divorced Iola Tornagi and he was never legally married with Maria Petzolt.

Feodor Ivanovich Chaliapin was a Russian opera singer. The possessor of a large, deep and expressive bass voice, he enjoyed an important international career at major opera houses and is often credited with establishing the tradition of naturalistic acting in his chosen art form.
He received a lot of awards and honours during his career. The most important once are People's Artist of the Republic and Commander of the Legion of Honour.

Death Chaliapin's last stage
performance took place at the Monte Carlo Opera in 1937, as Boris. He died the following year of leukemia, aged 65, in Paris, where he was interred. In 1984, his remains were transferred from Paris to Moscow in. They were re-buried in the Novodevichy Cemetery.

and away the best remembered of many other magnificent basses is a testament to the magnetic power of his personality, the acuteness of his musical interpretations, and the vividness of his performances.
